AEW Dynamite was LIVE from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on TBS
and HBO Max! As AEW Dynasty fast approaches this Sunday in
Vancouver, British Columbia, there was a lot to settle on
the final Dynamite before a massive PPV event this weekend!
The night began with a parking lot brawl between Will
Ospreay and Jon Moxley, and it seemed like Ospreay was
totally outnumbered by the Death Riders, until United Empire
and Alex Windsor showed up to make it a fair fight. Both
sides brawled into the arena, where Ospreay made the
challenge for an 8-Man Chaos in Canada main event! And after
plenty of chaos, Ospreay pinned Moxley following a Hidden
Blade through a table in that match!
Kenny Omega and AEW World Champion MJF met face-to-face at
the end of the night, but it was Omega outsmarting MJF by
avoiding a cheap shot and dropping the AEW World Champ with
a knee to the face! Omega promised to end MJF’s reign at
Dynasty!
With Kyle Fletcher forced to vacate the TNT Title due to
injury, Tony Khan decided that a new champion would be
crowned at Dynasty in a Casino Gauntlet! Tommaso Ciampa
defeated Máscara Dorada to earn the #1 entry as another step
toward regaining the TNT Championship he won in his AEW
debut!
And Chris Jericho signed his new AEW contract and exercised
a special clause to make Ricochet his opponent for Dynasty
after The Demand confronted Jericho in the ring!
All that, plus new matches for Dynasty and Collision were
made in Edmonton! Here are your complete results!

Death Riders and United Empire Brawl in Parking Lot!
Dynamite got a jump start when Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley
were found brawling in the parking lot, and it didn’t take
long for the rest of the Death Riders to show up. However,
Ospreay wasn’t outnumbered for long, as his fiancée, Alex
Windsor, arrived with members of United Empire, all suited
for action! IWGP World Champion Callum Newman, HENARE and
Francisco Akira came out of a black SUV and faced off with
the Death Riders! The fight was on!
Yuta and Castagnoli tried to suplex HENARE onto a car, but
Akira stopped them and dove off the car's roof onto
Castagnoli. HENARE fought back against Yuta and headbutted
him into the hood of the car! Back in the arena, Marina
Shafir and Windsor fought down the ramp and were soon
followed by Newman and PAC and Ospreay and Moxley, who made
it all the way to the ring! Shafir got loose from Windsor
and put a choke on Ospreay, but Windsor came back to lay out
Shafir with a clothesline! Windsor dove off the apron with a
cannonball onto Shafir!
Garcia and Moxley double-teamed Ospreay until HENARE ran
down and pounced Moxley from the ring! Akira soon followed
to take it to Garcia, with HENARE launching him into Garcia
for a torpedo dropkick in the corner! PAC got in the ring to
attack HENARE, but couldn’t knock him off his feet! Newman
came from out of nowhere to take PAC out with a big boot and
a huge crossbody to the floor! Castagnoli charged into the
ring and lit up HENARE with uppercuts, yet it still wasn’t
enough to take HENARE off his feet! HENARE responded with a
stiff shot to the gut and took both himself and Castagnoli
over the top rope! Ospreay and Moxley wound up back in the
ring, and Moxley caught Ospreay in a choke until he rolled
out of it to set up Newman for a double stomp from the top
rope onto Moxley! Ospreay picked up Moxley for what appeared
to be a Tiger Driver, but Moxley bailed and regrouped with
the Death Riders in the crowd.
Ospreay got on the mic and told Moxley he took his advice
and used his head, so he brought in backup in the form of
United Empire and Alex Windsor! He challenged the Death
Riders to face them tonight!
Don Callis Acknowledges TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher’s Injury
Callis said that Fletcher is injured and out of action,
which had first been shared by Tony Khan earlier in the day
on social media, so he can no longer be the TNT Champion.
The new TNT Champion will be decided in a Casino Gauntlet
Match this Sunday at Dynasty! Callis also said he had been
negotiating for ProtOkada to face the Young Bucks at
Dynasty, but now that is off.
However, Callis said he has a pivot that will blow
everyone’s mind. Callis brought up the supposed issues
between Kazuchika Okada and Takeshita and said he likes it
when two guys don’t get along. If you’re waiting for Okada
and Takeshita to wrestle against each other, then too bad!
Callis went on to declare that the Don Callis Family will be
stronger than ever after Andrade beats Allin tonight in
Trios action tonight and then again on Sunday at Dynasty.
