Live! From St. Louis, Missouri.
Joe Tessitore & Wade Barrett were on commentary.
Oh! The first Hell in the Cell match was in this arena (I
checked!) 29 years ago this week.
— Last week, Raw was Attempted Vehicular Manslaughter. The
946’s real “opp” (as the kids say) are the desk workers at
AVIS. After a recap of last week’s garage shenanigans, Roman
Reigns arrives in his SUV. The Usos wanted to holler at him
quick, but LA Knight’s music played in the arena and Roman
was going to attend to that business.
The Hard Sell for Roman Reigns v. LA Knight
Knight was in the ring with a mic. Sure, members of the
Bloodline are dropping left and right, but the only thing
that matters is LA Knight and Roman Reigns at Money in the
Bank. Roman is part of the establishment, and Knight is here
to tear down that establishment. Sure, the 946 might attack
Roman, and they might attack Knight. But the difference
between Roman and Knight is that Knight is used to living in
the chaos.
Roman came out to retort. The crowd chanted “OTC!” while
Roman and LA Knight stared each other down. Roman asked
Knight if he could hear the OTC chants, and asked if Roman
looked fazed to LA Knight? Roman was born in the deep end.
It doesn’t matter what the OTC is doing, or how LA Knight is
running his mouth. Roman isn’t distracted, and he doesn’t
have LA Knight on the back burner.
Roman called Knight a hypocrite. After Roman was in “hostile
territory” having successfully defended his title in Mexico,
LA Knight took the low road and attacked him. Roman has
never taken his eyes off of LA Knight, even though they
aren’t on the same level. Roman told LA Knight that “the
plans” [the office has] for Knight is for him to be “another
egg in the omelette,” and Roman will break him at Money in
the Bank. This was very heelish stuff from Roman.
Roman demanded acknowledgment from the crowd and went to
leave, but Knight stopped Roman. He called Roman a
“corporate manufactured puppet” and they [the office] shoved
a rocket so far up his “a$$” that he might as well be
spitting out rocket fuel. Knight is going to take the title,
and there’s nothing that Roman can do about it. Having
gotten the last word, Knight left Roman pacing in the ring.
Je’Von Evans & Penta v. Bron Breakker & Austin Theory (w/
Maxxine Dupri & Logan Paul)
Penta and Evans tried to jump Breakker & Theory before the
bell, and this went so well for them that when Bron tackled
Penta, Penta kicked Evans in the face.
They brawled around the floor a bit, and Penta got over on
Breakker by kicking at his quads. Penta sent Breakker into
the ring barricade. Penta missed an enziguri on Breakker and
would up kicking the ring post.
The match finally started with Evans and Theory in the ring.
Theory tripped up Evans and tagged in Breakker, who
clotheslined Evans. The crowd chanted “Logan sucks!” That
seems mean with Theory right there. They did the spot where
Evans dove for the hot tag, but Theory pulled Penta off the
apron before the tag could be made. Breakker dumped Evans
over the top rope with an overhead belly to belly suplex.
After a commercial, Breakker and Theory combined for the
Steiner Brothers top-rope bulldog spot. Did you know the
Steiners were “relatives of Bron Breakker,” according to
Wade Barrett?
Tags were made on both sides, and Penta hit Theory with a
step-up rana and a facebuster. Gamengiri and the corner
handstand pendulum kick followed. Penta went for the Penta
Driver, but Theory pushed him off and ended up eating a
springboard DDT. Penta sent Breakker through the ropes, then
hit him with a tope suicida.
Evans flew into the ring with a springboard clothesline on
Theory. Evans went for a springboard, but Theory tripped him
up. While Maxxine Dupri distracted the ref, Logan Paul tried
to slide Theory the brass knuckles. But Paul overthrew them,
and Evans got the interception. Evans floored Theory with
the brass knuckles and got the pinfall.
Match Result: Penta & Evans were victorious when Evans
pinned Theory (8:31).
After the match, Bronson Reed jumped the winners and hit a
Tsunami splash on Penta. Oba Femi then ran in to make the
save. Femi made Breakker and Reed his own personal geek
squad, destroying them two-on-one. Femi clotheslined
Breakker over the top rope, then hit Reed with a forearm
that sent him to the floor.
Femi grabbed a mic and promised to take Bronson Reed will
take him into deep waters. The Vision can have his soul, and
Paul Heyman can have his mind, but at Money in the Bank,
Reed’s “a$$” belongs to Oba Femi.
— In a pre-taped segment, Liv Morgan complained about
getting screwed out of her women’s title and having to go
through Becky Lynch to get another shot.
