Jayc Jayne’s NXT Women’s title win was not the only title
change on NXT yesterday as Ethan Page also became the new NXT
North American champion after he beat Ricky Saints in the
opening match of the show.
The two former AEW stars had a huge brawl to open the show and
Page nearly took out Saints after he dropped him throat first
on a steel chair. Saints’ throat injury played out for the
rest of the match and while he put in a valiant effort, Page
finished him with the Twisted Grin finisher.
This is Page’s first run with the NXT North American title,
having previously won the NXT title. Saints won the title on
the April 1 episode of the show from Shawn Spears, with his
reign lasting 55 days.