“And we will do it for Kyle! Kyle Fletcher Strong, brother!”
Trios Match: Don Callis Family (Andrade El Ídolo, Mark Davis
and NJPW World TV Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita)
def. Darby Allin, ROH World Champion Bandido and AEW
National Champion “Jungle” Jack Perry
Three of AEW’s most popular wrestlers came together to form
this unique trios squad to face an all-star team from the
Callis Family, despite the violent history between Allin and
Perry, as Bandido was taking the place of Brody King, who
missed Dynamite due to personal reasons.
Allin and Andrade appeared prepared to give us a preview of
their match on Sunday, but Andrade tagged out to Takeshita
and left up the ramp in a puzzling display of strategy.
Allin almost immediately hit Takeshita with a Code Red, but
Davis came in to grab Allin for a piledriver, only for Perry
to come off the top with a dropkick that sent Davis to the
outside! Bandido and Allin climbed adjacent corners with
Bandido crashing down onto Takeshita and Allin nailing Davis
with a Coffin Drop! Allin grabbed the mic and called Andrade
back to the ring! Andrade appeared on top of the ramp, and
Allin went after him, but Takeshita grabbed Allin from
behind and rolled Allin into a double-rotation German suplex
down the ramp and to the floor!
Takeshita handled Allin with relative ease back in the ring
after he did so much damage on the outside. Perry got a tag
and sent Takeshita to the floor with an armdrag. Davis
charged after Perry, so he low-bridged the top rope, and
Davis splatted to the floor. Perry quickly got to the ropes
and took out both Takeshita and Davis with a moonsault!
Perry went back to the top, but Davis slowed him long enough
for Takeshita to recover and smash Perry with a forearm as
the AEW National Champion came off the top rope! Back on the
floor, Andrade dropped Perry neck-first on the railing! He
took some time to give yet another adoring fan his attention
for a selfie.
Perry struggled to get anywhere near a tag for several
minutes until finally tagging Bandido for the first time in
the match! Bandido nailed a pump kick on Takekshita, and
then Davis threw Bandido into Takeshita, who came out of
Takeshita’s grip with a hurricanrana to Davis! Bandido press
slammed Takeshita onto Davis in an incredible display of
strength! Bandido lined up Takeshita for a 21 Plex, but
Takeshita was ready for it and tried a Blue Thunder Bomb,
only for Bandido to escape and hit a pump kick. Takeshita
came back with a Blue Thunder Bomb to get a nearfall! Davis
tagged back in and spit at Allin on the apron. Davis put
Bandido down with a massive enzigiri, but Bandido turned it
around with a hurricanrana that nearly won the match.
Bandido crushed Davis with a thrust kick, which left him
open for an elbow strike from Takeshita! Perry spiked
Takeshita with a poisonrana! Andrade tripped Perry at the
ropes, so Allin dove through the ropes onto Andrade! Allin
went after Callis, so Davis grabbed him from behind and ran
Allin into the guardrail! Davis and Takeshita swung Allin by
the arms and legs and chucked him over the timekeeper’s
table and onto a pair of chairs! Bandido tried to dive onto
Davis and Takeshita, but was caught and powerbombed onto the
corner of the ring!
Perry tried to fight off Davis and Takeshita, and created
some separation when he ducked a Takeshita elbow that wound
up connecting with Davis. Perry hit Takeshita with a
superkick to send him to the floor, but was immediately
nailed by Davis. With Perry slumped over the ropes, Davis
got a blind tag from Andrade and floored Perry with a
lariat! Davis deadlifted Perry into a crushing piledriver,
and Andrade came in for The DM and pinned Perry for the
victory! Davis and Takeshita stomped Perry after the match
as Allin clawed his way into the ring and into Andrade’s
face! Allin shoved Andrade, so Andrade pointed at the
Dynasty sign and kicked Allin low! Davis, Callis and
Takeshita continued to beat on Perry until the Young Bucks
hit the ring!
They unloaded on Davis and Takeshita, so Lance Archer came
in and ate a pair of superkicks. Hechicero and El Clon
suffered the same fate! Matt and Nick Jackson kicked Davis
down to his knees and nailed him with a BTE Trigger! The
Bucks set up Takeshita for a flipping piledriver, but Okada
of all people ran down and pulled Nick off the apron to save
Takeshita! The distraction allowed Takeshita to blast Matt
with an elbow.
