The original WrestleMania 41 card which was discussed for
weeks during the WWE: Unreal docuseries had 14 matches but
out of the 14 that were being worked on, only two ended up
being on the final card.
The show did end up having 14 matches at the end of the day
– seven on each show – but the card looked totally different
than the one the WWE creative team were shooting for.
Injuries, unexpected reactions, and just general change of
direction altered the majority of the card. Only Cody Rhodes
vs John Cena and Logan Paul vs AJ Styles ended up going from
the whiteboard to the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The other 12 matches which were proposed included Gunther vs
CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight title, Rhea Ripley vs
Bianca Belair for the WWE Women’s World title, Jade Cargill
vs Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s title, Becky Lynch and
Charlotte Flair vs Iyo Sky and Asuka for the WWE Women’s Tag
Team titles, Jey Uso vs Damian Priest vs Sheamus vs Sami
Zayn vs Bronson Reed vs Ludwig Kaiser in a ladder match for
the Intercontinental title, LA Knight vs Jimmy Uso vs
Andrade vs Santos Escobar vs Solo Sikoa vs Carmelo Hayes vs
Shinsuke Nakamura in a ladder match for the United States
title, Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins, Randy Orton vs Kevin
Owens, The Wyatt Sicks vs Judgment Day in a 10-person mixed
tag match, Bad Bunny vs Dominik Mysterio, and Bron Breakker
vs Drew McIntyre with Steve Austin as special guest referee,
Rey Mysterio vs Chad Gable.
