After a hot start to the week in Denver, we returned for AEW
Collision on TNT and streaming on HBO Max! With AEW
Revolution just two weekends away on March 15 in Los
Angeles, there was a lot to address, which explained why AEW
World Champion MJF marched right down to the ring to begin
the night.
Meanwhile, the main event lived up to the expectations of a
hard-hitting affair. In the end, it was another impressive
win for Andrade El Idolo, as he needed everything in his
arsenal to keep Tomohiro Ishii’s shoulders on the mat for a
three-count. Andrade and ROH World Champion Bandido then
faced off in the ring ahead of their one-on-one showdown at
Revolution!
The Death Riders beat the Don Callis Family in 8-Man Tag
Team action, but after the match, “The Alpha” Konosuke
Takeshita and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley got into
it and had to be separated multiple times! Later, ProtOkada
made Callis happy with their first win as a team, so TNT
Champion Kyle Fletcher declared that he and AEW
International Champion Kazuchika Okada were the greatest
champions in AEW. That turned into a confrontation with two-
thirds of the AEW World Trios Champions, JetSpeed!
Plus, Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander beat Sisters of Sin
but heard from AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla before she
defends against Thunder in four days on Dynamite! “Timeless”
Toni Storm had a successful return to action and gave us the
gift of exposing Wheeler Yuta’s bald head! And Tommaso
Ciampa took his first step back toward the TNT Title with a
victory over his old rival, Jay Lethal!
All that and so much more happened tonight to complete a
great week of AEW action in Denver! Here are your complete
Collision results.
AEW World Champion MJF Challenges AEW World Trios Champion
“The Jet” Kevin Knight for Dynamite!
The AEW World Champion wasted no time marching down the ramp
as soon as his music hit, as he was clearly too angry to
make his normal entrance with the usual pomp and
circumstance.
“This show does not start until Revolution gets rectified!”
MJF went on to say he’s not a “death match indie bum.” He
referred to himself as a “real professional wrestler” and
demanded that Tony Khan come out to change the stipulation.
He continued, saying there was no shot he was doing a Texas
Death Match against “Hangman” Adam Page at Revolution. MJF
didn’t get Khan, but he did get one-third of the AEW World
Trios Champions and Page’s Jet Set Rodeo partner, “The Jet”
Kevin Knight!
Knight said he heard everything MJF was saying, and if he
wants to talk about getting something done, that’s all
Knight has been doing by stacking wins. Knight also got the
job done when MJF tried to weasel his way out of the
stipulation on Dynamite, as he helped send MJF back to the
ring so that the coin could be exposed.
“Tonight, the job I’m getting done is shutting your whining
ass up, you crybaby-ass b****!”
Knight continued with a proposal to rectify the situation,
as the people were tired of hearing MJF’s tired routine
about how much better he is than we are and how much more
money he has. An increasingly confident Knight continued,
saying he dressed better than MJF and that Knight has more
swag than MJF can ever imagine.
“Not to mention, you know it, the people in Denver know it,
the people all around the world know it, that The Jet is
just way more handsome than you, too. Back to the matter at
hand, it sounds like The Jet may be a better world champion
than you, too. So not only is The Jet the future. The Jet is
the here and now.”
Finally, MJF responded. “Okay, listen to me, you ignorant,
arrogant child. You think you’re a champion? You think
you're world-championship material? You wanna tell MJF, you
wanna tell Big Hebrew how to do his job? No, no, no, no, no,
no, NO! I’ll tell you what, you call yourself ‘The Jet?’ How
bout you get your ass on a jet, and you jet over to El Paso,
Texas. You wanna be a world champion? Kevin Knight vs. MJF.
El Paso Dynamite for the Triple B. I’m glad you’re smiling,
bro, because you’re going to be taught a lesson. Because
you’re not the future. Hell, you’re not even the now. After
I’m through with you, little buddy, all you’re gonna be is
history.”
MJF dropped the mic and left the ring, as we were left to
wonder if an AEW World Championship match was coming our way
in just four days on Dynamite!
Mark Briscoe Helps Preview Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jay Lethal
Briscoe spoke over highlights of his TNT Title match with
Ciampa that saw Ciampa become TNT Champion on Collision last
month before losing it to Kyle Fletcher just 10 days later.