Okada took off his jacket and came into the ring to stomp
Nick while Takeshita stomped Matt. Okada and Takeshita
bumped chests, so Okada pushed Takeshita, and Takeshita
pushed him right back! Okada came back with a right hand,
and Takeshita answered, and these two were going at it! They
fought near the ropes until Hechicero, El Clon and Archer
broke it up. Back in the ring, Zachary Wentz and Dezmond
Xavier showed up and, along with Bandido, launched
themselves over the top to take out the Callis Family on the
floor! Okada was the only one who didn’t get taken out and
celebrated over Takeshita! Myron Reed stopped that with a
dive over the top onto Okada! He’ll face Okada for the AEW
International Championship this Saturday on Collision! The
Callis Family tried to regroup as they went up the ramp.
An Official Medical Update on Kenny Omega
Lexy Nair was with Dr. Sampson to clarify Kenny Omega’s
condition after the claims made by AEW World Champion MJF
last week. Sampson believed MJF was just trying to get in
Omega’s head and said he spoke with Kenny afterward, and
Omega assured him everything was OK with his medical
condition. Sampson said while Omega did have post-surgery
complications from his diverticulitis, Omega is in the best
shape of his career right now and was cleared by both his
surgeon and Sampson. Sampson reiterated that MJF was just
trying to get in Omega’s head, and he wasn’t happy about it.
He excused himself to get back to work in the medical room.
TBS Championship Match: Willow Nightingale (c) def. Queen
Aminata
The returning Queen Aminata made her way to the ring first
for her first match in five months, looking more than ready
for this championship shot. Nightingale came into this match
with six successful TBS Title defenses in her 98-day reign.
Nightingale offered a handshake after the bell, but Aminata
kicked her in the gut and hit a pendulum neckbreaker that
nearly kept Nightingale down for three! Nightingale
regrouped on the floor, but when she tried to get back in
the ring, Aminata booted her back to the floor. Aminata
followed up, and the two exchanged blows as Hikaru Shida was
seen watching from the crowd. Aminata sent Nightingale into
the guardrail and tried to charge with a boot, so
Nightingale moved and then threw Aminata hard into the
guardrail. Aminata’s bandaged neck was clearly bothering her
as Nightingale returned her to the ring. Nightingale hit a
series of lariats in the corner to get a near-fall. Aminata
came back to hit a running kick to a seated Nightingale for
a two-count. Aminata trapped Nightingale’s head between her
legs and delivered Chocolate Kisses!
Aminata remained in control and grounded Nightingale in the
ring for several minutes until Nightingale reversed a whip
into a bow-and-arrow backbreaker! Nightingale connected on a
running charge in the corner, followed by a lariat. She flew
out of the corner with a dropkick and nailed Aminata with a
Death Valley Driver for a two-count! Nightingale ran for a
cannonball in the corner, so Aminata rolled to the floor!
Nightingale adjusted her strategy and went to the apron. As
Aminata turned around, Nightingale ran down the apron with a
cannonball that connected on the second try! She threw
Aminata back in the ring and went to the top for a
moonsault, but missed! Aminata hit a devastating running
elbow strike to a kneeling Nightingale, but the TBS Champion
kicked out! Aminata’s face had frustration written all over
it. Aminata connected with a stiff kick and went to the top
for a diving foot stop that connected on Nightingale!
Nightingale kicked out again! Aminata had her head in her
hand in disbelief.
The two got to their feet and traded shots with Nightingale
begging Aminata to show her she wants to be champ. That only
fired up Aminata more, so she laid in some more overhand
chops. Aminata went to rebound off the ropes, so Nightingale
prepared for a Pounce, but Aminata was ready for it with a
headbutt! Nightingale fell back into the second rope and
bounced back with a huge lariat! Both women were down!
They each reached a separate corner, and Aminata stopped a
charging Nightingale with a kick. Nightingale snatched
Aminata in a backslide, but Aminata slipped out at two.
Nightingale chopped Aminata and went for a Babe with the
Powerbomb, but Aminata blocked it and nailed an Air Raid
Crash! Nightingale kicked out yet again! Nightingale was
struggling to pick herself up, so Aminata went to the ropes
only to turn into a big boot from Nightingale! Nightingale
connected with a Pounce that sent Aminata across the ring
and neck-first into the bottom rope! Nightingale picked up
Aminata and hit her with a Babe with the Powerbomb to get a
three-count and a successful TBS Title defense! As Shida
continued to watch from the crowd, Nightingale picked up
Aminata to give her props on a great challenge.
