I'm literally typing this last night on my phone as I was
getting ready to go to bed...having my younger brother tell
me Fightful had reported that PAC (Benjamin Satterly) had
died. My God, we just watched the man work Andrade Saturday
night and be involved in the main event.

No word on cause of death as I type this in bed.

As I said only weeks ago about Andy Williams, remember to be
extra kind to one another, to everyone in your life. God
knows when they may leave it.

Forever the Bastard...the man that gravity forgot.

AEW will soon have a new broadcasting partner as news
emerged last Monday that Paramount Skydance has reached an
agreement to settle with several State Attorneys General
which will allow Paramount Skydance to purchase Warner
Brothers Discovery.

A trial was set for March 2027 which would have prolonged
the takeover and also result in Paramount paying a $7
million daily fee to Warner Brothers Discovery until the
final signature.

AEW’s media rights agreement with Warner Brothers Discovery
goes through 2027, with an option year for 2028. Tony Khan
has made clear he wanted the Paramount-Warner Brothers
Discovery deal to close. At the Double or Nothing 2026 post-
show press conference: Khan said "I'm very excited about
who the buyer is. It's very, very good for us. I think it's
fantastic to have David Ellison coming in here. He's been a
fantastic leader. I've worked with him in the NFL and
Skydance."
On Bloomberg TV,  Khan was asked whether
Paramount would stick with AEW after the merger: "100%."
. In other 2026 interviews, including Power Players with
Brian Sozzi, Khan stated he is "a lot happier" with a
Paramount deal for WBD/HBO Max because it presents a "huge
opportunity" for AEW to continue premiering PPVs and growing
its audience on the platform.

Last Wednesday night, Khan made his feelings clear yet
again:  “I’ve made it no secret dozens and dozens of
times I’ve gone on the record and said I look forward to a
time when hopefully it will be Paramount and Warner Brothers
together. I think it’ll make AEW stronger. I’ve said time
and time again, and I believe we are very close to that
time.”

Khan also spoke again about Paramount head David Ellison,
who he has worked with through the NFL. The AEW president
said Ellison is a professional wrestling fan and believes he
will be a great leader for Warner Brothers: “What a
fantastic announcement for AEW and our fans to have the
leadership of the great David Ellison coming in. I’ve said
it time and time again, this is somebody who loves
professional wrestling and loves sports. Who I’ve worked
with in the National Football League, whether it’s NFL Films
or now CBS and the great partnership with the NFL. This is a
great TV producer, a great film producer, and somebody who I
think is going to be a great leader for Warner Brothers just
like he is now for Paramount.”

Netflix originally won the war for Warner Brothers
Discovery, which would have likely spelled bad news for AEW
since Netflix has WWE worldwide rights, but Netflix gave up
after repeated rounds of bidding, with Paramount eventually
winning out. It should be noted Paramount also works with
TKO having the exclusive rights for the UFC and Zuffa
Boxing.

Now begins the wait to see what shakes down with the merger.
Dave Meltzer made the point that until that actually
happens, anyone that tells you definitively what will and
won't happen long-term with AEW and Paramount is lying
through their teeth. But expect dozens of troll social
media, YouTube and MymommyboughtmeaPC newzsites to claim
otherwise...daily.

It's late September, officially fall, and the leaves are
turning here in South Jersey. There may still be a warm,
sunny day or two to come, but schools are open, the NFL
season is under way, pumpkin spice everything is here...
Spirit Halloween is open and Mariah Carey is defrosting; but
it's never too soon for local independent wrestling
promotions to think about what efforts they can undertake to
help their communities during 2026's Holiday season.

Given the political environment, more help will be needed
from every private source possible to help the hungry, the
sick, the cold, the homeless, sexual/domestic violence
victims, animal welfare, and too many more.
