ALL ELITE WRESTLING DYNAMITE/TBS/HBO MAX: May 13 report

Posted on 5/14/126 by Bob Magee

AEW Dynamite was LIVE from Asheville, North Carolina, on TBS
and HBO Max, just 11 days before AEW Double or Nothing in
New York! And both the AEW World Title and TNT Championship
were on the line!

AEW World Champion Darby Allin somehow did it again and
successfully defended the AEW World Title in the main event
against “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita despite Allin taking
yet another barrage of punishment. After the match, MJF
finally signed the contract to face Allin in a Hair vs.
Title match at Double or Nothing. MJF attacked Allin and
tried to tombstone him off the turnbuckles, but TNT Champion
“The Jet’ Kevin Knight came out to make the save!

It was a busy night for Knight, as he also defended the TNT
Title in an open challenge against “The Machine” Brian Cage,
who returned after a 14-month absence. Knight fought through
all Cage’s power to prevail in the end. Will Ospreay had to
fight through his own tough battle with Ace Austin, and with
some clear Death Rider influence in his game, Ospreay won by
submission. When The Opps tried to go after Ospreay
following the match, the Death Riders surrounded the ring to
save Ospreay!

Plus, we found out the brackets for both the women’s and
men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, which begins at
Double or Nothing with three opening round matches!

All that and so much more went down on a huge night in
Asheville for Dynamite! Here are your complete results!

MJF Faced a Bald Gauntlet of His Potential Future

Renee Paquette tried to get a word with MJF as he entered
the building earlier today about the prospect of signing a
contract to put his hair on the line to get a shot at the
AEW World Title against Darby Allin, if Allin beat Konosuke
Takeshita in the main event later today. As referee Rick
Knox, a man without hair, walked by, MJF glanced at him and
blew off Paquette, before MJF encountered a host of bald
gentlemen ranging from referee Bryce Remsburg to Christopher
Daniels and Sonjay Dutt to a flexing John Silver, along with
a wide range of follically challenged men in the backstage
area. Nearly everyone MJF saw was bald, including Tomasso
Ciampa, who removed his hat to remind MJF what his future
could be. Finally, MJF ran into Boss Bald, Ricochet, along
with Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun. Ricochet took his hat off
and told Max he would look great, but not as good as him,
though. AHA!

10-Man Tag Team Match: AEW World Trios Champion Orange
Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & Young Bucks (Matt
and Nick Jackson) def. AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR
(Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood), "Psycho Killer" Tommaso
Ciampa & The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay)

During the entrances, we saw that Copeland and the Young
Bucks had matching gear for this unlikely team! All 10 men
faced off at the bell and immediately brawled! The action
spilled to the floor with everyone pairing off, including
Stokely finding the underside of the commentary desk.

Finally, Harwood and Cassidy brought things into the ring
with Cope getting on the apron in his corner. As the fights
continued on the outside, Harwood knocked Cassidy down and
immediately started fighting with Cope on the apron.
Meanwhile, Cage and Wheeler were fighting up the stairs into
the crowd, far away from the rest of the action. Back in the
ring, Harwood connected on a big superplex on Cassidy, but
when he tried to roll into another suplex, Cassidy reversed
it into a Stundog Millionaire. He followed up with spinning
DDT, although he couldn’t do much with it after suffering
the effects of the superplex.

When it seemed like Cassidy had an opening to make a tag,
Stoke grabbed his leg, and Ciampa tagged in to keep the heat
on Cassidy. Ciampa nearly lost Cassidy, but Harwood tagged
back in to stop Cassidy. Harwood missed a splash in the
corner and went head-first into the steel post! That allowed
Cassidy to tag Nick Jackson, who opened up on FTR before
knocking Ciampa to the floor. Nick swung away from FTR and
brought them back together in a meeting of the minds. The
Dogs came in, but Nick somehow controlled them with his
signature armdrag/headscissors from the top rope to take
both men down! Matt Jackson tagged in and hit a superkick in
the corner on Finlay, while Nick fought Connors into the
opposite corner. They met in the middle with stereo bulldogs
on The Dogs and a mid-air high-five to punctuate the
successful attack.  Matt kicked FTR through the ropes and
held on for Nick to flip over and take out FTR and Ciampa
with a dive to the floor!