— Jackie Redmond interviewed Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio,
and it didn’t take long for that deadbeat dad Rey to start
knocking his poor son, Dom. Dominik Mysterio and JD come
along, and this leads to challenge for a tag match. It’s a
good thing Adam Pearce only books 3 matches ahead of time to
leave room for these impromptu challenges.
— Roman confronted the Usos in their locker room about the
946. Roman doesn’t understand why they were taking orders
from Jacob, especially since he made the Usos captains!
Roman left, saying he would handle the 946.
Sol Ruca & Lola Vice v. Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez
The babyfaces jumped the heels before the bell. Vince and
Ruca were very effective double-teaming Rodriquez. They sent
her to the floor with a double clothesline. Ruca
backdropped Perez to the floor. Vice came off the apron with
a sit-down splash on Rodriguez. Vice followed that up with a
springboard corkscrew plancha.
After a commercial, Vice tagged in and kicked the crap out
of Perez. Rice and Ruca hit a double hip attack on their
opponents, who were slumped in opposite corners. Rodriguez
pulled Ruca off the apron to keep her from tagging Perez,
then pointed at her head to indicate how smart she was.
Rodriguez tagged in and hit Vice with a tag. Ruca tried for
a springboard, but Perez tripped her up. Rodriguez hit a
side slam for a near fall.
Barrett called this a “messy matchup,” which might be his
version of JR’s ‘bowling shoe ugly.”
Perez tripped up Roca when she went for the Soul Snatcher,
but Ruca escaped the Tejana Bomb.
The match ended with Vice hit Ruca with an errant spinning
backlist, and the Perez (after taking like 70% of the
punishment during the match) rolled up and bridged back to
pin Vice.
Match Result: Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sol
Ruca & Lola Vice when Perez pinned Vice (10:21).
Yeah, this was bowling shoe ugly.
— In the Bloodline locker room, Roman Reigns returned with
Adam Pearce. Next week on Raw, the 946 will face The
Bloodline. The Usos were excited to be teaming with the OTC,
but no, Roman’s already worked his one Raw this year.
Instead, they’ll be teaming with Solo Sikoa, who appeared in
the shot from such an angle that the only way he could have
done it was if he was in the room with the Usos before
Reigns and Pearce walked in.
But Solo got a *big* pop when he appeared on-screen. No
matter what angle he came in from.
Ethan Page v. Rey Fenix
Fenix is the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion, but this is
non-title. Fenix increased the pace in an attempt to gas
Page. Fenix caught him with a dropkick, then hit the
running-the-ropes punt. Fenix hit a tornillo off the top to
the floor on Page.
Back in the ring, Page tripped up Fenix as he went to the
top. Fenix got free of Page and hit a double-jump moonsault
for a near fall. Finally, Page hit a running boot to finally
get a breather.
After a break, Fenix was fighting his way out of a chinlock.
Page caught Fenix with a head and arm capture suplex for a
near fall. Fenix came back with a series of spin kicks.
Fenix hit an Oscutter/Lethal Injection for a near fall.
Fenix went for an Angel’s Wings, but Page escaped. Fenix hit
the move on a second try for a near fall. Fenix hit a
superkick for a near fall. Fenix kicked Page in the head and
went to the top. Page charged at him, but Fenix ducked. Page
then caught Fenix with a pair of powerslams for a near fall.
Page went for an avalanche powerslam, but Fenix slid out and
hit Page with a superkick. Fenix got Page up for a Muscle
Buster, but Page escaped and went for a fisherman’s suplex.
But Fenix countered that into a small package and got the
three count.
Match Result: Rey Fenix pinned Ethan Page (11:22).
— Joe Tessitore narrated a history/rules package for the
Money in the Bank matches. Women convert the Money in the
Bank contract into a world title 100% of the time, but men
only manage to convert it to a world title 78ish% of the
time.
— In the Judgment Day locker room, JD McDonagh received a
Funko Pop, courtesy of Joe Hendry. Whatever match that was
on the tv behind the Judgment Day was rated “lackluster.”
Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee v. Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh
Dominik teased starting the match against his dad, but opted
to tag out and let McDonagh start with Rey. Rey escaped a
hammerlock with a flying mare, then hit a dropkick and
tagged in Dragon Lee. Mysterio hit a legdrop (with Lee’s
assistance), and Lee followed up with a double stomp for a
near fall.
Lee hit a step-up rana, then the wrecking ball dropkick in
the corner. Lee followed up with a diving dropkick in the
corner. JD dropped to the floor to regroup, and Lee followed
him out with a tope con hilo. Dom ran around to try and
help, but Rey cut him off with a seated senton.
During the break, Dominik tripped up Rey, and he got caught
up in the ring apron. Rey escaped a chinlock from JD and hit
an enziguri, but Dom got the tag and cut off his dad’s
comeback attempt. Rey charged into a clothesline from
McDonagh. Rey tried for a Lionsault on JD, who caught him
and hung him up in the corner. JD charged at Rey, who sat
up, and JD hit the ring post and the floor.
