Tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown will have a huge main event
with WrestleMania implications as WWE champion Drew McIntyre
will be defending his gold against Cody Rhodes, with the
winner moving on to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42.
Rhodes was on the receiving end of an attack from McIntyre
at last week’s Elimination Chamber premium live event and a
quick RKO on both McIntyre and Rhodes let to Orton winning
the match and earning his title shot at WrestleMania.
Also announced are Carmelo Hayes defending the United States
title in the weekly open challenge and a tag team gauntlet
match to determine the #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team
titles.
Plus, number one contender for the WWE Women’s title, Rhea
Ripley, will come to Smackdown as her feud with Jade Cargill
continues and The Irresistible Forces will have a
celebration following their WWE Women’s Tag Team title win
last week.
Smackdown airs on USA Network starting at 8PM ET.
