ALL ELITE WRESTLING COLLIION FAIRWAY TO HELL/TBS/MAX: May 9 report

Posted on 5/10/126 by Bob Magee

For the first time ever, we went tee-to-green for AEW
Collision: Fairway to Hell, which was live on TBS and HBO
Max for this special 1-hour event from Sofi Center in West
Palm Beach, Florida.

AEW World Champion Darby Allin took full advantage of the
no-countout stipulation in his second defense of the week
against PAC! Allin started the match near the green and
wound up battling in and out of the sand traps with the
dangerous Death Rider. Somehow, Allin survived a balcony
fall through a stack of four tables to overcome the Death
Riders’ interference and beat PAC to retain his AEW World
Title for the second time this week. We also found out that
“The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita will face Allin for the AEW
World Title this Wednesday on Dynamite, with AEW
International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada away
on family business in Japan.

The night began with a rematch for the AEW National
Championship, as “Jungle” Jack Perry took on Mark Davis of
the Don Callis Family. What we didn’t expect was an
appearance from Ricochet, who blasted Perry with a golf club
behind the referee’s back, which allowed Davis to piledrive
Perry to win the AEW National Title! We later learned that
Perry would be looking to bring The Elite to Stadium
Stampede at Double or Nothing. At the same time, Ricochet
recruited Davis to his side, who apparently won’t be the
only Callis Family member on the team.

Plus, we learned Will Ospreay will return to action on
Dynamite this Wednesday! And on that same night, we’ll find
out the brackets for this year’s Owen Hart Foundation
Tournament!

After one of the most exciting and unique nights in AEW
history, here are your complete Collision results!

AEW National Championship Match: Mark Davis of the Don
Callis Family def. “Jungle” Jack Perry (c)

We teed off with the latest stop on Jack Perry’s National
Tour, a rematch from AEW Dynasty Zero Hour against Mark
Davis for the National Championship! Renee Paquette brought
us a report from the green, saying that Mark Davis promised
to bring the AEW National Title back to the Don Callis
Family.

Despite the size disadvantage, Perry took it right to Davis
from the jump, and while Davis got in a few shots, Perry
used his quick strikes and speed to get an early advantage.
Perry hit the first big move of the match with a moonsault
from the top rope to the floor on Davis. Perry got way more
than a golf clap for that amazing effort. Perry nailed Davis
with a dropkick on the floor, but when he tried to follow up
with a swinging kick from the ring post, Davis caught him
and threw him into the steel. Perry stumbled right into a
massive lariat from Davis. Davis broke the count and
returned to the floor to chop Perry right in the chest,
which brought the champion to his knees. After returning
Perry to the ring, Davis pulled his hair in the ropes to
bend Perry backward until the referee reached his five
count. Perry got back up and tried to trade chops with
Davis, but Davis quickly chopped him down to the mat. Davis
took Perry from one corner and threw him all the way across
the ring.

Perry started to mount a comeback with some sticking and
moving, but when he tried to springboard back in the ring,
Davis leveled him with a huge forearm and followed with a
shoulder tackle to knock Perry from the apron to the floor!
Davis’ domination of Perry continued for several minutes, as
his brutality was on full display in what might be
considered his mulligan for the AEW National Title. Perry
started to battle his way back with strikes, but ran into an
elbow from Davis in the corner. Davis put Perry on the top
turnbuckle, so Perry stopped him with a bite to the hand!
Perry launched himself over Davis with an avalanche sunset
flip, but Davis kicked out in the nick of time! The two
fought on the apron, where Davis clothelined Perry against
the ropes and then tried for a brainbuster, but Perry kneed
himself free. A thrust kick stunned Davis long enough for
Perry to hit a hurricanrana from the turnbuckles to the
floor!

The crowd exploded, and Perry had new life!