Back in the ring, Matt hit a pair of Northern Lights
suplexes on Connors before Finlay ran in and wound up on the
other side of Connors in a double Northern Lights suplex
from Matt! Stokely grabbed the Bucks’ legs before they could
open up a superkick party on The Dogs. They dragged him into
the ring, and he begged for mercy until FTR spun the Bucks
around so he could escape. The Bucks kicked FTR to their
knees and hit them with short superkicks. They stopped The
Dogs on the apron with two more superkicks, and when FTR
rushed at the Bucks, they moved, and FTR knocked Finlay and
Connors to the floor. FTR turned into a pair of superkicks,
so Ciampa got into the fray. He went for a bicycle knee on
Matt, but he moved, and Wheeler took the friendly fire from
Ciampa instead! The Bucks superkicked Ciampa to the mat and
celebrated their decimation of the opposition with the
crowd. Matt tagged Christian, which brought a big ovation
from the Asheville crowd. With the referee’s back turned,
Christian walked right up to Wheeler and kicked him low! The
Bucks hit another pair of superkicks on Wheeler, so Cage
covered, but only got a two-count!

Ciampa turned things around on Cage when he got a little too
focused on retrieving his stolen watch from Stokely. Stokely
denied that the watch was stolen on commentary, although it
was clearly the one he removed with intent from Cage’s wrist
during a recent FTR attack. Just when it looked like Cage
had an opening to make a tag, all of his teammates were
pulled down from the apron. Harwood nearly talked his way
right into a surprise Killswitch, but pushed Cage to the
corner, only for both men to immediately collide with one
another.

With both men down, Cage finally made it to the corner and
tagged Copeland! He hit anything that moved from the
opposite side and launched Finlay over the top onto Ciampa
and Harwood on the floor. Copeland nailed Connors with a big
boot and measured him for a spear, but Finlay grabbed
Copeland’s leg on the outside. Matt ran down the apron to
superkick Finlay! Connors charged Copeland, who moved and
sent Connors into a gutshot from Matt. Matt came back into
the ring with a springboard facebuster on Connors and dove
back through the ropes on Finlay! Copeland snapped Connors
to the mat with a Cope-A-Matic for a two-count! Connors was
sent to the corner, yet still managed to send each Jackson
onto the apron. They both sprang into enzuigiris on Connors
as Cage came in with a splash. Cassidy hit a rolling,
jumping shoulder tackle into Connors, much to the chagrin of
Stokely on commentary. “I hate him so much.”

Finlay charged at Cassidy, who side-stepped him with a
dropkick that sent Finlay face-first into the turnbuckle!
Cage stopped Wheeler from breaking up a reverse DDT on
Ciampa and then grabbed Harwood to hit a double reverse DDT
on Harwood and Ciampa! Everyone was down except Connors, so
Cage, Cassidy, Matt and Nick each went up top in separate
corners. Connors rushed in the ring to a boot from Cope, who
synchronized everyone for splashes! All four connected, and
Cope dumped Connors on his head with an Impaler DDT! Connors
kicked out at the last possible moment!

The Bucks dove through the ropes onto Ciampa and Finlay.
Cassidy and Cage faced off in the ring, and Cassidy went to
put his hand in his pockets, but Cage stopped him. Cassidy
grabbed Cage’s hands and put them in his own pockets!
Cassidy did the same, and the crowd was ecstatic! Cage had
had enough of the antics and just threw Cassidy over the top
onto FTR. Christian went to the top and came crashing down
on Finlay over the ring post to the floor! Copeland appeared
to be eyeing a dive of his own, only to bounce off the ropes
into a Shatter Machine from FTR! Connors crawled over for
the pin, but Cassidy broke it up! Cassidy went into his
trademark kicks, so FTR launched him up for another Shatter
Machine, which the Bucks thwarted. That turned into a rapid-
fire exchange of big moves on both sides with Cage hitting a
Killswitch on Ciampa right before getting knocked from the
ring by a running shoulder tackle from Connors!

