Thekla won the AEW Women’s title on Dynamite last night,
defeating Kris Statlander in a strap match which main
evented the broadcast.
The match ended when Statlander ate a spear from the
Austrian and then had both her hands tied up behind back.
Thekla delivered a curb stomp as well for good measure and
covered her for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, and Thekla continued
to beat up the now former champion until Jamie Hayter and
Alex Windsor came in for the save.
This ends Statlander’s 144-day reign as champion. She won
the title from Toni Storm at All Out in Toronto this past
September.
