WWE and its Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque
paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away yesterday at
the age of 78 just two weeks after he performed in one final
concert.
WWE.COM uploaded a story where they went over Osbourne’s
history with WWE, from WrestleMania 2 to performing on
Smackdown, guest hosting Raw, and the Hall of Fame induction
in 2021.
Osbourne – and Black Sabbath’s – song War Pigs has also
served as the theme for NXT TakeOver: WarGames and Survivor
Series: WarGames over the past years.
Triple H wrote in a social media post that the Rock and Roll
Heaven just received The Prince of Darkness.
“Ozzy was one of a kind. His relentless passion for music
was something I always looked up to. From the moment I heard
the first riff of Paranoid I was hooked on this sound that I
never heard before,” Triple H wrote. “My dream turned into
reality as Ozzy would become involved with @WWE and
eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame.”
He also offered his condolences to his wife Sharon,
children, and grand children.