Connors measured Cope for a spear, but he leaped over it,
and Connors nailed Harwood instead! Cope and the Bucks lined
up for a triple superkick and blasted Connors! Connors
stumbled into an Orange Punch, followed by a spear from
Cope, who covered Connors for the pinfall victory!

Will Ospreay’s Latest Training Session with the Death Riders

Daniel Garcia introduced us to the training session from
earlier today, which featured Will Ospreay in a neck bridge
while Jon Moxley demonstrated a choke on Wheeler Yuta.
Moxley asked Ospreay how he felt, and Ospreay admitted it
was the best his neck felt in forever.

Moxley asked Ospreay if he remembered the night he won the
NJPW Super Juniors, which Ospreay knew from 2019. Moxley
called that a lifetime ago when Ospreay was carefree and
flew like a bird for no other reason than that’s what birds
do. It was simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no
other feeling in the world. You couldn’t really grab it, but
the joy of doing it was worth it until others tried to make
it more complicated. Years and life happen, including family
and friends, bad choices, and then there’s a weight on your
shoulder, and you feel like you can’t fly.

Moxley said nothing has changed, and all those things will
still be there. He can still fly. He’s just becoming more
dangerous. He’s a bird of prey. Moxley said Ospreay
shouldn’t go out there tonight to protect anything. He
should go out there to give something. Moxley got distracted
by Yuta and went off to correct his technique, leaving
Ospreay to ponder Moxley’s words.

Ricochet Recruits Andrade and The Dogs for Stadium Stampede

We took a look back at one of the wildest matches in AEW
history, Stadium Stampede, narrated by the man who created
it, Jericho! And now Jericho will have The Hurt Syndicate
and The Elite by his side!

That brought us back live to the backstage area, where The
Demand and AEW National Champion Mark Davis stood by
representing Ricochet’s team. He brought Andrade El Ídolo as
the newest member of his team, courtesy of his golfing
buddy, Don Callis. And finally, Ricochet said The Dogs
wanted in, so they’ve also been added to the team. Finlay
and Connors delivered a message of violence to the Bucks, as
they’re now set to meet again at Double or Nothing in
Stadium Stampede!

“Speedball” Mike Bailey (with TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin
Knight) def. Westbrook

Westbrook tried for a schoolboy pin at the jump, but Bailey
countered, and the two traded reversals until Westbrook got
caught in the ropes trying to match Bailey. Westbrook missed
a springboard and ate a spin kick from Bailey! He followed
with Ultima Weapon from the top rope to get his third win in
seven days! But just like Speedball wasted no time, we
wasted no time moving right into the TNT Open Challenge…

TNT Championship Open Challenge: “The Jet” Kevin Knight (c)
def. “The Machine” Brian Cage of the Don Callis Family

As Knight awaited his challenger, we were treated to the
return of “The Machine” Brian Cage, whom Lance Archer and
Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family flanked. Renee
Paquette brought us a report from ringside on Cage, who had
been out of action for 14 months and planned to bring the
TNT Championship back to the Callis Family!

Knight tried to stick and move with Cage at the beginning,
but Cage shrugged off some chops. Cage continued to foil all
of Knight’s offense with his power and was showing no signs
of ring rust in the early going. Cage kept Knight in the
corner with a gutshot and a big chop. He sent Knight to the
opposite corner and continued to pound away before choking
Knight over the bottom rope. Finally, Knight turned it
around when he was able to knock Cage to the apron and then
to the floor with a dropkick. Knight got a head of steam and
dove through the ropes at Cage, but Cage just shrugged off
the blow! Cage picked up Knight and dropped him face-first
on the ring apron with a tornado fireman’s carry slam!