Dom cut off his deadbeat dad from making the tag. Rey sent
JD to the floor with a rana, then caught Dom with a tornado
DDT. Rey crawled to make the tag to Lee, but before he
could, Big Cass pulled Lee off the apron (that’s the third
time tonight for that spot) before he could make the tag.
Cass dumped Lee over the barricade.
Back in the ring, JD hit Rey with his giant head and got the
pin.
Match Result: JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio defeated Dragon
Lee & Rey Mysterio when JD pinned Rey (10:32).
After the match, Cass went after Rey. Lee tried to make the
save, but Cass punched him out with a side slam. Cass then
hit both Lee and Rey with one big boot to both of their
faces at once.

until Bayley decides it’s over.
— Jaida Parker FaceTimed in a promo with the rest of 946 to
reiterate that nobody is safe.
Next Week on Raw:
Solo Sikoa & The Usos v. The 946
— Paul Heyman was standing in the locker room watching TV,
as we all to do relax. Bronson Reed came in, and Heyman told
him it was going to take him about 20 tsunamis to beat Oba
Femi. Because Oba Femi showed Heyman that Brock Lesnar was
human, and that humbled him. So if Reed doesn’t hit a bunch
of tsunamis, then he’s going to be humbled, too. Heyman
left, and the camera turned to what was on the TV: Oba Femi
powerbombing Lesnar from SummerSlam on repeat.
— The Money in the Bank preshow starts at 4pm Saturday. The
main show startes at 6pm, And they’ll be a post-show after.
Becky Lynch v. Liv Moran in a #1 Contenders’ Match for the
Women’s World Championship
The fight went to the floor early. Lynch caught Morgan with
an elbow, but Morgan responded by sending her into the ring
post. Morgan then tossed Lynch into the ring barricade.
Lynch came up holding her ribs. Back in the ring, Morgan hit
a shotgun dropkick for a near fall.
Morgan laid in a kick on Lynch’s midsection, then grabbed a
chinlock. Morgan wasn’t doing much on offense while she had
the heat. Lynch came back with a series of clotheslines and
a dropkick. Lynch hit an exploder suplex out of the corner,
then got a near fall.
Lynch charged at Morgan in the corner, who lifted her over
the ropes. Morgan caught her with a kick, but Lynch came
back with kicks of her own. Lynch charged into a code
breaker, but Lynch came back with a flying forearm and both
women were down.
During a split-screen break, Morgan hit a tornado DDT for a
near fall. Lynch ducked a charge from Morgan and she fell to
the floor. Becky followed her out and hit a forearm. Morgan
tossed Lynch over the ring announcer’s table.
Lynch almost got counted out. Morgan caught her with a small
package for a near fall. Morgan then hit the Three Amigos.
Morgan hit a step up enziguri for a near fall.
Morgan went to the top for a frog splash, but Lynch cut her
off. Lynch and Morgan exchanged forearms. Lynch superplexed
Morgan, then rolled right into a DDT for a near fall. Lynch
went for a cross-arm breaker, then transitioned into the
Disarmher. Morgan escaped by biting Lynch’s leg, and Morgan
locked in a half-crab. After a fight to get to the ropes,
Lynch caught Morgan with a pin attempt for a near fall.
Morgan caught Lynch with a dropkick off the middle rope for
a near fall.
Lynch booted Morgan down. She went for the Manhandle Slam,
but got distracted by Raquel Rodriguez walking down to the
ring. While Rodriguez distracted the ref, Roxanne Perez came
out of nowhere and attacked Lynch. Morgan hit Lynch with a
sunset bomb for a near fall.
Morgan went for Oblivion, but Lynch countered with the
Manhandle Slam. Lynch went for the pin, but Rodriguez put
Morgan’s foot on the ropes to stop the count.
Lynch took out Rodriguez with a dive. Perez distracted the
referee, while Rodriguez attacked Becky again. Stephanie
Vaquer took care of Perez. The ref (who was Jessika Carr)
caught Rodriguez trying to feed her IC title belt to Morgan,
and she was ejected.
Morgan saw Vaquer and went after her. Becky charged at
Morgan, but Morgan ducked and Becky hit Vaquer by mistake.
Lynch hit Morgan with the Manhandle slam, but Vaquer jumped
in the ring and attacked them both.
Match Result: Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan went to a no-
contest (16:02).
After the match, Stephanie Vaquer called out Adam Pearce and
demanded a triple threat match against both women for
Saturday. Adam Pearce made the match official. So at Money
in the Bank, it’s Vaquer v. Lynch v. Morgan for the World
Women’s Championship.