Briscoe addressed Ciampa and said he’s just the type of
hard-hitting individual that he loves to get in the ring
with and wants a chance to get his win back. Briscoe warned
Ciampa not to lose his focus because he faces another friend
of Briscoe’s, Jay Lethal.
Ciampa spoke of the history between him and Lethal that goes
back to ROH, which always felt unfinished. Lethal said
winning the ROH TV Title from Ciampa catapulted him to
becoming the franchise of Ring of Honor. When he beats
Ciampa again tonight, it will be another career highlight.
Ciampa said tonight, a shadow of Lethal’s past comes back to
haunt him and will be the first step to Ciampa getting back
his TNT Title.
Briscoe closed it out, “Jay Lethal vs. Tommaso Ciampa is
what I’m talkin' about! Let’s get it!”
8-Man Tag Match: Death Riders (CMLL World Heavyweight
Champion Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia and
PAC) vs. Don Callis Family (“Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander,
Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta)
AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley joined the broadcast
desk for this match, as the Death Riders did push-ups in
front of him while waiting for the Callis Family to make
their way down the ramp.
Romero and Garcia opened up this huge 8-man tag, although a
brief confrontation between Archer and Marina Shafir delayed
the bell. Garcia was a step ahead of Romero with a short
dropkick before bringing in PAC for a double-team that saw
PAC hit a standing moonsault for a two-count!
Tony Schiavone broke the news on commentary that Tony Khan
made it official between AEW World Champion MJF and “The
Jet” Kevin Knight for the AEW World Title on Dynamite in El
Paso!
Romero rolled away from PAC to tag Alexander, so PAC tagged
Castagnoli. This brought us back to last week’s CMLL World
Heavyweight Championship match, which saw Castagnoli defeat
Alexander. As both men jockeyed for position, both on their
feet and on the mat, Castagnoli finally won control with a
gutwrench suplex that sent Alexander to his corner to tag
Archer. As Castagnoli and Archer faced off, Alexander nailed
Castagnoli from behind, which allowed Archer to take control
with three running elbows in the corner. Romero tagged back
in, and in came Beretta for the first time, but Castagnoli
ran through both of them with clotheslines. He tagged in
Yuta, who was still covering his bald head with a hat and
earned a chorus of boos from the crowd. Alexander tripped up
Yuta before he could execute a dive, but PAC booted
Alexander before he could remove Yuta’s hat. Beretta came in
and tried the same, but this time it was Garcia who came to
Yuta’s aid until Romero put him down. Castagnoli made
another save for Yuta, so Archer came in to take him out.
Now, it was Archer who went for the hat, but Yuta bit him
and turned a chokeslam attempt into a DDT. Yuta flipped over
the top and took out the Callis Family in front of the
announce desk.
Back in the ring, Yuta put Beretta down with a snap suplex
to get a one-count. PAC tagged back and lit Beretta up with
a combo of kicks that sent him to the corner. PAC followed
with a running pump kick to Beretta’s face. PAC went to the
top, but Romero distracted him long enough for Beretta to
pull PAC off the top rope for a pendulum suplex. Romero
tagged back in and went to the top for a dropkick on PAC,
who Romero hung over the ropes! Romero celebrated like he
scored a goal, as he clearly learned nothing from the last
time he tried that with Kenny Omega.
PAC struggled to get out of the Callis Family corner for an
extended period, as they did everything they could to
isolate him from the Death Riders. PAC tried to get loose,
but Alexander put him down with a senton’s fireman’s carry
slam. Alexander missed a knee from the top, so PAC hit a
suplex. The Callis Family ran in to stop the tag, but PAC
finally fought back and tagged Castagnoli as Alexander
tagged Beretta! Castagnoli knocked Archer off the apron and
Beretta and Alexander into opposite corners with uppercuts.
Beretta finally cut him off with a boot, so Castagnoli
turned back to Archer for the giant swing. Beretta came off
the top to stop it, so Castagnoli let go of Archer and
connected with an uppercut to Beretta on his way down!
Castagnoli got a two-count from that offense and tagged
Yuta, who went to the top rope for a super Hart Attack!
Beretta kicked out again! Yuta used hammer-and-anvil elbows,
but Romero came back in to double-team Yuta with a pair of
knees from RPG Vice. Archer got back in and chokeslammed
Yuta, which nearly knocked the hat off his bald head!