Perry came off the top with an elbow to the back of Davis on
the mat. Once again, Davis was able to kick out! Perry lined
Davis up for a running knee, but Davis cut him off with a
massive lariat! Davis threw Perry into the corner and ran
across the ring with a diving forearm! This time, Perry
kicked out at two! Davis tried a momentum clothesline on
Perry, but Perry cut him off with a hurricanrana for another
near-fall. Perry tried to go into a combination, so Davis
stopped him with a discus lariat! Davis quickly grabbed
Perry and dropped him on his head with Close Your Eyes and
Count to Three! But Perry didn’t let the referee get to
three with another kickout! Davis had Perry on the
turnbuckles, looking for another piledriver, but Perry
turned it into a hurricanrana. Don Callis ran from
commentary and got on the apron to distract the referee,
which allowed Ricochet to run in with what looked like a 6-
iron to smash Perry across the back! Ricochet hid, while
Davis hit Perry with Close Your Eyes and Count to Three for
a second time! Davis covered Perry for the three-count!
Davis is the NEW AEW National Champion!

Nick Wayne Enters His Second NJPW Best of the Super Juniors

For the second straight year, ROH World Television Champion
Nick Wayne will be part of the NJPW Best of the Super
Juniors tournament in Japan over the next month. Wayne had
four impressive wins last year and looks to achieve even
more this year at the tournament, ultimately aiming to
become the youngest tourney winner in history!

Will Ospreay Returns to Action on Dynamite vs. Ace Austin!

Renee Paquette gave us breaking news! Will Ospreay has been
cleared for competition and will return to action this
Wednesday on Dynamite against Bang Bang Gang’s Ace Austin!

“Jungle” Jack Perry is Bringing The Elite to Stadium
Stampede

We came back to see Perry finishing a phone call by saying,
“Let’s do it. Thank you, guys.” After he hung up, Perry
angrily pushed away some of the ice that was strapped to his
back after Ricochet’s golf club attack. Perry said winning
the AEW National Championship in front of his hometown,
friends and family was one of the proudest moments of his
career. And Don Callis and Ricochet just ended that for him.
Perry said he knows Jericho and Hurt Syndicate are looking
for two more partners to join his team at Stadium Stampede.
So Perry got to thinking with the show being called Double
or Nothing, instead of bringing two, he brings four! The
Elite! The Young Bucks, himself and Kenny Omega!

Ricochet Recruits The Don Callis Family for Stadium Stampede

The NEW AEW National Champion, Mark Davis, was backstage
with Don Callis and Ricochet, so Renee Paquette asked for
their reaction to Perry’s Double or Nothing plans. Callis
said he’s thrilled because Perry just gifted Callis his
fantasy: an opportunity to beat up Jericho, the Young Bucks
and Kenny Omega in one night! Callis would pay for that, but
Perry, whom he called a dumbass, is giving it to him for
free. Ricochet asked if that meant the Don Callis Family
would be joining him for Stadium Stampede. Callis said he’ll
give him Davis, but he knows Ricochet needs more, so they
should go talk it over with a drink at the 19th hole!

Divine Dominion 5-Minute Challenge: AEW Women’s World Tag
Team Champions Divine Dominion (“Colossal” Lena Kross and
“Megasus” Megan Bayne) def. Ruthie Slay & Rachel Ley

As Kross and Bayne came to the ring, we heard pre-recorded
comments from them, which were the announcement of the
Divine Dominion 5-Minute Challenge. If anyone can last five
minutes with them, they get an AEW Women’s World Tag Team
Championship shot! You don’t have to beat them, you just
have to survive.

Slay and Ley each tried to kick Kross down at the bell to no
avail. They attempted to take her to the ropes, but instead
she sent them to the ropes and dropped Slay with a shoulder
tackle. Kross spun Ley around for a huge sidewalk slam. She
picked Slay back up and bodyslammed her on Ley! Kross sent
Ley to the Divine Dominion corner and nailed her with a back
elbow before tagging Bayne for the first time. Kross hit a
running boot from one corner, and Bayne followed with a pump
kick from the opposite corner. Bayne threw Ley out of the
corner with a release German Suplex. Kross came back in and
did the same. Bayne tagged back in and pulled Ley up for a
deadlift release German Suplex. Bayne put Ley on her back,
so she didn’t see Slay make a blind tag. Slay dove at Bayne,
who caught her while still holding Ley! She launched Slay
with a fallaway slam while dropping Ley with a Samoan Drop!
Kross came back in for Divine Intervention on Slay to get
the dominant victory.

