AEW Dynamite was LIVE from Fresno, California, on TBS and
HBO Max! The fallout from AEW Revolution was on full display
throughout the night after one of the wildest nights in AEW
PPV history.
About 10 minutes before Dynamite began, we learned that
“Timeless” Toni Storm had been viciously attacked in the
locker room, with Mina Shirakawa vowing revenge on whoever
did this. However, she believed it was Marina Shafir, who
was evasive about her role. With Storm ruled out, Shirakawa
took her place in the NO HOLDS BARRED match with Shafir and
pulled off the shocking win.
Meanwhile, the first match on tonight’s Dynamite was Will
Ospreay’s first in over six months, as he defeated Blake
Christian to complete a successful return. Ospreay then
called out AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and attacked
Mox and the Death Riders before they could get to him! The
chaos spilled into the next match, which saw Moxley and
Wheeler Yuta beat Bang Bang Gang.
In the main event, new AEW National Champion “Jungle” Jack
Perry and the Young Bucks teamed to defeat the Don Callis
Family’s RPG Vice and AEW International Champion Kazuchika
Okada. After the match, the Bucks spoke about losing at
Revolution but were interrupted by Adam Copeland and
Christian Cage, who will have the next shot at FTR and the
AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Dynasty on April 12!
Plus, Darby Allin and Gabe Kidd had a Coffin Match that
began in the parking lot with a spectacular crash and ended
with Allin battering Kidd into the coffin for the win! And
Swerve Strickland will meet Kenny Omega once again next week
with massive stipulations!
All that and much more went down on Dynamite in Fresno! Here
are your complete results!
Will Ospreay def. Blake Christian of Lethal Twist
What a perfect way to kick off Dynamite! Will Ospreay was
back in action after more than six months away, thanks to
the Jon Moxley and the Death Riders' attack on his neck.
Ospreay was coming off double neck fusion surgery, which
Bryan Danielson noted was worse than the surgery he had that
kept him out three months longer!
Ospreay decided to chain-wrestle with Christian at the
beginning, then sent him to the floor with a hurricanrana.
Ospreay tried a plancha, so Christian moved, and Ospreay
landed on the apron. Christian immediately pulled him down
and took him to the floor with a cazadora/splash combo!
Christian returned Ospreay to the ring, where Christian
tried another splash, but Ospreay was ready with boots to
the face, followed by another boot that sent Christian to
the outside. This time, Ospreay connected with a plancha,
and Fresno loved it! Ospreay took his time after throwing
Christian back in, so Christian came flying back out with a
twisting dive! He threw Ospreay into the front row and tried
to stomp him on the barricade, but Ospreay moved and came
off the barricade with an elbow! Back in the ring, Ospreay
connected with a springboard elbow to get a two-count!
Christian escaped a charge in the corner with a neckbreaker
on his knee, followed by a DDT! Christian stomped on
Ospreay’s surgically repaired neck! Christian wrenched at
Ospreay’s neck until Ospreay escaped and got to his feet. He
sprang off Christian’s chest and came back with a kick to
the back of the head. Ospreay bounced off the ropes and
nailed a handspring corkscrew kick. He came up with a big
smile and seemed to be right back at home!
Ospreay missed a twisting moonsault, so Christian ran up
Ospreay’s back and stomped him! Christian dove through the
ropes and put Ospreay down with a DDT on the floor! He
followed with a 450 Splash, but Ospreay kicked out at two!
Christian kept the offense up with a cutter, but Ospreay
kicked out again. The two traded reversals until Christian
nailed a knee to the face, followed by a sliced bread for
another near-fall!
“OSPREAY!” chants were ringing throughout Fresno!
Christian dropped his elbow pad and tried for his own Hidden
Blade, but Ospreay cut him off with a nasty lariat! Ospreay
hit his Hidden Blade to get the pinfall and a successful
return!
Ospreay spoke after the match and expressed how much he
missed the fans. They responded with a “Welcome back!”
chant. Ospreay called out Jon Moxley and said the biggest
difference between him and Moxley was that he doesn’t need a
weapon to snatch someone’s neck because he can do it with
his bare f***ing hands!