A Special Look at the Historical Impact of AEW World
Champion MJF
We took a very special look at the impact MJF has had on the
world of professional wrestling, from being in the first
match at All In to being on the Day 1 AEW roster to winning
the AEW World Title for the first time, all the way to his
current reign, which brings him to Kenny Omega on Sunday at
Dynasty!
Chris Jericho Picks Ricochet as His Dynasty Opponent
Much like last week in his hometown of Winnipeg, Jericho
made his way to the ring with the Edmonton crowd serenading
him with “Judas” as he soaked it all up! Jericho thanked
Edmonton and said it was great to be back on Dynamite. He
said he meant it last week when he said he was home in AEW,
and he wanted to make it official by signing his new
contract 100 kilometers from where he had his first match in
Ponoka, Alberta, at the Ponoka Moose Hall!
Jericho acknowledged what might be the first Panoka chant in
the history of anything. He said he took a lot of risks in
his career, including helping start AEW back in 2019, but
he’s proud of what the company has become. Jericho said he’s
taken a lot of risks that have paid off with great stories
and great matches, but he’s also had some stinkers. He said
it was part of being a risk-taker and that it was why he
loves pro wrestling. He got in the best shape to come back
because he respects pro wrestling, and this business
deserves the best Chris Jericho he can be.
Now that he’s back in AEW, it doesn’t matter where he is on
the card because he will continue to build AEW. After all,
he loves pro wrestling, and he loves this company! The crowd
chanted “JERICHO” as he picked up the pen to sign his
contract. He said it was the perfect time to sign the
contract! The Demand’s music interrupted Jericho, as
Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona appeared on the ramp and
made their way to the ring.
Ricochet grabbed a mic and tried to speak, but had trouble
talking over the booing crowd and said as someone from Las
Vegas, Canada sucks. Ricochet said he was just here to talk,
and if he wanted to take out Jericho, Kaun would have done
it already. Ricochet told Jericho to do himself a favor:
don't sign the contract and don’t come back. Ricochet said
Jericho must be rusty after a year away and touring the
globe with his “little band singing karaoke all over the
place.” Ricochet wondered if Jericho got his abs back from
all the signing.
Ricochet said there’s a difference between sing shape and
ring shape. Jericho is, without a doubt, one of the greatest
AEW champions, and AEW may not have had the rise it did
without Jericho. But in case Jericho didn’t know, Ricochet
is the man now. He’s making everything rise in AEW. That
brought more “JERICHO” chants from the crowd. Ricochet said
he respects Jericho, but no one wants him here! Ricochet
told Jericho to pack it all up, get out of his ring, get on
his little cruise ship and leave AEW before he actually gets
himself hurt. Liona and Kaun stepped closer behind Ricochet
as they faced off with Jericho.
Jericho took in the crowd's chants and agreed that Ricochet
really is bald! Jericho signed his AEW contract and said he
has a special clause that allows him to choose his own
opponent at Dynasty. After going through many options,
including his cousin Marky in the crowd, Jericho turned his
attention back to Ricochet. He asked if Ricochet knew what
happened when Chris Jericho needed an opponent for Dynasty
and didn’t have one.
“YOU JUST MADE THE LIST! See you at Dynasty, Ricochet!”
Chris Jericho vs. Ricochet happens this Sunday at Dynasty in
Vancouver!
Don Callis Will Allow Takeshita and Okada to Fight After
They Team at Dynasty!
Lexy Nair was with the Don Callis Family to find out about
the big match he promised for Dynasty. But first, Callis
explained how Andrade would beat Darby Allin at Dynasty.
Callis said it will be the Young Bucks vs. Okada and
Takeshita! Takeshita got in Callis’ face and said no, but
Callis said there is only one coach of this team. Kyle
Fletcher is lying in a hospital bed on death’s door
(editor’s note: Fletcher is injured, but in no way near
death), so they have to come together for Kyle because it’s
about Kyle. Callis said Takeshita and Okada need to work
together to beat the Bucks.
Takeshita agreed, but said he wants to challenge Okada for
the AEW International Title because that’s HIS belt. Callis
said he needs this match to happen and for them to work
together to beat the Bucks, and then Takeshita and Okada can
wrestle to get this out of their system. No one is leaving
the family, and Takeshita and Okada will work together like
Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to beat the Bucks. Callis
ordered them to shake hands, and they did, but Okada pulled
Takeshita in and said, “You’re Scottie Pippen, I’m Michael
Jordan.” Takeshita reared back to hit Okada, but other
Family members stepped in to separate them as Callis yelled
about needing to think about Kyle Fletcher!