Cage remained on the offensive without much pushback from
Knight and nearly became TNT Champion with a spinning
cutter, but Knight was able to kick out in time. Cage picked
up Knight for a suplex, so Knight slipped behind, but Cage
connected with a back elbow. Knight tried a jumping DDT, so
Cage deposited him on the apron. Knight springboarded back
in with a dropkick that finally dropped Cage! Knight lit up
Cage with unanswered shots and used his speed to hit a pop-
up dropkick that sent Cage to the floor. Knight flipped over
the top rope onto Cage, but Cage caught him! Cage brought
Knight towards the steel steps, so Knight reversed the
momentum and sent Cage into the steps! Knight ran up to the
apron and jumped back down onto Cage with a big clothesline
that knocked the bigger man down. Archer came over to get
involved, but ate a thrust kick on the chin from Bailey for
his troubles!

The distraction worked long enough for Cage to bring Knight
back into the ring from the apron with a superplex! What
power! Knight still kicked out! Back on the floor, Archer
tried to goozle Bailey, so he escaped onto the apron and
kicked Archer in the head. Cage came at Bailey, so he hit a
springboard moonsault to Archer on the floor! In the ring,
Cage avoided Knight coming off the top and tried a discus
clothesline, which Knight JUMPED OVER! Knight hit a jumping
DDT for a near-fall!

Knight put Cage on the top rope and tried for a leaping
hurricanrana, but he couldn’t bring the big man down. Cage
dragged Knight up from the mat, showing incredible power,
but Knight was able to bring Cage down with a hurricanrana
on the second attempt. He went back up top and connected
with the UFO Splash! Knight covered Cage for the pinfall win
and successful TNT Title defense.

JetSpeed got on the mic to compliment each other on their
victories, but Knight said he couldn’t help but come back to
not getting the job done last week for the AEW World Title.
Bailey cut him off and said Knight will be the AEW World
Champion one day. Knight said if Bailey keeps it up, he’ll
be champion here one day as well. Bailey said that got him
thinking.

“Tonight, Takeshita vs. Darby Allin? I want next!”

Bailey said Takeshita was his greatest rival in Japan, but
they haven’t had a singles match in AEW. And as much as he
wants to see MJF bald, he’s coming for Darby Allin’s AEW
World Championship!

Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Bracket Revealed!

On the men’s side, we found out that quarterfinal matchups
between Samoa Joe and Will Ospreay on one side of the
bracket and Swerve Strickland and Bandido on the other side
would both take place one week from Sunday at AEW Double or
Nothing! The winner of Joe/Ospreay will face the winner of
Mark Davis vs. “Jungle” Jack Perry, while the winner of
Strickland/Bandido will face the winner of Claudio
Castagnoli vs. Brody King. The tournament final takes place
at Forbidden Door on June 28 in San Jose, Florida!

Somewhere in the back, we heard from Perry, who said that
Davis probably thinks he’s earned some congratulations.
Perry said Davis is no champion to him. He said Davis is
built like an Australian grizzly bear, yet he still needed
someone to hit Perry in the back with a golf club to beat
him. He told Davis to bring any weapon he wants to Stadium
Stampede. After that, it’s back to grassroots, where he will
prove he’s a better wrestler than Davis in the Owen Hart
Foundation Tournament! And if Davis doesn’t like that, then
f*** you.

Will Ospreay def. Bang Bang Gang's Ace Austin

Ospreay's first Dynamite entrance in a month got a huge
reaction from the raucous crowd, and the appreciation
continued with a serenade after the bell. Ospreay extended a
hand to Austin, who cautiously accepted the handshake before
the men separated to start the match. Despite expectations,
Ospreay and Austin kept each other close with an exchange of
mat wrestling.

Ospreay fought out of a pair of Austin pin attempts and sent
Austin to the mat with a monkey flip. He took Austin over
with an armdrag and manipulated the arm to stomp it into the
mat. The Death Rider influence was already showing in the
early going. Austin changed the flow of the match with a
trip on Ospreay, followed by a huge leg drop across the
neck. Ospreay kicked out at one. Austin dropped Ospreay with
a neckbreaker, and again, Ospreay kicked out at one. He got
right up and nailed Austin with two stiff shots to the head.
Austin tripped up Ospreay and locked in a bridging neck
crank. Ospreay got to the ropes to break the hold. He spun
out of Austin’s grasp and nailed a big kick to stun Austin.
Ospreay tried a hurricanrana, but the power of Austin
stopped it, as he transitioned into a squat followed by a
Death Valley Driver! Ospreay kicked out at two!