Archer threw out Garcia, so Castagnoli tried to come in with
a chair, but the referee stopped him. While that was
happening, Shafir jumped on Archer’s back to save Yuta!
Archer broke free and lifted Shafir for the Blackout until
she slipped back down to a choke. Archer flipped her off him
and attempted a clothesline, but Shafir rolled through, as
Yuta came off the ropes with a dropkick on Archer. PAC
followed with a superkick, Garcia nailed a running forearm,
and Castagnoli uppercutted Archer to the corner. Castagnoli
cleared the Callis Family off the apron, and the Death
Riders huddled before the conveyor belt attacks with the 4-
on-1 advantage until Castagnoli put Archer down with a
massive powerslam! Castagnoli launched Yuta from the top,
but the Callis Family jumped back in to break the count!
While everyone else spilled to the outside, Archer dropped
Yuta in the ring and made the tag to Romero. He hit a sliced
bread on Yuta for a two-count! Yuta escaped another attempt
to hit a Busaiku knee on Romero for the pinfall victory! The
Death Riders win!
Moxley joined the Death Riders in the ring, but they were
interrupted by the entrance of Moxley’s Revolution opponent,
“The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita, who had a mic in his hand!
Takeshita entered the ring, but dropped the mic and went
right after Moxley! They weren’t able to do much, as the
Death Riders and Callis Family came in to separate them, but
Takeshita broke free until they were quickly separated
again. Moxley was on his way up the ramp, but Takeshita
broke free again, and this time he got to Moxley! Takeshita
and Mox traded shots until they were both pulled away for a
final time! In 15 days, Moxley will defend the AEW
Continental Championship against Takeshita with no time
limit!
“Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa def. Jay Lethal
Lethal was accompanied to the ring by The Swirl, Blake
Christian and Lee Johnson, who Lethal recently began
mentoring in ROH. The two men circled each other at the bell
and worked to a stalemate in their first exchange. The two
exchanged words face-to-face until Ciampa pushed Lethal, so
Lethal responded with a slap to the face, and the fight was
on!
The two went back-and-forth with chops until Ciampa tried to
cut off Lethal, but Lethal did it first with a kick to the
gut. Ciampa came back with a back elbow to the chin and
followed up with a big boot right to Lethal's head and then
dropped them with a side suplex. It took him some time to
clean his hands off, and then he went back to work, throwing
Lethal into the corner. Lethal reversed Ciampa into the
corner and charged in, but Ciampa got his boots up. Lethal
threw him over the second rope and pounded on his back until
the referee pulled Lethal away. With the referee distracted,
Blake Christian ran in with a sliding German suplex to
Ciampa, changing the complexion of the matchup!
Lethal pounced on Ciampa and started wailing away before
bringing him back up for a running back elbow of his own.
Lethal took the opportunity to strut and look over his
handiwork as Ciampa tried to recover on the mat. Lethal
threw Ciampa to the outside, so Lee Johnson tried to take a
cheap shot at Ciampa, but Ciampa blocked and hit one of his
own. Christian came flying off the steps, but Ciampa got out
of the way and then dropped him with a clothesline! Ciampa
got back up on the apron, but Lethal hit a springboard
dropkick to put him back on the floor and followed with a
dive that sent Ciampa up and over the announced desk! Lethal
took a seat on the desk and admired Ciampa’s beaten body on
the floor.
Ciampa took a lot of punishment, but turned things around
back in the ring when he cut off Lethal on the top rope with
a chop. Ciampa met Lethal on top, so Lethal knocked him back
to the mat. Lethal went for the King’s Elbow, but adjusted
in mid-air to avoid Ciampa’s boot and tried for a figure
four. Ciampa stopped him and rolled up Lethal for a near-
fall! Ciampa reversed a dragon screw into another near-fall.
Lethal countered Ciampa into the Lethal Combination and
returned to the top rope. He came off with a King’s Elbow,
but once again Ciampa was ready for it and hooked him into a
pinning predicament that nearly won the match. Both men got
back to their feet and exchanged strikes until Lethal tried
for a Lethal Injection, but Ciampa followed him to the ropes
and swung wildly, only for Lethal to drop him with a cutter.
Lethal saw another chance for a Lethal Injection, and yet
again Ciampa followed him in to hit a pair of boots to the
face! Ciampa hit a devastating Project Ciampa, but somehow
Lethal kicked out!
