The wrestling world was shocked and stunned by the death of
40-year-old Benjamin Satterley (aka PAC) less than 24 hours
after the British star had wrestled for the AEW National
title at the All Out PPV.

Comments poured in from all over the wrestling about
Satterley's passing, and his life.

AEW President Tony Khan wrote “Benjamin Satterley
defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his
many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill,
unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency +
dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world
to pursue. May Ben rest in peace.”

WWE did not issue a statement, but COO Paul “Triple H”
Levesque,  and multiple WWE talent remembered the man known
as Neville in WWE.

Levesque wrote on Twitter: “I had the pleasure of working
with Ben in the early days of WWE NXT. This moment, from NXT
Arrival, marked the beginning of a new era for that brand
and the men and women on it...and Ben was a major force
behind that. He was an extraordinary talent and even kinder
human being. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and
fans across the world.”

TNA Wrestling added:, “We are heartbroken to learn of the
passing of Benjamin Satterley, better known as Pac. We offer
our deepest condolences to his friends, family and
fans.”

New Japan Wrestling issued a statement. “New Japan Pro-
Wrestling is deeply sadden[ed] by the passing of Benjamin
Satterly, known to wrestling fans as PAC. The thoughts and
deepest sympathies of all at NJPW go to Satterly’s family,
friends and fans.”

Many of his AEW colleagues shared stories on social media,
remembering their friend:

Marina Shafir:  “My bastard brother where did you
go?”

Shafir literally got the word of Satterley's death, perhaps
an hour after AEW itself got the news and had to tell a live
crowd at a Warrior Wrestling show the news. Following her
match, she addressed the fans and talked about her friend
Pac, who had just died hours earlier.

Sitting on the top turnbuckle and clearly emotional, Shafir
said she was just holding him just a day before, and said:
“Wrestling drives you to fcking places in your mind.
Y’all just…he was the best. He was the f$cking best. You
know why? Because he knew himself...And I think…that just
took him…he was just so modest about how fascinating he was.
You know, and…I…I don’t know how to be. I don’t know what to
do. He was the light of us.”

Will Ospreay: “The greatest export from our country. Also
the greatest human being. Honoured to have shared the ring
with you so many times. You truly are such a hero to myself
and many others. Forever our BASTARD. RIP Pac”

Kyle Fletcher:  “PAC is one of my favorite wrestlers of
all time. I was lucky enough to meet my hero, work with my
hero, but even more lucky to get to know him. He was a
better man than I ever could have hoped for. I am
heartbroken. I love you, Ben. Rest easy mate.”

Bryce Remsburg:  “To many, he was a bastard. To my kids,
he was Ben – who brought them Kinder Eggs from the UK, who
converted them to Newcastle (United) fans. To me, he was an
incredible friend for 20 years. Watching a Black Arrow from
inside the ring still takes my breath away. The best of
us.”

Sting: "Extremely talented. Nothing he couldn’t do. Loved
and respected by all of us. God bless Pac’s family."

Katsuyori Shibata: “The sudden news of his passing is an
overwhelming shock. We went together to buy groceries in the
rental car he was driving, did laundry at the laundromat,
and talked endlessly about pro wrestling in the car…We used
to tell each other, 'Someday, let’s have a match.' It’s
truly heartbreaking. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Paul Heyman: “Oh no. No no no no no no no. What a
tremendous talent and even finer human being. My most
profound condolences to all who knew him. A truly terrible
loss!”

Kevin Owens: “The best lad… We love you.”

Ilja Dragunov: “Generational, unbelievable, one of a
kind. What a sad, sad day. Rest in peace Pac.”

The Miz: “Just a heartbreaking day. My thoughts and
prayers are with the family and friends of PAC. May he rest
in peace.”

Ric Flair: “I’m shocked to hear about the passing of PAC.
He was a gifted talent with incredible athleticism & a kind
person. My condolences to his family and friends. I’m with
you in mourning this tragic loss. So sad. Rest in peace PAC
Benjamin Satterley!”