Austin remained in control until Ospreay reversed a charge
in the corner with a kick and followed with a springboard
forearm. Ospreay hit a Manhattan Drop into a kick to the
chest, followed by a standing skytwister press for a near-
fall. Ospreay slammed Austin’s left arm over his shoulder
and began to target the arm with kicks. Austin fought
Ospreay off briefly until Ospreay came off the ropes with a
spinning corkscrew kick. Ospreay tried to dive onto Austin,
but Austin went to the apron and tried to kick Ospreay, who
caught it. Austin used a handstand to avoid Ospreay again
and kicked him through the turnbuckles. With Ospreay
stunned, Austin launched himself over the turnbuckles onto
Ospreay. Austin tried to throw Ospreay back in, but Ospreay
reversed it, so Austin did a handstand, and Ospreay kicked
him in the bad arm. Ospreay went to the top and nailed
Austin in the back of the head! Ospreay hit an OsCutter for
a two-count!

Ospreay measured Austin for the Hidden Blade, but Austin
ducked in time and drove Ospreay’s face into the mat with a
double leg stomp. Austin hit a leaping clothesline into the
corner and followed with a few more. He put Ospreay on the
top turnbuckle and hit an enzuigiri and an outside-in
headscissors that put Ospreay on the mat! Austin ran at
Ospreay for The Fold, so Ospreay lifted him for a powerbomb,
only for Austin to pick Ospreay’s ankle and transition into
a leg-lace pinning predicament. Ospreay just escaped in
time! Austin switched Ospreay from a fireman’s carry into a
flatliner! Ospreay managed to kick out to keep the match
alive, but he was gasping for air.

Austin took time to gather himself and put Ospreay on the
top turnbuckle. Austin followed him up, so Ospreay grabbed
the bad arm and pulled it down to pop it as he dropped to
the mat. Ospreay trapped Austin’s head in the turnbuckles,
but he escaped the Cheeky Nando’s kick to stun Ospreay with
a pair of shots. Austin leaped to the top and came down on
Ospreay, but Ospreay was ready for it and turned the
momentum into a sitout powerbomb! Austin kicked out at two!

They fought back to their feet, although Austin was clearly
favoring his injured arm. Ospreay hit a succession of kicks
to the face, so Austin responded with a back heel kick.
Ospreay answered with a rolling elbow strike and a hook
kick. He tried for a Storm Breaker, but Austin escaped and
got to the corner. He connected with a spin kick from the
second rope and loaded up to take Ospreay out. Ospreay was
ready with a back body drop and a Hidden Blade! Austin
struggled back to his knees as Ospreay got ready for another
Hidden Blade, but Austin crumbled to the mat. As he started
to get back up, Ospreay hauled off with a big kick to the
injured left arm and jumped on Austin with a flying cross-
arm breaker to get an immediate tap out! Ospreay wins and
did so in a way that clearly had Death Riders training as
part of the game plan.

After Ospreay shook Austin’s hand, he was interrupted by The
Opps! Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Anthony Bowens came
out to the top of the stage. Joe and Ospreay will meet at
Double or Nothing in the opening round action of the Owen
Hart Foundation Tournament. Joe called out, “Ospreay,” over
and over again, which turned into the typical chant from the
crowd. Joe just wanted to make sure Ospreay was hearing him.
Fate has put them on a collision course in the Owen Hart
Foundation Tournament. Ospreay could have had a bye in the
first round because that’s what Joe does for his people. He
could have been part of a team with The Opps, and instead,
he’s decided to be a lap dog for Jon Moxley and the Death
Riders.

“So, Will, unfortunately, you made your choice. And come
Double or Nothing, you suffer the consequences. But I leave
you in peace tonight. I have my date with destiny, so be
well, Will. But unfortunately, my friends here feel kind of
slighted, and I don’t put leashes on my friends!”