The guitar riff of Moxley’s music interrupted Ospreay, as
Moxley came to the ring with Wheeler Yuta. Ospreay didn’t
wait for Moxley and jumped into the crowd to attack him! He
went right after both Moxley and Yuta, before getting Moxley
into the ring. He started to set up Moxley for a Tiger
Driver, but PAC came out of nowhere to lay a big boot across
Ospreay’s face! PAC was locked in the Brutalizer until
security and officials had to pull him off Ospreay! Ospreay
was escorted out of the ring, as the introductions for our
next match continued with the Bang Bang Gang. But Ospreay
came sprinting up the ramp to launch himself onto PAC! They
continued the fight to the back, so Bang Bang Gang restarted
their walk to the ring!
Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and
Wheeler Yuta) def. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson and Ace
Austin)
Yuta attacked Robinson at the bell, while Moxley threw
Austin into the barricade on the floor. Austin reversed
Moxley into the barricade! Back in the ring, Robinson worked
over Yuta in the corner and mounted him for punches before
letting Austing get in some of his own. They hit a double
hip toss and a combo to get a two-count. Yuta gouged
Robinson’s eyes so Moxley could tag in, and he went right to
work on Robinson with punches and fingers to the right eye!
Robinson fought through big chops with some of his own, so
Moxley went to a suplex, but Robinson reversed it into one
of his own. He tagged Austin, who lit Moxley up with
strikes, followed by a leg trip and enzuigiri. He knocked
Moxley to the outside and squatted Yuta into a Death Valley
Driver. Moxley came back in, but Austin was ready for him
and sent him back to the floor. Austin hit a twisting body
press to Moxley on the outside! But Yuta was right there to
throw Austin into the steel steps!
It was all Death Riders for the next few minutes, as Austin
couldn’t get to Robinson for a tag. Moxley worked Austin
over with a Texas Cloverleaf, followed by a crossface with
Austin’s chain in his mouth. Austin got to the ropes to
break the hold and delivered a roundhouse kick that stunned
Moxley and rattled him to the mat. Moxley still made it to
the corner to tag Yuta, but Austin broke loose from Yuta to
tag Robinson! He unloaded on Yuta with a Manhattan drop,
followed by a host of chops and a running clothesline!
As the crowd chanted “JUICE,” Robinson lit up Yuta with jabs
until Daniel Garcia got on the apron. Austin Gunn pulled him
down. In the ring, Moxley got hit with the Left Hand of God
from Robinson, and then Yuta got the same! Robinson put Yuta
into the mat with a stack powerbomb, but Yuta kicked out.
Austin tagged in and tried a twirling splash from the top,
but caught all of Yuta’s knees! Moxley came in and tried to
grab Austin’s hair, but he kneed Mox and avoided a charge in
the corner to hit an enzuigiri! Austin came charging out of
the corner right into a Busaiku knee from Yuta! Moxley
nailed a cutter on Robinson and threw him to the floor,
where Yuta followed with a dive! Moxley stuck Austin with a
Death Rider to get the three-count and victory for the Death
Riders.
“War Ready” Gabe Kidd Wants to Start in the Parking Lot!
Before this Coffin Match, we took an extensive look at the
violent history between Darby Allin and Gabe Kidd, dating
back to last summer. Kidd spoke and said he’s not waiting to
get in the ring. “Meet me in the parking lot, you rat!”
Kenny Omega Spoke About Swerve Strickland After Revolution
We heard comments from after Revolution where Omega said
Swerve isn’t a danger to himself, so that he won’t take the
risk. But Omega wants to play some Risk, so why doesn’t
Swerve put up his newly won #1 contendership for the AEW
World Title in another match against Omega?
Coffin Match: Darby Allin def. “War Ready” Gabe Kidd
We saw Kidd in the parking lot, as Allin came flying at him
in a speeding car! Kidd got out of the way, so Allin jumped
out of the car and attacked! Kidd got the upper hand and
powerbombed Allin on the car! Allin came back by gouging
Kidd’s eyes and then poured some kind of chemical on a rag,
which he put over Kidd’s mouth! Allin threw Kidd in the
truck and got back in the car. He sped up and drove the car
up a pile of rubble, flipping it completely over in a
spectacular crash! Allin piled out of the car, and Kidd fell
out of the trunk! Allin produced a road case and put Kiddin
in it as a transport to the ring! Once they made it to the
ringside, the bell rang, and this coffin match was
officially underway!