Ciampa lowered his knee pad, so Johnson got on the apron to
distract him. Ciampa knocked him off and backdropped an
attacking Christian to the floor onto Johnson! Lethal rolled
up Ciampa for a two-count, but Ciampa came off his knee with
a short-range dropkick followed by a knee to a kneeling
Lethal! Ciampa backed up into the corner and crushed Lethal
with a bicycle knee to get the 1-2-3 and victory!
The IInspiration Are Here in AEW!
Cassie and Jessie introduced themselves and said they were
the highlight of the night at House Rules when they made
their AEW debut in Australia. They said they were so happy
for the Brawling Birds to make their debut as a tag team,
but when Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor ran in to confront
them, they took it as the Birds trying to steal their
spotlight.
Jessie said, “Ladies, you don’t have the balls to go face-
to-face with The IInspiration!”
They announced that they’ll make their Dynamite debut this
upcoming Wednesday, so the Brawling Birds have three
options, “Step up, step back or step aside for THE
IINSPIRATION!”
We Learn More About Clark Connors
We took a look at a special presentation from AEW and The
Dogs on Clark Connors. He said he knows how to fight dirty
because he does it for a living. “You know what they say: No
one ever really wins in a fight.”
Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) def. Gypsy
Mac & Tyra Russamee
Hayter quickly threw Mac to the mat and overpowered her with
an exploder suplex. Hayter threw Mac to her corner so that
she could tag Russamee. Hayter tagged Windsor, who came
right in with clubbing blows to Russamee’s back. Windsor
punished Russamee in the corner and then kicked her in the
back to get a near-fall. Hayter made a blind tag so that the
Birds could hit an assisted boot on a prone Russamee. Birds
pounded away on Russamee as Windsor ran over Mac on the
floor. Russamee ate chops from both Hayter and Windsor in
the corner, which they followed with a double suplex. They
sandwiched Russamee with lariats and finished her off with
Two Birds, One Stone, securing another impressive victory!
A $200K 4-Way Tag Team Match Next Week!
We heard from The Swirl, Private Party, the Outrunners and
LFI’s Místico and RUSH, as they all made their case for
winning next week’s $200K 4-Way Tag Match in Tucson,
Arizona, on Collision!
Tag Team Match: ProtOkada (TNT Champion “The Protostar” Kyle
Fletcher and AEW International Champion “The Rainmaker”
Kazuchika Okada) def. Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius
Martin)
For the first time ever, the friendship of ProtOkada came
together as a tag team, as Don Callis joined commentary.
Okada opened the match with Darius, who exchanged chain
wrestling with Okada and earned a round of applause from the
AEW International Champion. Okada clearly wasn’t sincere, as
he took the chance to cheap-shot Darius and tag Fletcher.
They came together for a double big boot on Darius and posed
for the Denver crowd. Christopher Daniels conferred with
Darius on the outside before he pulled himself back into the
ring and caught Fletcher with an uppercut, followed by a
dropkick into the Top Flight corner. Dante tagged in and hit
a running clothesline in the corner, as Darius tagged back
in to put Fletcher back on the mat with an assisted suplex.
Dante flew over the top with a senton to get a two-count.
Fletcher knocked Dante into the ropes and blocked a stunner,
which allowed Okada to pull Dante’s leg long enough for
Fletcher to send him over the top with a clothesline. Okada
followed with a DDT that spiked Dante on the floor!
ProtOkada has taken full control of this matchup!
Fletcher did a little too much showboating and was flattened
by Dante with a crossbody reversal. Fletcher tagged Okada,
who sprinted to the opposite corner to knock Darius off the
mat. Darius flipped over a sliding Okada and made the tag to
Darius! He knocked Okada down and Fletcher off the apron.
Darius sent Okada to the ropes and caught him with a Spanish
fly before immediately diving onto Fletcher on the floor!
Darius came back in the ring for a leaping spear into Okada
in the corner. Darius hit Okada with a fisherman’s suplex,
but Okada kicked out at two. Okada turned things around with
a flapjack and tagged Fletcher. Fletcher dropped Darius with
a superkick, followed by a Michinoku Driver for a near-fall.
