The man formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW made his
WWE debut at the Royal Rumble yesterday in Riyadh, coming in
at #14.
His introduction first had his AEW name on the video screen
before it transitioned to his new WWE name, a combo of one
of his son’s names and his mother’s maiden name.
The lower third graphic also had “formerly known as
Powerhouse Hobbs” listed.
“He was once known as Powerhouse Hobbs,” Michael Cole said
on commentary. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Royce Keys to
WWE.”
Some of his former colleagues at AEW took to X to
congratulate him on his debut, with Amanda Huber, Darius
Martin, Wardlow, and Kevin Knight all mentioning him.
