Chris Jericho made his return to AEW last night on Dynamite,
a year after his last appearance for the company.
Jericho, decked in a shiny purple jacket, came out and
interrupted Tony Schiavone’s introduction of the AEW World
title contract signing between MJF and Kenny Omega.
The hometown crowd sang along to the Judas theme song and
Jericho made his way to the ring. He then stopped to take in
all the cheers from Winnipeg.
Jericho had a mic in his hand but his words were short and
sweet.
“Winnipeg, I’m home,” Jericho said, before going back.
His return was highly speculated during the day as it was
revealed that he had negotiated a way back to the company.
He was rumored to be going to WWE in the beginning of the
year but news came out that his contract was extended to
cover his time away from AEW.
Jericho filed a trademark for the term The Cornerstone last
week, suggesting that it was his return gimmick.
