AS I SEE IT

ALL IN 2026 was a six-hour all-time classic at Wembley with
47,054 fans attending (as reported by Wrestletix), and Tony
Khan reporting a $6 million gate; featured a definite 2026
Match of The Year with Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega
delivering, without question, one of the greatest
professional wrestling matches I've ever seen.
AEW PPV main events always feature magnificent entrances,
with the entrance for Will Ospreay past entrances especially
so, with past year's Assassin's Creed themed entrance. But
the 2026 entrance was special beyond words, with the Who's
Baba O'Riley playing a montage of Ospreay's career moments
from backyarder to UK indie star to New Japan Junior
Heavyweight superstar...to his early days in AEW. He was
accompanied by his (former?) United Empire mates, then as he
walked to the ring, was flanked by an European football
style honor guard of sorts with Zack Sabre Jr, his first
major UK rivalry all the way to Michael Oku, his last
British wrestling match; Ricochet, his opponent from the New
Japan Best of the Super Juniors, followed AEW rivals Swerve,
Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis former partner in Aussie Open,
wife Alex Windsor, and then finally enemy, then ally, then
enemy again Jon Moxley, giving Ospreay a knowing look, a
smile and stepped away after handing him the UK flag.
The story was put together perfectly to illustrate the real
and storyline passion between the two greatest rivals and
performers of our generation. It was an emotional roller
coaster that concluded with a succession of finishes and
kick outs, including Ospreay kicking out of Omega's One
Winged Angel, Ospreay's hitting the Tiger Driver '91 twice,
finally finishing Omega off with a Hidden Blade.
For most viewers, ALL IN ended shortly afterwards with the
copyright notice. Others on other streaming services were
able to see saw portions of what happened after the match.
They got to see Ospreay helping Omega back to his feet
following their grueling title match. Omega then tried to
pick up the AEW World Championship and present it to
Ospreay, but "struggled" (selling the Tiger Driver). Omega
visibly praised Ospreay, who tosses the belt aside and
embraces Omega. Omega finally picked up the belt, and joins
Ospreay in acknowledging the Wembley Stadium crowd, and
closed out the night by helping The Young Bucks assist Omega
to the back, then raising the AEW World Championship above
his head.
After the success of ALL IN, All Elite Wrestling announced
last Monday it will return to the United Kingdom for AEW
Dynasty on Sunday, February 7, 2027 at M&S Bank Arena in
Liverpool and for AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, February 10,
2027 at the 02 in London. The two events will be historic
for All Elite Wrestling as they mark the first time an AEW
event has ever been held in Liverpool, the first AEW UK PPV
to ever take place outside of London and the first time AEW
Dynamite has ever been held in London.
A reminder that AEW presents AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite from
Akins Ford Arena in Athens, GA this Wednesday, honoring one
of the original members of the AEW roster, Tanea Brooks (aka
Rebel), who was diagnosed with ALS in March 2026. As part of
the event, Rebel is scheduled to make a special appearance
Wednesday evening and fans in attendance will receive a
special limited-edition Rebel trading card sheet from Upper
Deck, while supplies last.
There will be 1FW tapings both before and after the Rebel
Heart edition of Dynamite, acting as an official crossover
between the two shows.
A donation will be made from AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite to
benefit I AM ALS, the leading community movement dedicated
to ending ALS by empowering patients and caregivers to
secure billions in federal funding, improve care, treatment
access, and drive research, and Team Gleason, an
organization founded by former New Orleans Saints player
Steve Gleason that provides adventure, technology, equipment
and care services to people living with ALS and countless
others through advocacy, research, support and the goal of
ultimately bringing an end to the disease.
It's September...and as you read this, the first leaves are
turning here in South Jersey. There will still be hot days
to come, but schools are open everywhere, the NFL season
started this weekend, pumpkin spice everything is
appearing...and Spirit Halloween just opened; but it's never
too soon for local independent wrestling promotions to think
about what efforts they can undertake to help their
communities during 2026's Holiday season. Given the
political environment, more help will be needed from every
private source possible to help the hungry, the sick, the
cold, the homeless, sexual/domestic violence victims, animal
welfare, and too many more.