Fletcher signaled for a running boot, but Darius moved out
of the corner and tagged Dante. Dante hit a rising kick and
dropkicked Fletcher into a German suplex from Darius. Top
Flight hit a tandem Angel’s Wings on Fletcher, but Okada
broke up the pin! Darius tagged Dante, but Okada pulled
Dante to the floor and laid out Daniels with a big boot!
Fletcher and Darius went back and forth until Fletcher
floored Darius with a lariat. Okada tagged in and tried for
a Rainmaker, but Darius got out of it only to run into
Okada’s dropkick. Okada hit a Rainmaker on the second
attempt, which should have been enough to end it, but he
smiled and tagged Fletcher. Fletcher ran across the ring
with a huge boot that knocked Dante to the floor. He crushed
Darius with a brainbuster to get the pinfall victory for
ProtOkada!
After the win, Fletcher demanded Denver say his full name.
Fletcher said he and Okada are the greatest champions in
AEW’s history. But now, together as ProtOkada, they are
unstoppable. So whoever wants to step up to them…
Two-thirds of the AEW World Trios Champions, JetSpeed, “The
Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey, walked out to
interrupt. Bailey said they might be unstoppable, but in the
Continental Classic, Bailey beat Fletcher, and Knight beat
Okada. Knight said, based on that, the math ain’t mathing
when it comes to calling themselves the greatest champions
in AEW. Okada responded, “You’ve never beaten ProtOkada!”
Fletcher added, “...Biiiiiitch!”
Knight said JetSpeed versus ProtOkada would be a box-office
draw. Knight added that after he beats MJF for the AEW World
Title on Dynamite, he’d love for Okada to be his first
defense. Bailey pointed out Fletcher’s “cow-udder-pink” TNT
Championship, and he’d love to beat Fletcher for that, too.
And while they are making matches, Jet Set Rodeo would be
happy to defend the AEW World Trios Titles against ProtOkada
and any other member of the Don Callis Family. Knight said
it doesn’t matter because the result will always be the
same.
“Jet Set Rodeo on top…bitch.”
Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy Want The Dogs!
We looked back on the battles between Darby Allin and Orange
Cassidy and Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors, both in and out of
the ring. Allin said The Dogs have been trying to kill him,
but there’s a reason he didn’t die in a car crash as a child
or on Mount Everest. He has so much more to offer to life.
The story doesn’t end with Allin and Kidd.
“Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy. The Dogs. It’s showtime!”
“Timeless” Toni Storm def. Zayda Steel of SkyFlight
For the first time in nearly two months, Storm was back in
singles action on Collision! And in quite the strategic
maneuver, Steel kissed Storm’s hand at the bell. Storm and
Steel traded some chain wrestling and ended in a stalemate.
Steel offered her hand to Storm, so Storm worked into a
brief test of strength. Steel tried a pair of shoulder
tackles to no avail, but when Storm tried one of her own,
Steel followed her to the ropes with a hurricanrana. She
snapmared Storm to the mat and connected with a basement
dropkick. Steel covered Storm and got a two-count. Steel
went for a bodyslam, but Storm reversed it into one of her
own and followed with a snap suplex to get a near-fall.
Storm hooked Steel for Storm Zero, but Steel escaped in
between Storm’s legs and kicked her to the apron. Steel
caught Storm on the way back in with a boot and immediately
followed with a lungblower that sent Storm to the floor.
Steel got a head of steam and took out Storm with a tope
suicida. Steel threw Storm in and went to the top for a
crossbody, which connected, but Storm kicked out at two.
Storm broke free of an Unprettier attempt and nailed three
German suplexes! With Steel down in the corner, Storm called
for the hip attack and crushed Steel. Storm finished Steel
off with the Storm Zero for the win!
After the match, Marina Shafir ran in to attack Storm and
beat her into the corner! Shafir took a moment to remove her
jersey, but that gave Storm the chance to recover and take
Shafir down with a Lou Thesz press! She rained down punches
on Shafir until Wheeler Yuta came in to stop her. Storm
grabbed Yuta’s hat and FINALLY exposed his bald head! Denver
absolutely loved it! Yuta ran away in embarrassment while
Storm modeled Yuta’s hat as Shafir looked at the ring with a
death stare from the ramp.
Anthony Bowens Wants to Join HOOK in The Opps
HOOK made it clear that the Opps are in the midst of
recruitment. He said everybody wanted to join them, but then
stopped to talk to a random man. HOOK asked if he wrestled
and wanted to join The Opps? The man enthusiastically said
yes, to which HOOK responded, “Bet you do, bro!” HOOK called
the guy an idiot and moved on, then came across Anthony
Bowens.