Allin sat Kidd in a chair and put him in a straitjacket!
Kidd was completely out of it from whatever was on the rag
Allin smothered on his face before the crash. Allin grabbed
his skateboard, as Kidd started to come to, so when Allin
tried to smash Kidd in the head, Kidd kicked him low! Kidd
sent Allin head-first into the steel steps! Kidd took some
time to gather himself and remained in the straitjacket, as
he bit the fresh, massive wound on Allin’s head. Kidd was
clearly enjoying himself.
“I love this. These are good memories.”
Allin stopped Kidd from putting him in the coffin, only to
have his fingers smashed by the lid! Kidd continued to
control Allin while still wearing the straitjacket, but it
didn’t seem to be limiting him at all. The two wound up on
the top rope, where Allin bit Kidd’s head and nailed an
avalanche Code Red for a two-count! Allin locked Kidd’s arms
together in the straitjacket and put Kidd down with a
Scorpion Death Drop! Allin went to the top, so Kidd kicked
the referee into the ropes to crotch Allin! Kidd pulled
Allin off the top with a running powerslam despite being
locked in the straitjacket! Kidd hit a battering ram to send
Allin to the floor! Kidd got Allin’s leg in the coffin, but
Allin bit Kidd’s nose to break free!
Allin got back in the ring with a wild look in his eyes, and
he cracked Kidd repeatedly with his skateboard. Allin hit a
pair of Coffin Drops and dragged Kidd to the apron. Kidd got
a shot on Allin, but Allin pulled him to the floor in front
of the coffin. Allin got back in the ring and flew the ropes
like a battering ram into Kidd, who fell in the coffin,
which shut on top of him! Allin wins!
Allin had the mic and something to say! “I’m gonna hold that
throttle until I see God or the AEW World Championship.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I’m comin'!”
The Jurassic Express Hits the Road
We got to see Perry’s journey from home in the Jurassic
Express with Luchasaurus at the helm, as they made the drive
from Los Angeles to tonight’s show in Fresno! The Jurassic
Express showed up in the parking lot, and Perry was greeted
by the two men he’ll be teaming with tonight, the Young
Bucks!
Matt and Nick Jackson said they have to dust themselves off
after what happened at Revolution for their families, and
that starts tonight against Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta and
the AEW International Champion, Kazuchika Okada! Luchasaurus
called Okada a “bitch” from the Jurassic Express.
Swerve Strickland Wants Kenny Omega’s Power
Prince Nana stood in the ring and asked if everyone saw the
annihilation and “The Most Dangerous Man in AEW” at
Revolution? He introduced Mr. Dangerous, Swerve Strickland!
Strickland sat in a chair with a lone spotlight on him in
the middle of the ring and spoke in a low tone:
“Power.
“This past Sunday at Revolution, Brody King and I went to
war. But the only true winners of war are the ones with
power.
“Now, if you ask me, did I enjoy beating the hell out of
that man in his home state of California? Of course. But was
I satisfied? No, because the power lies elsewhere.
“Sometimes, power is more important than championships. Now
I’ve dealt with organizations with power all my life, all
the way back to when I was 17 years old in the military, to
traveling the world on the independents, even when I was
stuck in developmental. Truth be told, if it weren’t for the
Young Bucks interfering in my match at Dynasty last year,
I’d be a two-time AEW World Champion by now. Which,
honestly, brings me to Kenny Omega.
“It was very fascinating what you said about me earlier.
Unbeknownst to me, I’m the new #1 contender for the AEW
World Championship, but what does that #1 contendership mean
if I don’t have the power to protect it? Kenny, you wanna
offer everything up on the table, but you don’t have the
leverage in this. It makes no sense for me to beat you twice
and get nothing for it, man. However, there is one thing you
have that does interest me. And that is your power.
