In an interview with Ring the Belle to promote her upcoming
book, The Last Hart Beating, former champion Natalya praised
Vince McMahon and his efforts in getting the women the
ability to perform during Saudi Arabia shows.
The first three WWE Saudi shows featured zero women in the
ring and it was only on the fourth attempt, at Crown Jewel
in 2019, that the women were allowed to perform, with
Natalya taking on Lacey Evans.
“The Saudi Arabia match…I said to Vince McMahon when WWE
first started doing stuff in Saudi Arabia, I said, ‘Vince, I
really want to go. I want to be the first woman to wrestle
in Saudi Arabia,’” Natalya said.
“Vince made it happen. He really wanted us to have more
visibility there, to be able to do what we love,” she
continued.
Natalya added that she will always be grateful to McMahon
for giving them that moment and for fighting with other
powers that be to feature women in future Saudi Arabia
premium live events.
“He had to fight. So, look at us now,” she said.
