JOHN LAURINAITIS: John Laurinaitis denies covering up Ashley Massaro’s rape allegation

John Laurinaitis’ attorney Edward Brennan has refused the
allegation that his client helped cover up an alleged rape
on Ashley Massaro during a WWE tour in Kuwait in a new story
posted by VICE News.

Massaro is said to have been raped in 2006 after being
injected with a paralyzing drug by someone who said was a
U.S. Army doctor. Massaro reported the allegations to the
top WWE execs, including Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis
who were on the same tour, but was told not to talk about
it.

“Any allegations that Mr. Laurinaitus helped to cover up an
alleged rape allegation is an outright lie,” Brennan told
VICE News. “Johnny, like most upper level management at
sometime became aware of the allegations and ensured all
proper WWE protocols were followed, including privacy for
the alleged victim. We object to the use of the term cover
up as no such plan or plot ever took place to hide or assist
in the alleged rape.”

VICE also revealed that NCIS opened an investigation into
Massaro’s allegations a month after she committed suicide in
mid-2019. The investigation took six months and was wrapped
up in January 2020 according to an NCIS spokesman but no
information could be released unless it was through a
Freedom of Information Act.

An in-depth look at Massaro’s claim and the aftermath can be