“Kenny, I don’t want you removed from your power. I want
your power. And I wanna block out anyone else who thinks
they can get it. So you want this rematch between you and
me? Offer up your EVP status. And just to make things very
clear, when I beat you. I, Swerve Strickland, – whose house?
– will become AEW’s new executive vice president!”
AEW World Trios Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey def. Mark
Davis of the Don Callis Family
Before the match, Renee Paquette spoke with Bailey about his
great night at Revolution. Bailey said some people you can
look at and see a star, like his partner, Kevin Knight. But
not Bailey, who had to fight all over the world to get to
where he is today. And that’s why he admires Kenny Omega,
who had to have the same determination to get to the top.
At the bell, Davis charged at Bailey, who avoided him until
Bailey was able to hit a pair of kicks to get Davis in the
corner. The kicks continued, and Davis was doubled over in
pain. Davis charged out of the corner, so Bailey sent him to
the apron and hit a big boot. Davis came back in and floored
Bailey with a shoulder tackle and then a body slam/senton
splash combo for a two-count on a cocky cover. Davis picked
Bailey up just to chop him back down to the mat. Bailey
kneed his way out of a suplex and caught a charging Davis
with a boot, followed by a dropkick. Bailey dropped Davis
with a three-kick combo and a running shooting star splash!
Davis kicked out at one!
Bailey hit a running boot to Davis on the ropes, and then
another, but Davis caught the third, so Bailey swept Davis’
legs! Bailey connected on a triangle moonsault to the floor,
and he was in control! However, Davis came back and chopped
Bailey off the top rope, followed by another on the apron.
Davis dropped Bailey at a dangerous angle on a release
vertical suplex on the corner of the ring! That was
devastating!
Bailey escaped a powerbomb to the apron, but Davis put him
right back down. They battled around the turnbuckles, where
Bailey hit Davis with three big kicks and pulled him off the
second rope with a powerbomb. Speedball connected on a
shooting star press, but Davis kicked out just in time!
Breaking news: Swerve Strickland vs. Kenny Omega is set for
next week on Dynamite! #1 Contendership vs. Omega’s EVP
Title!
Back in the ring, Davis cut off Bailey’s kick attempt, and
the two began open-hand slapping each other until Bailey
stopped Davis’s lariat attempt with a beautiful spin kick!
After both got to their feet, Bailey hit repeated chops on
Davis, but Davis dropped Bailey with one punch to the jaw.
Davis hit a chop/lariat combo and a BT bomb for a two-count!
Davis connected on a lunging elbow strike and tried another
powerbomb, but Bailey got free and nailed a heel kick to
Davis! Davis came back with an enzuigiri and a rebounded
lariat! He picked up Bailey and dropped him with Close Your
Eyes and Count to Nothing! Bailey somehow kicked out! Davis
kicked Bailey in the face! He picked Bailey up, but Bailey
rolled it into a near-fall. He followed with the standing
moonsault knee drop on Davis’ chest! Bailey connected with a
double spin kick across the ring and went to the top for an
Ultima Weapon, which he nailed for the victory!
AEW World Champion MJF Speaks After Revolution
MJF said he now has the greatest dog collar match of all
time, the greatest Iron Man match of all time and the
greatest Texas Death match of all time. And now, he’s the
greatest AEW World Champion of all time.
They call him Mr. Revolution.
He said the adrenaline has worn off, and he feels
everything. But none of it matters, because he won. Because
he is still the holder of the Triple B, the AEW World Title.
He wished himself a happy 30th birthday and crossed a big
name off his list by beating Hangman. MJF still has 20 more
years to go, and Hangman has 20 years in the midcard. For
the next 20 years, MJF will have a one-way ticket to GOAT
status. For the next 20 years, only one name will be
regarded as the best in the world. M-J-F.
Max asked the cameraman to ask him what he’s going to do
next.
“I’m going to Disney World!”
The Don Callis Family is Ready for the Main Event
Okada laughed at the Young Bucks' belief that he was their
family. He is only loyal to one Family, unlike Takeshita,
who was shaking hands with Jon Moxley at Revolution.
Tonight, Okada teams with RPG Vice to pick up a main event
victory for the Don Callis Family.
