Mexican newspaper Récord is featuring a report saying that
changes and decision-making by WWE on AAA will come into
effect after Triplemania XXXIII, which is scheduled to take
place on Saturday, August 16.
The acquisition deal for WWE to take over AAA will be
official sometime in Q3 2025 after it goes through the usual
procedures, so for now, things remain somewhat normal for
the Mexican luchador promotion.
The report by Récord also states that WWE/TKO will take 51%
ownership of AAA’s shares while Mexico-based sports and
entertainment holding company Fillip will own the other 49%.
Récord mentions that AAA is not the only thing WWE is eyeing
in Mexico, as there are plans to take over other properties
in the country, including a possible WWE Performance Center
location or an arena.
The first joint NXT/AAA show will take place on Saturday,
June 7 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California with Worlds
Collide.