Shibata and Bowens went to the ring and got on the apron,
but everything stopped when the music of the Death Riders
blared in the arena. The Death Riders came out through the
crowd and circled the ring before joining Ospreay on the
apron. Shibata and Bowens regrouped with Joe and considered
charging back into the ring, but thought better of it and
backed off, as they didn’t have HOOK tonight. The Opps left,
and Ospreay watched as the Death Riders exited, but not
before sharing what appeared to be a nod of appreciation for
Moxley.

Konosuke Takeshita is Ready to Bring the AEW World Title
Back to the Don Callis Family!

Renee Paquette was with Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis to
ask Takeshita about walking into Double or Nothing against
AEW International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada
as the AEW World Champion. Callis went to answer, but MJF
interrupted, saying hello. He told Takeshita it had been a
while since they talked. Three years in fact, when they
wrestled, and MJF beat him. Since then, he’s seen Takeshita
evolve into one of the best wrestlers in the world. That’s
why tonight Takeshita’s going to beat Darby Allin for the
AEW World Title, and then he’s going to beat Okada at Double
or Nothing. And MJF can’t think of a better idea than MJF
vs. Takeshita 2 for the AEW World Title, so how does that
sound?

Takeshita shook MJF’s hand and smiled while saying something
in Japanese. Takeshita left, and Callis complimented MJF’s
pep talk. MJF said he didn’t mean a word of it, and he’s
having a full-blown panic attack. He said Takeshita needs to
win because MJF can’t turn into some disgusting, bald freak.

“No offense, you look great.”

MJF said there’s only one foolproof way to know that he
won’t be put in a situation where he has to put his hair on
the line, so if things get hairy, he wanted Callis to
utilize the Dynamite Diamond Ring, which he handed off to
Callis. As that happened, Andrade walked in and removed his
hat to show off his beautiful mane. He smiled, and MJF
walked off in a huff. Callis said tonight, Takeshita will
bring the AEW World Title back to the Don Callis Family.

Andrade asked, “How you know?” Callis tried to level with
Andrade, but Andrade simply said, “Next time, it needs to be
my turn.” Callis cowered and said he understood.

Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Bracket Revealed!

On the women’s side, we found out the four quarterfinal
matches, which included TBS Champion Willow Nightingale vs.
Alex Windsor at Double or Nothing. The winner of that will
face the winner of Persephone vs. Hazuki. On the other side
of the bracket, Mina Shirakawa takes on ROH Women’s Champion
Athena, and Skye Blue faces Japanese standout Sareee!

The Conglomeration Makes Championship Plans

Renee Paquette congratulated The Conglomeration on their win
tonight, but noted there was other business to handle.
Orange Cassidy said they don’t know which two members will
take their AEW World Tag Team Title shot. Kyle O’Reilly said
it should be Cassidy and Roderick Strong. Strong loudly
thanked KYLE. O’Reilly said he has gold of his own to go
after because he tapped out someone twice before he went on
the shelf, and that person will submit again. So Jon Moxley,
Continental Champ, when are we doing this?

Willow Nightingale pulled her TBS Championship out of her
backpack. She said she’s the TBS Champion, but she’s in the
Owen and has won it before. So it’s time to do it all over
again, so she can have all the gold at All In: London.
Cassidy said they should do the word of the day because they
haven’t done it in a while, but he wasn’t sure why. Strong
yelled, “MARK!”

And Mark Briscoe made his long-awaited return! He said the
word of the day is “reunification” because he is back with
his boys and his girls in The Conglomeration! He called out
Tommaso Ciampa for a match next Wednesday on Dynamite! But
before that, this Saturday night, Collision is in Briscoe’s
hometown, and they are gonna conglomerate in Salisbury!