No Holds Barred: Mina Shirakawa def. Marina Shafir
While Shafir made her way to the ring, we went back to the
pre-Dynamite attack of “Timeless” Toni Storm that took her
out of action tonight. Shirakawa pointed the finger at
Shafir, who was evasive about what she did or didn’t do to
Storm. Shirakawa came to the ring with a barbed wire bat and
swung it wildly at Shafir at the bell. Shirakawa landed a
shot on Shafir’s leg, but Shafir fought through it and
chucked Shirakawa to the mat. Shafir grabbed the bat, but
Shirakawa knocked it away and punished Shafir with a barrage
of kicks and strikes.
Shirakawa pulled a champagne-filled bucket from under the
ring and put it in the corner. She grabbed a third bottle
and tried to attack Shafir, but Shafir knocked the bottle
away and slammed Shirakawa with a uranage. Shafir judo-
tossed Shirakawa around the ring with ease and brought a
chair in to create some extra impact. Shafir popped a bottle
and took a few swigs as she continued to work over
Shirakawa. Shirakawa came back to knock the bottle away and
hit a La Mistica onto the chair. Shirakawa came off the top
with a dropkick and then a chair shot to the back.
Shirakawa hit an avalanche slingblade from the top to the
chair, but Shafir kicked out! Shirakawa hit a couple more
chair shots and tried a figure four, but Shafir kicked free.
Shirakawa knocked Shafir down and went for a springboard
tornillo, but she landed right in Mother’s Milk! Shirakawa
freed herself by gouging Shafir’s eyes, so Shafir hit a
running kick to Shirakawa’s head. Shafir retrieved a table
from under the ring and set it up near the apron. Shirakawa
and Shafir traded shots until Shafir lifted Shirakawa for a
backdrop suplex that put both women through the table and to
the floor!
Shafir threw Shirakawa back in the ring and put her knee on
Shirakawa’s chest for a cocky pin, but Shirakawa kicked out
at two! While Shafir yelled at the ref, Shirakawa grabbed a
champagne bottle and smashed it over Shafir’s head! She
nailed Shafir with a backfist and immediately followed with
a Storm Zero! 1-2-3! MINA WINS!
MJF is Paying the Don Callis Family to Handle Darby Allin
Renee Paquette asked Andrade what he wanted to do next. He
said he wanted the AEW World Title, but was interrupted by
Jonathan Cruz, who tried to give him a large silver
briefcase from MJF. Andrade wasn’t interested, so Cruz
brought in Don Callis on a video call and asked Andrade if
he could accept this large sum of money on behalf of the Don
Callis Family. Andrade asked if they were working with MJF.
Callis said he understands the conflict because he wants the
AEW World Title, but Darby Allin has become a pest, and MJF
has asked us to take care of him for a large sum of money.
Andrade reluctantly accepted the money.
AEW National Champion “Jungle” Jack Perry & Young Bucks
(Matt and Nick Jackson) def. Don Callis Family (AEW
International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada,
Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero)
Perry and Okada began this match with Okada taunting his
former stablemates in The Elite. Perry came back to take
Okada down, so RPG Vice hit the ring to attack Perry and
knock the Bucks to the outside. Matt and Nick pulled Romero
and Beretta to the outside and got in the ring to triple-
team Okada, who tried to beg off. They took turns with shots
on Okada until the Bucks hit an assisted hurricanrana,
sending him to the outside. The Bucks then hit a
gutbuster/backbreaker combo on Romero, followed by an
assisted German suplex on Beretta! Matt hit a pair of boots
through the ropes, and Nick flew over him to take out the
Callis Family. Perry flew off the top with a moonsault that
took out Okada, Beretta and Romero!
Back in the ring, Perry lined up Okada for a flying knee,
but Romero grabbed Perry, which gave Okada the chance to
attack. Romero came off the top with a shotgun dropkick to
launch Perry from the ropes to the mat, where Beretta met
him with a basement knee, followed by Okada dropping Perry
with a neckbreaker! Perry faced an onslaught of offense from
the Callis Family with no opportunities to tag the Bucks.
