Brandon Thurston of POSTwrestling.com reported in an
extensive story on May 11, that AEW has filed a lawsuit
against TrillerTV on April 29 in Duval County Court in
Florida, seeking payment of $5 million in payments owed.
This money owed comes from TrillerTV’s offering
internationally of AEW pay-per-views and the monthly AEW
Plus service, both of which have been discontinued.
“[Triller Group Inc.’s] strategy of robbing revenues
generated by TrillerTV’s distribution of AEW content to
cover other of Defendants’ operating expenses (much of which
was spent on the social media platform endeavor) negatively
impacted its relationship with and payments owed to
AEW,” the lawsuit stated. AEW was supposed to receive
75% of the net revenue from domestic pay-per-view sales and
65% of the net revenue from international sales. When it
came to AEW Plus, AEW got 60% while Triller got the
remaining 40%.
TrillerTV no longer offers AEW on its service, and it was
replaced by AEW’s own MyAEW streaming service.
German's Westside Xtreme Wrestling company also says that
TrillerTV has allegedly not paid them anything since
October, claims the company has also stopped responding to
their emails, and has moved their programming to IWTV..
Meanwhile, PostWrestling also reports that TrillerTV is
suing its parent company, Triller Group, Inc. In the
lawsuit, TrillerTV reveals unrealized Triller Group sale
talks with Fubo, and abandonment of TrillerTV by Triller
Group executives, which allegedly prevented TrillerTV from
paying AEW the revenue being sought in the AEW lawsuit
revenue from PPV sales and AEW Plus subscriptions.
Speaking of MyAEW, it's now available on Roku and Roku TV.
The app was already available on Apple TV, Fire TV, and
Android TV, so this was basically the last major platform
that MyAEW had to add compatibility to.
In the United States, only the AEW FAST channel is available
to stream for free along with past episodes and other
content. The service is designed to replace TrillerTV for
international streaming' for those outside the US, Canada,
Mexico, or India (unless you use a VPN).
There are three different subscription levels; starting at
$7.99/month and covers AEW podcasts, live episodes of
Dynamite and Collision, the ROH HonorClub TV episodes, live
ROH PPVs, and the AEW TV archive (gradually being rolled
out).
The $19.99/month level includes the developing AEW Podcast
Network, that month's AEW PPV(s), live ep Dynamites and
Collisions, ROH HonorClub TV episodes, live ROH PPVs, the
AEW TV archive, and select AEW PPV archives.
The top level $119.99/year option features AEW podcasts, all
2026 AEW PPVs, live Dynamites and Collisions, ROH HonorClub
TV episodes, the AEW TV archive, and AEW PPV archives
gradually rolling out.
All Elite Wrestling has five hours in one week TV block,
beginning on Memorial Day week, first with a
Dynamite/Collision three-hour block from Philadelphia's
Liacouras Center, then another regular two-hour Collision on
May 30 from Huntsville's Von Braun Center.
The news hit alongside WBD's 2026 Upfront at MSG where promo
graphics featured MJF, Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Jon
Moxley, and Willow Nightingale. Online fans split into
optimists citing the airtime and overruns as proof of strong
support, while pessimists worried over the lack of mentions
amid WBD's pending merger (note: they haven't specifically
mentioned AEW most other years either), but these special
slots suggest business as usual through at least 2027.
So much for the comments from ex-agents.
Finally, Double or Nothing 2026 is officially sold out. The
show will have 14,028 fans at the Louis Armstrong Stadium,
making it the second most-attended Double or Nothing so far
behind the 2022 edition which had just over 14,500. It's the
second largest gate for an AEW show in the United States,
behind ALL IN: Texas; and is fourth overall in AEW gate
revenue behind the two ALL IN Wembley shows in 2023 and
2024.
Until next time...