Bowens said hello to HOOK and Shibata, who was manning the
camera. Bowens understands the recruitment process and
wonders if anyone, including Shibata, knows that Bowens and
HOOK are best friends. Bowens has had HOOK’s back since they
both got started in AEW. Bowens thinks it would be a
fantastic idea if he continued to have HOOK’s back and
joined the Opps. “On top of that, you’re getting a former
AEW Tag Team champion, a former Trios champion and ‘The
Pride of Professional Wrestling.’”
HOOK admitted they were friends and said Bowens didn’t have
to sell himself with his accolades because they are really
impressive. But this is business, so the question is whether
Bowens is a proper fit for the Opps? The Opps is a group of
killers.
“Shibata: killer. Samoa Joe: killer. HOOK: killer. Bowens:
killer? Let me think about it. And you make sure you think
about what I said.”
Tag Team Match: Thunder Rosa & Kris Statlander def. Sisters
of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue)
Thunder and Hart started the match, although Thunder
immediately went on the offensive and caught Hart off guard.
Thunder nearly won the match with a diving clothesline to a
seated Hart, but Hart kicked out in time. Hart got Thunder
into her corner, which allowed Blue to tag in for a double-
team flapjack on Thunder. After a pair of kicks, Blue
covered for just a one-count. Thunder booted Blue and
slapped her from the mat. Thunder took a shot at Hart and
then raced across the ring for a jumping clothesline to
Blue. Statlander tagged in to hit a running uppercut on
Blue, followed by a running knee strike to set up a
fisherman’s driver for a two-count.
Blue escaped from Statlander’s clutches to tag Hart, who
immediately ran into a pair of shots from Statlander. Hart
was sent to the corner, but got her foot up as Statlander
charged in and added a back elbow to Thunder on the apron.
Statlander came back with a forearm shiver and tried for a
back suplex, but Hart rolled out of it and tagged Blue.
Statlander knocked Blue off the apron before she could enter
and slammed Hart to the mat before running her over with a
diving clothesline. Statlander tried to dive to the floor
only to run into a kick from Blue. Hart dropped Statlander
over the second rope with a neckbreaker, which allowed Blue
floor Statlander with a huge kick! Statlander defiantly
kicked out at one, but Sisters of Sin stayed on the attack!
Hart controlled Statlander’s arm as she walked the top rope
before wrenching the shoulder down in a violent manner. Hart
held Statlander for Blue, but Statlander moved at the last
second, and Blue nailed her own partner with a bicycle knee!
Statlander kicked Hart into the corner and catapulted Blue
into Hart! That allowed her to tag Thunder, who flew out of
the corner to unload on both Hart and Blue! With each one
seated in the corner, Thunder hit a basement dropkick to
Hart and then another to Blue before catching Blue with a
Northern Lights suplex that she bridged for a pin attempt.
Hart broke it up! Blue got away from Thunder with a
jawbreaker and tagged Hart. Thunder was waiting for her with
a cutter and tagged Statlander. Statlander sent Hart reeling
with a major pump kick, but walked right into a swinging
neckbreaker by Blue. Thunder put Blue down with a
lungblower, only for Hart to put Thunder on the mat with a
back heel trip.
Hart cut off Statlander with an elbow strike to the face and
followed with a double Sole Food and a crescent kick that
sent Statlander into the corner. Blue threw Thunder out of
the ring, so Statlander came flying out of the corner for a
double clothesline on the Sisters of Sin, but they ducked
and nailed stereo superkicks. They put Statlander on the mat
with a double front suplex and added another pair of kicks,
but Thunder got back in time to break up the pin!
All four women fought back to their feet until Blue and Hart
hit another pair of superkicks. Hart threw Thunder to the
floor, but Thunder got back in time to pull Hart out of the
ring before they could hit any more tandem offense on
Statlander. Thunder threw Hart into the barricade, as
Statlander folded Blue in half with a German suplex. Thunder
threw Hart back into Statlander and made the tag as
Statlander nailed Hart with Staturday Night Fever. Rosa
finished Hart off with a Tijuana Bomb to get the win for her
team!
AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla interrupted the
celebration from the ramp.