Rhea Ripley: “What a tragic day. What an extremely
talented person. Speechless…RIP PAC.”

Becky Lynch: “One of the best in every way
possible.”

Paige: “F*ck man.. this is terrible. For everyone that
kne Ben (pac) would tell you what an incredible human he
was. Truly one of the best. This is heartbreaking.. sending
so much love to his family and everyone else who was lucky
enough to know him personally and to all who got to watch
him perform and witness the greatness that was that man.
Rest in power Ben”

Adam Pearce: “I’m speechless. My heart goes out to the
family, friends, and everyone affected by the passing of
Pac. Ben, you were an incredible performer. I truly enjoyed
every interaction we had…even the ones that sucked. It was a
pleasure to be around your passion, to watch you work, and
to work alongside you. Godspeed, Bastard Pac. Rest well, my
friend.”

Alexa Bliss: “I cannot believe this. RIP PAC”

Enzo Amore: “My best friend has passed on, I am
absolutely in shock. My prayers are with his wife and
family. Ben, I love you. I’m going to miss you Pac, thank
you for being a friend.”

Matt Hardy: “Shocked & stunned about the sudden death of
Pac. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family, friends and
fans. RIP brother”

S. Farrelly (Sheamus) “I can’t believe it. Ben was an
incredible performer and an even better fella. Salt of the
earth, humble, a pleasure to be around and loved by everyone
in the locker room. I first saw him wrestle in 2005 and
couldn’t believe what I was watching. I’d never seen
anything like him. He truly defied gravity. Rest in peace,
Ben. There won’t be another like you. The Bastard PAC”

Nattie: “I am so sad to hear this news. Pac was always
so respectful and kind to me, especially during his time at
NXT when he and TJ were working a lot together. I’ll always
remember how passionate Pac was about wrestling, but
equally, how much respect he showed everyone around him.
Every time TJ was in the ring with him, he wanted to make
Ben proud and be his absolute best. That always stayed with
me and said so much about the kind of person he was. My
heart goes out to Pac’s family, his friends and everyone who
loved him. This is an immeasurable loss. I’m so grateful I
had the chance to know him.”

During last week's NXT, Vic Joseph did an IYKYK tribute to
Pac saying, “EK Prosper trying to rise up, and EK
tonight trying to follow in the footsteps of another former
NXT Champion. A high flyer he looked up to from Newcastle
who once stated, ‘Throw your heart out in front of you, run
ahead and catch it.’”
. Thank you, Vic.

Then, there was Wednesday night. Literally, it was two hours
plus of the most emotional moments of wrestling and love and
passion and excellence I hope we ever have to see for such a
reason again.

Of all the moments of this show, one moment stood out for
me. During the Will Ospreay-Ricochet finish, Ospreay hit a
hidden blade, then stopped before going for a pin and looked
at the top rope and to the sky, he moved Ricochet to the
corner...Ospreay took his time and hit the ultimate tribute
to Pac...a black arrow. He then covered Ricochet for the
pinfall victory. Ospreay emotionally exploded into a moment
of triumph then collapsed into tears, with all those
seconding coming into the ring.

Not sure why this moment got to me so much....maybe because
of how much the black arrow was tied to Pac. Maybe because
you could see how much doing that tribute meant to Ospreay
to be able to do to his fallen friend. Will Ospreay made
clear on Twitter why it did: Got to the arena at 2PM and
was in the ring 'til doors opened practicing. I haven’t
performed the Black Arrow for 8 years.  Something told me on
this night I could make the jump. I threw my heart out in
front of me and Ben caught it.

Ben was watching over you, Will. No doubt.

October is here, and the leaves are turning here in South
Jersey. There may still be a warm, sunny day or two to come,
but schools are open, the NFL season is under way, pumpkin
spice everything is here... Spirit Halloween is open and
Mariah Carey is defrosting; but it's never too soon for
local independent wrestling promotions to think about what
efforts they can undertake to help their communities during
2026's Holiday season.