Winner Gets #1 Spot in TNT Title Casino Gauntlet Match at
Dynasty: “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa def. Máscara Dorada
Ciampa controlled Dorada’s arm and tried to keep Dorada on
the mat, but Dorada kept escaping and bouncing back to his
feet. Dorada tried to lock in a LeBell Lock, so Ciampa
bailed to the floor and took a long look at the vacant TNT
Title displayed on the commentary desk. Back in the ring,
Dorada turned two rebounds from the top ropes into a
spectacular armdrag that sent Ciampa to the outside. Dorada
tried to follow, so Ciampa moved, and Dorada landed on his
feet. When Dorada tried to get back on the apron, Ciampa met
him with a running bicycle knee! Ciampa threw Dorada back in
and tried another knee, so Dorada moved and the two traded
chops. Dorada hit a back elbow from the corner and a
headscissors to take Ciampa to the floor. Dorada came over
the top with a tornillo, and Ciampa might be in trouble!
However, Dorada’s advantage didn’t last long, as he was sent
into the ring post by Ciampa, who continued the attack
around the ringside area.
Dorada turned a slingshot into a chance to jump to the top
and turn things around with some unique offense. Dorada
connected on a 450 splash from the top to get a nearfall!
Dorada hit a leg lariat and then tried to handspring from
the ropes, but Ciampa met him with a low dropkick followed
by Project Ciampa! Dorada kicked out at two! Ciampa put
Dorada on the top turnbuckle and chopped him. Dorada escaped
a super Psycho Driller and captured Ciampa’s head in the
turnbuckle. That allowed Dorada to hit a kick to Ciampa and
a flipping neckbreaker to Ciampa from Dorada’s shoulders!
Ciampa kicked out just in time!
Dorada went back to the top and tried a moonsault, only to
land right on Ciampa’s boots! Ciampa charged for a bicycle
knee, but Dorada countered with a kick to the head. Ciampa
rolled through to capture Dorada in the ropes. He draped him
for Willow’s Bell and finished Dorada with a bicycle knee to
get the pinfall victory. Ciampa will enter the TNT Title
Casino Gauntlet Match in the #1 Spot!
The Dogs Want the AEW World Trios Titles!
David Finlay was in the back with some commotion happening
behind him as he recapped the 8-Man Tag Main Event from last
week’s Collision. And while The Dogs didn’t win, they didn’t
get beaten either because they set out to collect four
bodies, and they have two right here! He pulled the camera
over to show Clark Connors beating an already wounded Orange
Cassidy and Roderick Strong!
Connors put on Cassidy’s glasses and said that Místico and
Kevin Knight were lucky there were only two of them last
week, but don’t worry, because the whole gang is back
together now. Gabe Kidd appeared and said The Conglomeration
has no one left, so he’s not worried about them. He directed
his attention back to the AEW World Trios Champions, Knight,
Místico and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Finlay said this
Saturday at Collision, they are coming for their bodies and
coming for their gold!
AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla Sends a Threat to Jamie
Hayter
Lexy Nair tried to get a word from Thekla about her AEW
Women’s World Championship defense against former AEW
Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter this Sunday at Dynasty,
but Thekla cut her off because she didn’t want to hear about
Hayter being a former champion one more time. Then she
threatened Nair with some wining and dining that would end
in breaking Nair’s fingers! She turned her attention back to
Hayter and said that she wasn’t here when Hayter was
champion. But Hayter was the first person Thekla took out,
and yet Hayter keeps coming back because she’s the “dumbest
bitch alive.” Thekla said she’s done playing games and
messing around. At Dynasty, Hayter will be “the dumbest
bitch dead!”
AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and RPG Vice Take Out Cope
and Cage!
Cope and Cage made their way to the ring to speak about
their AEW World Tag Team Championship match with FTR this
Sunday at Dynasty. Cope said that jealousy and pettiness
blew up Rated FTR. They didn’t want to be henchmen for Cope,
but he said that was the cold, hard reality slapping them in
the face. He wouldn’t come down to them, and they wouldn’t
grow up to him. Cope said at Dynasty, the C&C Dynasty takes
their rightful place back on top of the mountain as your AEW
World Tag Team Champions!
