Andrew Zarian, who readers of this page remember as a
leading source of news on the WBD-AEW TV deal when it took
place, is getting back in the game after months of busy time
at his legitimate job.
He tweeted yesterday:
"Hearing that there will be an announcement regarding AEW
PPVs on HBO Max in the coming weeks..."
Past stories on this indicate that any such plan would be a
DISCOUNT on PPVs for HBO MAX subscribers, rather than a
"Network" type plan such as exists with WWE Network, Peacock
(or ESPN Unlimited when your carrier makes a deal with
ESPN).
Those of us who pay monthly for AEW PPVs will happily save
any money we can.
In addition, Andrew Zarian appeared on Fightful's In The
Weeds podcast and reports HBO Max is introducing a new
section for one-time purchases
These updated terms will take effect on September 20th,
suggesting that AEW's All Out could be the inaugural
AEW pay-per-view offered through the service.
