The NXT Women’s North American title will be on the line on
the NXT New Year’s Evil episode with Thea Hail defending
against former champion Blake Monroe.
Hail won the title last week thanks to a botch when Monroe
failed to kick out before the count of three and the referee
proceeded with the count. Hail was never penned to win the
title but Monroe reportedly had the wind knocked out of her
after taking a springboard senton from Hail, resulting in the
inadvertent victory for Hail.
The young Hail had a victory celebration on yesterday’s
episode of NXT but she was interrupted by Monroe, who demanded
a title rematch after she said Hail’s win was just a mistake.
Both women eventually ended up brawling the end the segment.
