During the broadcast of Saturday Night’s Main Event
yesterday and before the final match of John Cena, Michael
Cole gave a nod to his broadcast colleagues who are no
longer working with WWE but also served a very important
voice during John Cena’s career.
Cole mentioned John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who apart from
having a fierce rivalry with Cena, was also calling his
matches on Smackdown and pay-per-views, coming up with the
term “big match John.”
The voice of WWE then mentioned Taz, who did commentary on
Smackdown with Cole during Cena’s rise, as well as WWE Hall
of Famers Jerry “The King” Lawler and the one and only Jim
Ross.
Corey Graves, who still works the booth on Smackdown, also
got a nod.
Both Taz and Jim Ross currently work for AEW.
