AEW Dynamite came to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center
in Allen, Texas, on TBS and HBO Max for the first Dynamite
in the aftermath of AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium!
AEW World Champion Will Ospreay had the chance to address
the fans for the first time since winning the title on
Sunday, but that led to a massive Dynamite main event!
After Ospreay thanked the fans and expressed his emotions
after the biggest night of his life, he was interrupted by
Ricochet and The Demand and Gabe Kidd, which turned into
United Empire coming out to save Ospreay from a 5-on-1
beatdown. In the main event, Ospreay, Andrade El Ídolo and
United Empire came away victorious, but in the post-match
chaos, the Death Riders arrived. Moxley and Ospreay had a
few tense but civil moments together in the ring until we
learned Moxley will challenge Ospreay for the AEW World
Title on Saturday, September 26 at AEW All Out in Chicago!
Austin Creed and Kofi made their Dynamite debut with Swerve
Strickland in a successful defense of the AEW World Trios
Titles against The Rascalz. We learned the AEW World Tag
Team Titles will be on the line at All Out after the
champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage put out the
challenge to the Young Bucks and FTR for a match that will
include chairs, tables and ladders!
Plus, AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné had an
unexpected guest during her championship celebration when
Thekla decided to take the festivities in from the crowd
while making it clear she wants her AEW Women’s World
Championship back!
The first of two nights in Allen gave us a jam-packed
edition of Dynamite! Here’s everything that went down!
All In: London Recap
Before we jumped into the action, we looked back on one of
the greatest nights in the history of AEW and professional
wrestling, All In: London! If you haven’t seen it, what are
you waiting for?
AEW World Champion Will Ospreay Interrupted by The Demand
and The Dogs
There was no better way to open the first Dynamite after All
In: London than with the new AEW World Champion, Will
Ospreay! Ospreay seemed to be floating as he came to the
ring with a smile as big as Wembley Stadium.
Ospreay admitted he might look a little rough, but the crowd
immediately interrupted him with a “You Deserve It” chant
before chanting his name for an extended time, before
admitting he’s been celebrating for days and almost missed
the plane. He woke up here in Texas and can’t put the words
to what happened to him on Sunday. So he just wants to say
thank you, no matter if you’ve been with him from the
beginning or since he got to AEW.
But first, he needs to address Kenny Omega. They pushed each
other to the limit, and while Ospreay wanted to stay down at
times, he had to keep fighting for his dream. Ospreay said
Omega has been the best wrestler of the last 10 years, and
he still is, but it only takes one day to become AEW World
Champion. Ospreay said he’s satisfied with being 2-2 against
Omega since he just wanted to be seen as his equal. But if
Omega isn’t satisfied with that, he can name the time and
place.
Ospreay liked how the belt felt and ran down the names of
those who held the AEW World Title before him. Those were
his heroes. He watched them. But now he’s amongst them.
“All my idols are now my rivals.”
“I am the standard now. I am the Billy GOAT. I am the best
in the world. I am your AEW World Champion! And if you wanna
take this from me, you’re gonna need to walk through the
same fire that I went through, and I’ll see you at the end
of the line, bruv.”
Ospreay gave a big shoutout to United Empire for being with
him on Sunday because they were there with him for years in
Japan. Ospreay knows there’s a United Empire in Japan, but
he wants to create some opportunities here in AEW, so he’s
going to start looking and bring United Empire to AEW.
The Demand interrupted Ospreay from the stage. Ricochet said
he isn’t here to rain on Ospreay’s parade, but they will
forever be tied together. Even Ricochet has to acknowledge
how special Ospreay vs. Omega was on Sunday. Ricochet said
the people don’t understand, but Ospreay knows that he
wouldn’t be in the main event of All In without Ricochet. He
said Ospreay would admit it. So Ricochet demands the first
opportunity to take the title from around his waist.
Gabe Kidd interrupted and said Ospreay took his chance to
become the first British IWGP Heavyweight Champion and now
he’s done the same thing with the AEW World Championship.
But that’s nothing compared to what Kidd will take from
Ospreay and his family. Ricochet said that’s all well and
good, but as long as it’s acknowledged that Ricochet gets
the first shot. Kidd said he doesn’t want to take his title
yet; he wants to take his life. This is still a numbers
game, and it’s 5-on-1! The Demand, Kidd and Clark Connors
started walking to the ring, but stopped when Callum Newman,
Henare and Francisco Akira hit the ring with chairs to back
up Ospreay. Ospreay said they can fight right now in street
clothes or they can both go get changed and meet back out
here for a main event tag team match!
AEW World Trios Championship Match: Swerve Strickland & The
New Level (Austin Creed and Kofi) (c) def. The Rascalz
(Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed and Zachary Wentz)
Before this championship defense, we took a look back at the
amazing, shocking and successful AEW debut of Austin Creed
and Kofi, The New Level, at All In: London when they won the
Trios Roulette Royale as the wild card team with Swerve
Strickland to become AEW World Trios Champions! The New
Level chants rang out during the first Dynamite entrance for
Creed and Kofi!
Swerve and Reed started our opening contest with Swerve
shutting Reed down at every turn before Xavier tagged in for
the first time. Swerve brought in Creed, who was amped to
get in the match. Xavier and Creed exchanged a series of pin
attempts until Creed took Xavier down with a leg sweep and a
senton. The crowd chanted for Kofi and got what they wanted
when he tagged in for the first time! Kofi and Creed pulled
out some unseen double-team offense on Xavier and then
Wentz. Wentz came back to hit a defensive tornillo on Kofi
so he could make the tag to Reed, as Kofi tagged Creed. Reed
and Xavier double-teamed Creed with lightning-quick offense!