Cage said FTR, wherever you are, sit down and shut your
mouths while he handles his business. Cage said FTR managed
to piss off not only Cage and Cope but also the entire
country of Canada. And as everybody’s favorite father
figure, Cage said they’ve been very, very naughty. So
naughty, Cage had to pay a visit to both of their mothers.
And just so there’s no confusion, by visiting, Cage somewhat
graphically explained that it was just a figure of speech.
He didn’t want to leave Stokely’s mother out, but he’ll wait
until they are AEW World Tag Team Champions before he visits
her!
FTR’s music hit, but Cope and Cage couldn’t find them. Trent
Beretta and Rocky Romero hit the ring to attack Cope and
Cage in an apparent act of revenge for Cope and Cage
attacking them last week. Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood and
Stokely hit the ring to make it a 5-on-2 advantage, and the
beatdown was on! Romero beat Cage with a chair on the
outside to save Beretta, while Cage escaped FTR long enough
to get sent into a belt shot by Stokely!
Back on the outside, Romero held the chair in front of
Cope’s face so Beretta could nail it with a running knee
strike to bounce the chair off Cope’s head! In the ring, FTR
held Christian so Stokely could hit a spear! FTR put Cage’s
left arm in a chair, and Wheeler went to the second rope.
Before he could come off, Stokely stole Christian’s watch.
Then, Wheeler came off the ropes to stomp the chair on
Cage’s arm! Cage and Cope were left lying by the AEW World
Tag Team Champions and RPG Vice!
Darby Allin Needs the AEW World Title
Allin was backstage and said people wondered why he wanted
to be the AEW World Champion when he doesn’t care about
anything in life. He said it’s the exact opposite. He cares
too much. He’s scared he can’t win the big one. He’s scared
he can’t be the face of this company because you have to be
a World Champion. He doesn’t think Andrade knows what he got
himself into. Whoever walks out Sunday with the AEW World
Championship, whether it be MJF or Kenny Omega, Allin needs
this win more than anything. In a world that tells you
you’re not enough, Allin says he is enough. He went through
the glass, the fire, the blood, so if he can’t be AEW World
Champion, what was it all for?
“I need this. I need this more than anyone can ever
imagine.”
Chaos in Canada (ANYTHING GOES): Will Ospreay & United
Empire (IWGP World Champion Callum Newman, Francisco Akira,
HENARE) def. Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon
Moxley, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli and Daniel Garcia)
As the Death Riders made their entrance, the United Empire
met them in the crowd, and this match was underway!
Castagnoli fought HENARE and Akira on the ramp with some
success, as he press-slammed Akira into a gutbuster over his
knee! Alex Windsor ran out to brawl with Marina Shafir ahead
of their singles match at Dynasty Zero Hour! HENARE and
Akira came down the ramp with a ladder to take out anyone in
their way and put the ladder in the ring. Akira climbed to
the top of the ladder in the ring and leaped off to take out
all the Death Riders on the floor!
United Empire remained in control, as Ospreay and Newman
took out Moxley and Castagnoli on the floor with stereo
pescados! Ospreay and Newman set up a table and placed the
steel steps next to it so they could try to suplex Moxley
through it. Castagnoli made the save and tossed Akira aside,
so Ospreay dove onto Castagnoli, who caught him and turned
Ospreay inside out with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker!
PAC, Garcia and Castagnoli triple-teamed Akira with rapid-
fire charges and strikes in the corner. Newman came in to
help Akira, but suffered the same fate, as Moxley choked
HENARE on the outside. With Ospreay on the apron, Moxley bit
his ear as Garcia stood on his back. All four Death Riders
went into the conveyor belt attacks on HENARE in the corner
until he charged out and took them down! HENARE tried to
suplex Garcia from the stairs to the table, but Castagnoli
came over to make the save. HENARE dove onto Castagnoli, who
caught him and carried HENARE around to the opposite side of
the ring for a stalling vertical suplex through another
table! That was freakish strength by Castagnoli!