Finally, Perry nailed Okada with a comebacker lariat, as the
Bucks fired up the crowd to get Perry to the corner. He did
and tagged Nick! Nick escaped an RPG Vice double team and
took them out with an armdrag/tijeras combination. Nick ran
down the apron with a kick to Okada’s chest. Matt hit a
double Northern Lights suplex on RPG Vice! The Bucks hit a
senton/elbow drop combo on Beretta! They called for a
superkick party, but Beretta and Romero fought it off until
Beretta superkicked Romero by mistake! RPG Vice came back
with jumping knees and sent the Bucks to the apron, but the
Bucks came back in to lock in double sharpshooters while
Perry locked Okada in the Snare Trap! Romero made it to the
bottom rope to break the holds as everyone else released
theirs.
Beretta stopped the Bucks from a flipping piledriver on
Romero, so Perry took out Beretta with a dive. Romero tried
to fight off the Bucks, but they recovered and tried the
flip piledriver again, only for Okada to cut off Nick with a
dropkick! Perry came back in, and Romero sent him into
Okada’s boot! Romero followed with a sliced bread on Perry
as Beretta hit Matt with a big knee strike. Romero went to
the top for the stomp on Matt as Beretta came down with
Crunchie! Perry made the save with a desperate dive!
Okada and RPG Vice mocked the Young Bucks' pose and picked
up the Jacksons and Perry for triple tombstone piledrivers,
but they all escaped after taking a bite out of the Family
and tried triple small packages for three two-counts! The
superkick party began, and Romero got a triple superkick!
The Bucks nailed a BTE Trigger on Romero, followed by a
flying knee strike by Perry to get the pinfall victory in
our main event!
Nick got on the mic after the match and said tonight was
bittersweet because they just had a great tag match, but at
Revolution, they blew it. They were so sure they were going
to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles that they had their
family in the front row and their kids in their entrance
gear, just to see them lose. Nick said FTR was the better
team. Matt said they went to his birthday party that night,
and he couldn’t look anyone in the eye. That was, until the
Bucks got a pep talk from Papa Buck to remind them of who
the hell they are. And if they have to scratch and claw,
there isn’t anyone in the back who can stop them from
getting their AEW World Tag Team Titles back!
YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!
Adam Copeland made his way down the aisle, followed by
Christian Cage, and they joined the Young Bucks in the ring.
Copeland laughed and said, “Never thought you’d see this,
huh?”
The crowd chanted “HOLY S***!”
Copeland said they have a lot of respect for the Bucks, and
the match they had at Revolution was one of the best he’s
ever seen, so they don’t have to hang their heads. And they
have something in common with the Bucks, because FTR
attacked Copeland’s wife, Beth. Adam said Beth Copeland is
badass, and she doesn’t need him to protect her. But he
hasn’t been able to look her in the eye as they waited to
see if she needed spinal surgery over the last six months.
But now she’s out of the woods, so he needed to get back to
AEW and rectify the situation. The way to rectify the
situation with FTR isn’t to break their bones, but to take
the thing more important than their families, the AEW World
Tag Team Championships.
Copeland said they respect the Bucks, so he wanted them to
hear this from him. At AEW Dynamite, it’s going to be FTR
vs. Cage and Cope 2 for the AEW World Tag Team
Championships.
Christian took the mic and said he understood the situation
is deeply personal for Cope and the Bucks, but it’s deeply
personal for him, too. Because if he wins the AEW World Tag
Team Championships, it means he makes a ton of extra money.
“But also it’s personal, because not only do we get to prove
we’re the best tag team of our generation, we get to prove
we’re the best tag team of your generation.”
That brought out AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and a
limping Big Stoke to the top of the ramp. Big Stoke started
to talk, but was immediately told to shut up by Cope, Cage
and the Jacksons. Wheeler charged the ring right into double
superkicks from the Bucks, and Harwood was damn near cut in
half by a spear from Cope! Wheeler walked into a low blow
from Christian and rolled out of the ring. The Bucks and
Cope and Christian both tried to pick up the AEW World Tag
Team Titles at the same time, but Matt and Nick let them go
as Cope and Christian held the belts and looked down at FTR
as Dynamite came to a close!
