ASUKA: Report: Asuka remains part of the WWE roster, expected to return

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting through his Select
service that Asuka signed a long-term deal with the company
in 2024 and remains part of the WWE roster.

The former champion is expected to take a leave of absence
and be off television for a while, hence the goodbyes from
the weekend at Backlash, but Sapp adds that those in the
company believe that she will be back and has not wrestled
her final match yet.

While the length of the contract was not revealed, it is
believed to be a five-year deal, although contracts in
today’s TKO world don’t mean much as they have already
started restructuring previously-signed contract to benefit
the company.

The New Day also were on new long-term deals, signed last
year, and were asked to take a pay cut as part of the
restructured deal, a deal which both Kofi Kingston and Xavier
Woods refused which led to their departure.