With the Death Riders in control, Moxley used shards of a
kendo stick to cut Ospreay’s back before stuffing Ospreay
with a piledriver! All eight men fought in the ring until
Ospreay escaped a Death Rider from Moxley with a big kick,
only to be caught in the DragonTamer by Garcia. That allowed
Moxley to stomp Ospreay’s head into the mat! Garcia tried a
cover, but Akira broke up the pin! Akira and Moxley squared
off, and despite the size disadvantage, Akira wouldn’t back
down until Moxley eventually took him down. Newman came in
to step up to Moxley and had success until Garcia came in,
but an Ospreay superkick picked him off! Ospreay and Newman
hit stereo OsCutters to Moxley and Garcia! Both kicked out!
HENARE saved Akira from Castagnoli on the steel steps, then
threw Castagnoli through the table from the stairs with a
carry-and-spear! On a different side of the ring, Akira
powerbombed Garcia on a table! On the opposite side of the
ring, Newman stomped PAC through a table from the top rope!
Akira ran down the apron to splash Garcia on the table! That
left Ospreay and Moxley in the ring to exchange strikes
until Ospreay tried a springboard, but landed right in
Moxley’s arms for a Paradigm Shift! Mox picked up Ospreay
again for two more Paradigm Shifts, which looked like a
callback to when Moxley took Ospreay out last year! However,
Newman came in to stop Moxley with a massive lariat! Ospreay
put Moxley through a table in the corner with a Hidden
Blade! Ospreay covered Moxley and pinned him for the
victory!
After the match, Ospreay picked up Moxley for a Tiger
Driver, so Castagnoli dove into the ring to pull Moxley to
safety!
A Special Look at the Impact of Kenny Omega
Before he challenges MJF for the AEW World Champion at
Dynasty, we took a detailed look at Kenny Omega’s career,
including his dominance in NJPW as part of the Bullet Club
and eventually the IWGP World Champion. Omega was part of
AEW's original formation and went on to become the most
prolific AEW World Champion until MJF broke his record for
the longest reign. Following a dark period and a battle with
diverticulitis, Omega returned and is in the best shape of
his career, with his sights set on winning back the AEW
World Title!
Kenny Omega Leaves MJF Lying Before Dynasty!
Tony Schiavone introduced Omega, who was dressed a bit more
business-like than normal in a full suit. He detailed his
wrestling history in Edmonton and how much it means to him,
so he believes he can talk to these fans as friends. He
admitted he nearly made a big mistake last week when MJF got
in his head, and if it wasn’t for “Speedball” Mike Bailey
stepping in, Omega may have lost his AEW World Title shot.
Omega said all of his names and titles aren’t just words.
They mean something to him because that’s what the people
gave him.
He said MJF is known for his mouth, but Omega doesn’t mind
because, he said, "Anything you can do, I can do better." He
can recreate wrestling in his image because that’s what “The
God of Professional Wrestling” does! Maybe MJF was the one
who should have been bothered last week because he can’t do
what Omega has done all over the world. So why did Omega
lose his cool last week? It’s because he believed it was all
on him to be the AEW World Champion, so AEW could be where
the best wrestle the best! Omega said it wasn’t just his
responsibility or his legacy, it was our legacy as he
gestured out to the fans! Omega said he will take the AEW
World Championship from MJF on Sunday and start to right the
wrongs that MJF committed in this company. Omega said Sunday
will be MJF’s last defense. That’s a promise.
MJF made his way out and joined Omega in the ring. MJF
wondered why Omega thought he was good enough to beat MJF in
2026. MJF said everyone should be scared because it might be
Omega’s last shot at the AEW World Title. He said actually,
it’s not might, it WILL be Omega’s final shot at the AEW
World Title. MJF addressed just how healthy Omega is or
isn’t, but if Omega is truly at his best, he’s still not on
the level of the Devil. And on April 12, in front of the
world, their god will fall, and their devil will rise, sat
atop the throne where only he belongs.
“And do you know why, bud? Because my name is Maxwell Jacob
Friendman and I’m better than you and you know it!”
Omega said he learns a little more about MJF with each
conversation, and he’s learned the AEW World Title means a
lot to MJF. And it means a lot to protect it. So Omega
thought maybe MJF would shake Omega’s hand as the last time
they could respectfully meet as men before Sunday. Omega
wanted to let bygones be bygones before a legendary main
event and shake hands. MJF walked away from the handshake
and then tried to nail Omega, but Omega ducked and laid MJF
out with a knee to the face! Omega took the Dynamite Diamond
Ring off MJF and said on Sunday that this would end with
Omega bidding the crowd adieu with a goodbye and goodnight.
BANG! Omega dropped the ring on MJF’s chest and waved to the
crowd as Dynamite came to a close!
