Netflix Vice President of Global Live Sports and
Entertainment, Gabe Spitzer, said that the company is
thrilled with the current partnership with WWE and shows
have been hitting every metric that Netflix hoped for.
Appearing on the Sports Media podcast with Richard Deitsch,
Spitzer described Paul Levesque, Lee Fitting, and Nick Khan
as great partners and raved about WWE’s numbers both
domestically and internationally.
“I think the place where we’ve been surprised in a good way
and that will continue to grow is outside of the US,”
Spitzer said. “That’s really where we see the potential to
continue to grow this partnership is, in the US we have Raw
only, outside of the US in most countries around the world,
we’re the home for all of WWE. So that’s Raw, that’s
Smackdown, that’s NXT, and that’s the big Premium Live
Events every month, be it WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, or
SummerSlam.”
He also put over the fact that WWE is willing to work with
them as different countries are added to the WWE deal on
Netflix, with Spitzer mentioning Clash in Italy, returning
to Australia, and going to Mexico.
