Appearing on the Today Show on NBC earlier today to promote
the Matchbox: The Movie, John Cena confirmed that the John
Cena Classic tournament which was announced earlier this
year will be taking place in December.
Reiterating that he will not going to perform physically
again in WWE after his retirement match, Cena dropped the
news that the tournament will be held in December.
“Now this year in December, I’m really excited about
announcing the John Cena Classic. We’re gonna do an event
based off all the memory, all the nostalgia, and the IP and
the core values of the character, which is me,” Cena said.
“Hustle, loyalty, respect, perseverance, virtue, overcoming
the odds, and giving the vote to the people.”
Cena said that the audience is going to decide the champion
that night and it will be a unique live event.
“I don’t even know if it’s gonna work. I’m still taking bold
chances in the WWE space, and I’m proud to be helping the
John Cena Classic,” he concluded.
