MARK BRISCOE: Mark Briscoe wins his first major singles title in ROH after 22 years

Posted on 4/06/124 by Colin Vassallo

Mark Briscoe won his first ROH World title last night at
Supercard of Honor in the main event of the show, defeating
Eddie Kingston.

It was an extra special occasion for Briscoe as he won the
title 11 years exactly to the day after his brother Jay won
the title at Supercard of Honor in 2013.

Despite his 22-year career in ROH, Briscoe never had a major
singles title with the company unlike his late brother and
was given a hero’s reaction after the match.

Friends, family, and ROH stars stormed the ring to celebrate
with Briscoe, lifting him up on their shoulders as a
bloodied Briscoe raised his title.

The popular ROH star also came out with the entrance theme
which the Briscoe Brothers used in ROH, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s
song Gimme Back My Bullets.

Kingston now remains the NJPW Strong Openwieght champion
after also losing the Continental title to Kazuchika Okada
in March.