“If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s not one, but two
dumb bitches!”
Thekla questioned if Thunder Rosa was ready to get toxic?
She told Statlander to tell Thunder Rosa how Thekla made her
cry, made her bleed and took the AEW Women’s World
Championship from Statlander! Thekla said she doesn’t fight
to win, she fights to kill! So why doesn’t Thunder just
retire already?
“Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the past of the AEW
women’s division! Because now, it belongs to me!”
Andrade El Ídolo of the Don Callis Family def. Tomohiro
Ishii of The Conglomeration
Our main event was a highly anticipated, first-time singles
match between Andrade and Ishii, with Callis once again on
commentary.
Andrade tried to grind Ishii down with a headlock, but that
quickly turned into Ishii fighting free with strikes. He
threw Andrade to the ropes, so Andrade took the opportunity
to hang and taunt Ishii! Ishii charged, but Andrade met him
with a shoulder to the midsection. Andrade went to the top
rope, but Ishii hit a rising elbow strike to stop him. Ishii
went up to the second rope and hooked Andrade for a
superplex, so Andrade blocked it and headbutted Ishii to the
mat before coming off with a crossbody to get a near-fall.
Ishii fired back up with chops until Andrade cut him off
with a kick to the gut. Ishii put Andrade right back down
with a shoulder block, but when he went back to the ropes,
Andrade followed with a powerful dropkick to send Ishii to
the floor.
Ishii stopped Andrade’s springboard attempt and pulled him
off the apron, with Andrade’s head hitting on the way down.
Ishii threw Andrade back in and chopped him into the corner.
Andrade slowed Ishii with a boot to the face, and as Ishii
tried for a back suplex, Andrade gouged his eyes and floored
him with a running kick. Ishii kicked out at two! Andrade
threw Ishii to the floor and met him with a chop before
bouncing Ishii’s head off the announce desk. Andrade took a
trip over to the front row, where he received a snack from
an adoring fan, who then draped herself all over Andrade for
a selfie. Andrade went back to work on Ishii in the ring, as
he remained in total control for several minutes.
Andrade tried for three amigos, but Ishii turned it around
into a suplex of his own! That brought Callis off commentary
and over to the ring, so he could slam the mat to revive
Andrade. Ishii punished Andrade with chops in the corner and
reversed a hammer-throw attempt into a suplex on Andrade’s
head and neck! Andrade and Ishii each blocked lariat
attempts until Andrade went back into the three amigos and
connected, but Ishii kicked out of the arrogant cover!
Andrade tried to fire himself up for a running meteora in
the corner, but missed when Ishii moved and threw Andrade
back down with a German suplex. Andrade powered through it!
Andrade tried a lariat, but Ishii blocked it and dropped him
with a headbutt! Ishii sat Andrade up and hit a sliding
lariat, but Andrade got the left shoulder up in the nick of
time! Ishii pulled Andrade up for a brainbuster, but Andrade
stopped it. They exchanged elbow strikes, and Ishii jumped
into a forearm shiver that sent Andrade into the corner.
Andrade caught Ishii on the way in and threw him backwards
into the second turnbuckle. A dangerous smile crept across
Andrade’s face as he sensed the end was near. Andrade
smashed Ishii with a running meteora and thought he had it
won, but Ishii kicked out again!
After taking some time, Andrade went to the top for a
moonsault, but Ishii moved, so Andrade landed on his feet
and hit the moonsault on the second attempt! Ishii kicked
out at two! Andrade was incredulous! Andrade picked up Ishii
for The DM, but Ishii escaped with an enzigiri. Ishii put
Andrade down with a running lariat and tried for another
brainbuster, so Andrade floated out the back. Ishii
connected with a stiff forearm, so Andrade responded with a
big boot that Ishii pushed away, only for Andrade to turn
that into a devastating back elbow! Callis thought it was
over. Ishii didn’t and kicked out again! Andrade picked
Ishii up for The DM and executed it on the second attempt to
get the pinfall victory in the main event!
Andrade started to celebrate, but ROH World Champion Bandido
came out to the ramp, much like Andrade did to Bandido on
Dynamite. They will meet in 15 days at Revolution! Bandido
offered a handshake, so Andrade spat in his hand! Bandido
pointed at Andrade and the Revolution banner, as the two
exchanged words to close out our week in Denver!