AEW Women’s World Championship 4-Way at Double or Nothing!

After reviewing the wildly chaotic and competitive events in
the AEW women’s division, we learned that AEW Women’s World
Champion Thekla would defend her title in a 4-Way against
three former champions, Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and
Jamie Hayter, at Double or Nothing!

Brackets to Be Announced for Owen Hart Foundation Tournament
on Dynamite!

We learned that both the women’s and men’s brackets for the
2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will be revealed this
Wednesday on Dynamite!

Konosuke Takeshita Replacing Kazuchika Okada in Wednesday’s
AEW World Title Match!

Callis said no matter who wins the AEW World Title main
event tonight between Darby Allin and PAC, the Don Callis
Family will be waiting for them on Wednesday at Dynamite.
Callis said Okada had to go to Japan to handle important
family business, but he had someone in mind to take Okada’s
spot in the AEW World Title match on Dynamite: the first-
born of the Don Callis Family, “The Alpha” Konosuke
Takeshita! Callis told Takeshita that if he listened to him,
he would be AEW World Champion. Callis plucked Takeshita
from obscurity to replace Kenny Omega.

“You’re the best wrestler in the world when you’ve got my
game plan in your head. Go win the title!”

Takeshita responded, “Don, I’m still going to take the
International Title. But now, I’m the person who will bring
the World Title back to the Don Callis Family…unlike Okada.”

As we prepared for a standby match, we took a look at the
successful return of Kyle O’Reilly, who won the AEW World
Trios Titles from The Dogs with Roderick Strong and Orange
Cassidy at Dynasty. This Wednesday on Dynamite, Cassidy will
team with the Young Bucks and Adam Copeland and Christian
Cage against The Dogs, AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and
“Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa!

“Speedball” Mike Bailey def. Kiran Grey

Before the main event, we had time for a standby match, and
it was time for Speedball! He came to the ring with TNT
Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight. That didn’t seem to
intimidate Grey, who pushed Bailey in the back before the
bell. That fired Bailey up, as he quickly took off his
entrance gear and kicked Grey in the face at the bell!
Bailey followed with a kick to the chest of the seated Grey
and then crushed him with a standing moonsault knee drop!
Bailey measured for another kick, but Grey ducked out of the
way and rolled to the floor. Bailey immediately followed
with a triangle moonsault to Grey on the floor! Bailey went
to the top, and Grey tried to follow, but Bailey knocked him
back to the mat. Grey dove to the ropes to knock Bailey down
on the turnbuckles. With Bailey trapped, Grey went up to
stomp on Bailey. Bailey caught a foot and nailed Grey with a
forearm before smashing him into the turnbuckles. With Grey
bent over, Bailey flattened him with Ultima Weapon to get
the pinfall victory!

Knight grabbed the mic and said he liked what he saw from
Speedball. He said Bailey is red hot, and even though he
wasn’t able to become Jet2Belts this past Wednesday on
Dynamite, The Jet is still the face of TNT. Knight said the
future of AEW is wide open, so why don’t they make it to the
top together! Bailey and Knight celebrated with each other
and the fans!

Before the main event, we took a look at Allin’s AEW World
Title reign, as PAC’s ominous words played over images of
their violent history. PAC’s shot at Darby Allin’s AEW World
Title is next!

AEW World Championship Match (No Count Outs): Darby Allin
(c) def. Death Riders’ “The Bastard” PAC

When the bell rang, Allin decided to leave the ring and went
to the green! PAC and the referee followed, and the brawl
began near the sand traps! When there are no count outs, you
can take the fight anywhere!

