In an interview with Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, WWE
Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin revealed that an
appearance at WrestleMania 40 was close to being made, but
eventually it did not work out.
Austin was penned to be part of the main event where he had
to confront The Rock, but that spot eventually went to The
Undertaker when the deal fell through.
Asked how close it was for WrestleMania 40, The Rattlesnake
said, “Oh, it was close! And they certainly reached out to
me and we had conversations, but my wife and I had some
things going on that I didn’t need to go to Philly at that
time.”
Austin said that while he couldn’t make it to that one,
WrestleMania 41 will be in Nevada, in the state where he
currently lives and he hopes to be there for it.
He previously said in an interview that he doesn’t want to
travel outside the state but Las Vegas is in Nevada and only
400 miles away.