Trios Match: The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex
Windsor) & Hikaru Shida def. Triangle of Madness (AEW
Women's World Champion Thekla, Skye Blue and Julia Hart) by
disqualification

Hayter and Thekla circled each other to start the match, but
that allowed Blue and Hart to attack Hayter from behind.
Windsor and Shida came in to even the odds. They cleared
Triangle of Madness from the ring and paired off. Shida
mounted Blue near one guardrail while Windsor did the same
to Hart at another, and Hayter had Thekla trapped in the
ropes. They all dished out 10 punches! Hayter continued to
stomp Thekla away in the ring, but on the outside, Windsor
and Blue fought on the barricade until Blue knocked Windsor
to the floor. Hayter and Windsor came back to throw Blue
from the barricade to the apron! Thekla came off the top to
take out The Brawling Birds with a huge crossbody to the
floor!

Triangle of Madness isolated Hayter in their corner and kept
her from Windsor and Shida for an extended period until
Hayter finally got loose. When she made it to her corner,
Shida backed away from Hayter and then tagged in. She
stacked up Thekla and Hart in the corner and connected with
a running knee. With Thekla lying across the second ropes,
Shida suplexed Hart into Thekla in the corner! Shida hit a
vertical suplex on Thekla for a near-fall. She traded huge
strikes with Thekla and tried to come back with a pump kick,
but Thekla avoided and hit another strike to put Shida down.
Blue and Hart came in for double-team offense, and Thekla
went into her spider walk to set Shida up for a spear! She
connected and covered Shida, so Hayter and Windsor came in
to break it up. Windsor came in and peppered Thekla with
some big shots. She held Thekla for Two Birds, One Stone,
but Blue pulled Hayter to the floor and sent her into the
steel steps. Back in the ring, Hayter intercepted Blue with
a backbreaker, so Hart dropped Hayter with a lungblower.
Windsor hit a pop-up powerbomb on Hart, but wasn’t aware
that Blue made a blind tag. Blue went for Code Blue, so
Windsor pushed her off, and Blue came back with a thrust
kick. Windsor answered with a headbutt! Hayter and Windsor
met in the middle with lariats on Blue. They set her up for
Two Birds, One Stone, but as Hayter came off the ropes,
Thekla blasted her with the AEW Women’s World Championship
to cause the disqualification. Triangle of Madness kept the
attack on the Brawling Birds in the ring, as referees ran
out to stop it, but Hart sprayed black mist at one of them!

Meanwhile, Shida thought better of helping and decided to
leave. Still, she was passed by TBS Champion Willow
Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa and Thunder Rosa, who hit the
ring to run off Triangle of Madness. However, the damage may
have already been done to Hayter and Windsor.

And before our main event, we took a look at the dominance
of El Toro Blanco, RUSH!

AEW World Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) def. "The
Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita of the Don Callis Family

During Takeshita’s entrance, Renee Paquette reported from
ringside that Takeshita’s game plan against Allin will be
the same as when he defeated them in their lone singles
match back in 2024. As Allin made another electric
championship entrance, Callis joined commentary.

Allin dropkicked Takeshita out of the ring as soon as the
bell rang! He charged through the ropes, but Takeshita
caught him and threw Allin into the barricades before
returning him to the ring. Allin pulled himself up the ropes
on the apron only for Takeshita to boot him to the floor.
Takeshita threw Allin in the ring for a pin attempt, but
obviously, Allin was far from done. Takeshita dropped Allin
with a massive forearm. Takeshita started at Allin and then
threw him across the ring, head over heels, into the
turnbuckles. Takeshita put Allin on the top turnbuckle, but
Allin punched Takeshita back to the mat. Allin launched
himself at Takeshita from the top, but simply bounced off
the bigger Takeshita.

Takeshita sent Allin high into the air with a back body
drop, so Allin rolled to the outside. Takeshita followed,
and Allin slapped him with defiance. Takeshita answered with
a series of kneelifts against the barricade. Takeshita threw
Allin into the barricade, and we saw Allin bleeding from the
mouth. Takeshita set up the steel steps and tried to throw
Allin into them, so Allin stopped it with a deep back rake.
Takeshita came back with a forearm that sent Allin to the
floor against the steel steps. Takeshita tried the Power
Drive Knee and hit the steel steps! Allin jumped off the
steps with a shotgun dropkick to Takeshita! Allin got back
in the ring and limped into a torpedo dive to the floor,
which sent both men into the commentary desk.