Allin stunned PAC and got a running start to hit a Code Red
into the bunker! That is certainly a first in pro wrestling!
PAC came out of the bunker covered in sand, as none of the
Death Riders were out there to caddie for him. They battled
near another bunker, and Allin sent PAC head over heels into
the sand with a shotgun dropkick! Allin tried to follow
after him, and PAC threw sand in his eyes! PAC threw Allin
back into the bunker with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.
PAC climbed over to Allin and locked in the Brutalizer in
the middle of the bunker! Of course, you can’t win the match
there!

PAC kept the offense going with a gorilla press slam into
the bunker! Finally, PAC decided to bring Allin back to the
ring, as that was the only place he could actually win the
match and the AEW World Title. PAC tied the tag rope around
Allin’s neck in the corner. Allin was trapped! PAC hit a
pump kick, so Allin spat in his face. PAC hit another and
pulled Allin violently out of the corner. PAC hit a nasty
backbody drop on Allin and loaded up for the momentum
clothesline. Allin was ready for it and dove at PAC to trip
him. He flipped back in the ring and put PAC on the mat with
a Scorpion Death Drop! PAC kicked out at two! Allin went to
the top rope and waited for PAC to get up, but he waited too
long, and PAC tripped him onto the turnbuckles. PAC went up
and brought him down with an Avalanche Falcon Arrow! PAC
covered, but Allin was able to kick out to save his AEW
World Championship reign! PAC argued with the ref about the
count while Allin rolled to the outside.

PAC retrieved a table from under the table, as Allin
struggled to get back to his feet with what appeared to be
an injured hip. PAC put Allin on the table and went to the
top rope. He tried a shooting star press, but Allin moved
just in time, and PAC crashed through the table onto the
floor! Allin sensed it could be his moment and got PAC back
in the ring for a Scorpion Death Lock! PAC tried to get to
the bottom rope and finally did, but damage was clearly
done! PAC waved to the back, so Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia
and Wheeler Yuta ran out, which was enough to distract Allin
long enough for PAC to nail him from behind. PAC sent Garcia
and Yuta back, and they returned with another table! PAC
carried Allin up the steps and tombstoned him on the steel!

As Shafir looked on, we saw that Yuta and Garcia created a
double stack of four tables in the aisle! PAC carried Allin
past the tables and all the way up the aisle into the
backstage area. PAC continued to assault Allin and brought
him up the steps towards the top of the arena. PAC brought
Allin back into the arena and to a balcony area above the
tables. PAC grabbed Allin near the edge, but Allin fought
back! Shafir tried to get involved, but the referee stopped
her, and PAC hit a low blow! PAC threw Allin off the balcony
through the stacked tables! That was every bit of a 15-foot
drop!

PAC finally made it down to the floor and brought Allin back
in the ring for a pin attempt. 1-2-ALLIN KICKED OUT! DARBY
ALLIN IS ALIVE! PAC IS STUNNED!

PAC sat in the corner and shook his head, clearly shocked
that the match was still going on. Yuta tried to bring a
chair into the ring, so the referee went out to stop him,
which allowed Shafir to put the AEW World Title in the ring
for PAC! Allin jumped up and yelled at PAC as he felt blood
coming from the back of his head! Allin stopped PAC’s
attempt at a belt shot with a kick to PAC’s golf balls! He
grabbed his AEW World Title and smashed PAC in the head!
Allin went up top and nailed a Coffin Drop! Allin covered
PAC, and three seconds later, one of the most special AEW
World Title matches ever came to an end with Allin retaining
the AEW World Championship for the second time this week!
The Death Riders helped PAC to the back as Allin was tended
to in the ring, holding his AEW World Title. And he better
heal quickly, because on Dynamite this Wednesday, Allin will
defend the AEW World Title yet again when he faces a man who
owns a past victory over him, “The Alpha” Konosuke
Takeshita!

We hope you enjoyed Fairway to Hell as much as we did!
