A mini-tournament to determine a number one contender for
the WWE Championship was announced last night on Smackdown
by General Manager Nick Aldis.
Eight WWE Superstars will battle it out on next week’s
episode of Smackdown from London, England where the winners
will then move on for a match at the next Saturday Night’s
Main Event to determine who will face new champion Drew
McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.
The matches will consist of Randy Orton vs The Miz, Solo
Sikoa vs Damian Priest, Matt Cardona vs Trick Williams, and
Sami Zayn vs Ilja Dragunov.
Out of the eight, only Orton and Miz are former WWE
champions while Priest held the World Heavyweight title.
