CMLL announced that current CMLL World Heavyweight champion
Claudio Castagnoli has signed a contract with the promotion,
with the Swiss Superman now under a dual contract with AEW
as well.
While AEW has announced multiple CMLL stars as under dual
AEW/CMLL contracts, Castagnoli is the first from AEW to be
under a similar dual deal.
The Death Riders member has been CMLL World Heavyweight
champion since November 28, 2025, beating Gran Guerrero at
the Leyenda Azul event in Mexico City. It’s his first run
with any CMLL title.
CMLL’s Mistico, Mascara Dorada, Hechicero, and Persephone
also have dual contracts.