Allin and Takeshita fought on the apron, where Allin tried
to springboard into a Coffin Drop, but Takeshita caught him
and swung Allin into a Blue Thunder Bomb to the floor!
Takeshita kept the pressure on, with Allin showing no signs
of fighting back. Finally, Allin locked on a guillotine
choke to block a kick, but Takeshita got out of it. Allin
tried for a Code Red, so Takeshita caught him and sat down
with a crunchy slam. He lifted Allin back up from the ground
for a wheelbarrow German Suplex! Takeshita hit a running
boot to Allin in the corner and put him on the top
turnbuckle. Takeshita went up to meet Allin and brought him
all the way down to the mat with an avalanche German Suplex,
which he held on to bridge at the end! Allin kicked out!

Takeshita lined up for and crushed Allin with the Power
Drive Knee! Allin kicked out again! El Clon ran down and got
on the apron, so the referee stopped him. Callis came off
commentary to give Takeshita the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Takeshita considered putting the ring on his finger, but
tossed it aside and told Callis, "No!"

Takeshita turned around into an inside cradle from Allin,
but kicked out in time! Takeshita leveled Allin with an
elbow strike! He put Allin back on the top turnbuckle for
what appeared to be an avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb, but
Allin stopped Takeshita and hit an avalanche Code Red
instead! He stepped through for the Last Supper pin, but
Takeshita kicked out at two! Takeshita rolled to the floor,
so Allin went to the top and nailed the challenger with a
Coffin Drop to the floor! Both men struggled to get off the
floor as the referee counted, and as Allin made it to the
apron, Takeshita yanked him back to the floor and rolled in
to break the count.

Takeshita came back out and pulled Allin up from the floor
to where he was standing on the steel steps, but Darby got
loose and reversed it into a Scorpion Death Drop on the
steel! Allin limped back into the ring and returned to the
top, where he launched himself onto Takeshita with a Coffin
Drop to the floor! Allin rolled Takeshita in for the cover,
but Takeshita kicked out! Allin went back up for a Coffin
Drop, but this time he landed on Takeshita’s knees!
Takeshita rolled Allin into a crucifix, but Allin kicked out
only to eat a Power Drive Knee! Takeshita lifted Allin for a
powerbomb, which Allin reversed and locked in a Scorpion
Death Lock! Takeshita took a lot of time, although he
finally made it to the ropes to break the hold. As soon as
Allin saw that, he let go and went to the top for a Coffin
Drop that connected! Allin went up once again and hit
another Coffin Drop to get the pinfall victory! He’s done it
again!

MJF Signs Hair vs. Title Contract, Attacks Darby

Allin struggled for breath but called out MJF to sign the
contract for Double or Nothing. As a table and chairs were
set up in the ring with the contract, MJF made his way to
the ring. He clearly looked concerned about the situation,
while Allin smiled! Allin signed the contract first. MJF
grabbed a pen, but couldn’t bring himself to sign!

MJF instead took the time to run down Allin. He said deep
down, a small part of him feels bad for Allin because he’ll
never be the AEW World Champion again. Allin has as much of
a chance to be AEW World Champion again as “Hangman” Adam
Page does. MJF says it’s all about legacy. Allin had his 15
minutes of fame, but now it’s over, and MJF will become a
three-time AEW World Champion!

MJF still hadn’t signed the contract, so Allin told him to
live in the here and now and sign it. MJF finally signed and
then attacked Allin! Allin, who was still exhausted from his
fifth AEW World Title match in less than a month, couldn’t
do much of anything to fight back. MJF laid out Allin with
the Dynamite Diamond Ring and posed with the AEW World Title
before dropping it on Allin’s chest. MJF left the ring and
then looked back at Allin. He put Allin on the top rope and
went up to destroy Allin with an avalanche tombstone, but
TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight came out to run MJF off
and save Allin! MJF retreated up the ramp while Knight
checked on Allin, as Dynamite came to a close!
