POWERHOUSE HOBBS: Powerhouse Hobbs to wind up with AEW, to join WWE

After reports by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer
Newsletter that WWE was “very high” on Hobbs, Sean Ross Sapp
reported on Fightful Select and last night's Dynamite post-
show podcast reported that despite contract negotiations
over the past few months and a “substantial offer” to stay,
that Hobbs ended his time in AEW with last night’s post-
Collision taping.

He, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata defended the AEW Trios
titles on the show against Hangman Page and JetSpeed.

Sapp reported on last night's post-Dynamite podcast that
Hobbs will join WWE at some point after his contract is up
(which was officially at midnight). Hobbs is said to be
leaving AEW on good terms, and simply wanted a change.

Hobbs first debuted for AEW in July 2020 and has been a
fixture ever since, holding the Trios titles for nearly 300
days in addition to a short TNT title run in 2023.
