AEW World champion appeared in studio on the Adam Friedland
podcast this week to discuss wrestling psychology, being
better than everyone else, and tests Adam on his insult
skills.

“When it comes to Adam Friedland, this dumb, disgusting
sniveling hebe, with a rape mustache,” MJF says. “That four-
eyed piece of sh*t is going to go down.”

“Dude, I hate you so much,” Adam says.

“Hell yeah,” MJF says.

“Your mom had sex with every single guy at the company,”
Adam says. “Even the guys that cleaned the bathrooms…”

“Okay,” MJF says.

“Not only them, just guys that live near the building,” Adam
says.

MJF bursts out laughing.

Some more highlights from the episode.

Adam tries to improve MJF’s catchphrase:

“‘I’m Maxwell Jacob Friedman and I’m better than you and you
know it’,” MJF says. “And it’s effective.”

“I’ll give you a couple notes,” Adam says. “You need
something that enters the cultural zeitgeist. When DX did
two words, ‘Suck it’, it caused an epidemic in middle
school.”

“Oh yeah, children just pointing at their crotches,” MJF
laughs.

“I just think that ‘I’m better than you’ is a thing rich
girls in high school say,” Adam says.

On Kids f*cking themselves up copying MJF’s moves:

“A kid may have died trying to do one of your moves,” Adam
says.

“Oh, there are plenty of kids who are paralyzed, and I think
that’s funny,” MJF says. “The fact that all wrestling fans
are still breathing is a testament to the human race and our
toughness.”

On the fake pilot who tried to abduct MJF:

“Before security comes, QT goes, ‘Wait a minute, wait a
minute, we’ll let you go if you show us your pilot’s
license,'” MJF explains. “I sh*t you not, the guy does this
[pat’s down his chest], ‘Ah! I left it at home!’ Get the
fuck out of here! So, then they throw the guy in the brigg.”

“How did he get access to you?” Adam asks.

“We still don’t know how he got backstage,” MJF says. “They
asked this guy what he was planning on doing, and he was
honest. He said he was going to abduct me.”

“An adult man!” Adam laughs.

On MJF’s goals:

“I’m here to be a star,” MJF says. “I’m here to make the
most money. I’m here to be world champion. I’m here to be a
draw. I’m about to start doing big movies. I’m here to make
a name for myself and build my brand up to such a point that
I become synonymous with not just elite wrestling, but
wrestling as a whole.”

How MJF became famous:

“Little by little,” MJF says. “It was momentum, which I
think you can relate to, specifically with Cum Town. You
guys were doing funny bit after funny bit, and little by
little it started getting traction. Then you started doing
this, and you got some serious traction. That was my
wrestling career. Every single shot I was doing, you had
people going, “Fuck… this MJF kid, he’s something special.”