They did more of the same to Swerve and worked him into
their corner where Reed hit a lungblower and held Swerve
down for Xavier to hit a senton from the top. The Rascalz
hit their patented flipping triple dropkick to send Swerve
to the floor. The Rascalz called for triple dives, so Kofi
and Creed pulled Reed to the floor. Wentz and Xavier came
out to help Reed, so Creed and Swerve charged them and got
sent over with a backdrop, only to bounce off and come back
with DDTs! Kofi went to the top rope and took a plunge onto
all The Rascalz!
The Rascalz turned things around when Reed ran Creed into
the corner and isolated him away from Kofi and Swerve.
Finally, Creed came back with a powerbomb out of nowhere to
take Wentz down and made the tag to Kofi! He leaped from the
top rope onto Reed and continued to show off his hops with
repeated attacks to keep Reed down. Kofi hit the Boom Drop
on Reed and sent him to the ropes for a spinning DDT from
Creed! Swerve tagged back in and rolled Reed into a delayed
vertical suplex, but Wentz came in to break up the pin.
Wentz and Swerve exchanged shots in the middle until Wentz
came off the ropes right into a Flatliner from Swerve!
Swerve called for a House Call, but Xavier cut him off with
a hurricanrana, who nearly won the match with a surprise pin
attempt. Kofi came in to help, but got bounced off the ropes
by Reed into a neckbreaker from Wentz. Creed followed in
only to eat triple thrust kicks! Creed fought all three
Rascalz out of the corner until Reed hit him with a Stundog
Millionaire and Xavier kicked him into a German suplex by
Wentz! Wentz called for the end, and Xavier pushed him into
Hot Fire Flame! Kofi broke up the pin to keep their young
title reign alive! Kofi hit a split-legged dropkick to take
out Reed and Wentz. Swerve tagged Kofi in, but Xavier met
him on the top rope with a rising kick. Xavier dove to the
floor, but Kofi caught him and hit an SOS! Wentz took out
Kofi with a tornillo, but Creed was there to follow with a
pair of dives to take out Wentz and Xavier. He got back on
the apron, but didn’t see Reed sky over the top rope to grab
him for a diving cutter! Reed took Swerve over with a
hurricanrana on his way down! What was that?!?! Reed showed
no fear of the champs and the crowd chanted “Holy Shit!”
Reed lifted Kofi on his shoulders, but lost control as Kofi
slipped behind him as Xavier came off the top to jump over
both of them. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Reed in the
corner, but Xavier immediately took Kofi down with a nasty
rolling kick! Xavier did a handspring off the ropes, but
because he had his back turned, he never saw Swerve take him
out with a House Call in midair! Swerve hopped to the apron
and hit a PK on Wentz. Back in the ring, Creed put Xavier on
his shoulder, so Kofi could come down from the top to stomp
Xavier in the back! Swerve hit another House Call on Xavier
and Kofi pinned Xavier for their first successful defense of
the AEW World Trios Championship!
As The New Level and Swerve celebrated going up the ramp,
the Young Bucks made their way out and had a staredown and
some words for Kofi and Creed before continuing to the ring.
Cage and Cope Challenge FTR and the Young Bucks at All Out!
Matt and Nick Jackson soaked in some appreciation from the
crowd before Matt spoke about losing their AEW World Tag
Team Championship match to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage
at All In. He didn’t want to come out and talk about getting
screwed because, quite frankly, the Bucks have done worse to
people in AEW. But he was curious that for such a big,
generational match, Cope and Cage had to beat them THAT way?
Do they feel good about how they beat the Bucks? Are they
satisfied with how they did it? Matt called them out and
said they should tell them to their face!
Instead, FTR and Stoke came out, and Stoke had a mic. Stoke
couldn’t believe what he was hearing, and there are only two
people who matter in this ring: Dax Harwood and Cash
Wheeler. Is he really hearing the Bucks beg for another
title shot? They failed at Revolution, they blew it at
Wembley, and now they want to fail for a third time? They
disgust Stoke.
Harwood took the mic and immediately got booed, which only
got worse when he insulted the Texas crowd. Harwood said
they had their chance and they lost again. FTR has beaten
the Bucks. They’ve beaten Cope and Cage, so now it’s time
for the Bucks to step back so FTR can become the first-ever
four-time AEW World Tag Team Champions. Nick reminded FTR
that the Bucks also beat them, but at least the Bucks never
said “I quit” into the microphone.
Cage and Cope made their way out to the top of the ramp.
Cage said it’s not about how you won, but who won, as he
took off the protective shield on his arm. Cope said he has
to be the voice of reason, and he’s not happy with how they
won at Wembley, but there’s a way to fix it. At All Out,
they can have a three-way match.
“And that match may just involve chairs. That match may just
involve tables. And that match will damn sure have ladders!”
Andrade to join Ospreay and United Empire in the Main Event
Lexy Nair was backstage with AEW World Champion Will Ospreay
and, as she called it, “his United Empire.” Callum Newman
asked why she called it his United Empire. Ospreay said he
knew this would happen and while the rest of UE can call him
leader, Ospreay said he’s his little brother, and he doesn’t
need permission to expand the group because he started it.
There’s no heat, so they should move on. Nair asked if
they'd found a fifth member of their team for the main
event. Ospreay said no, but Newman said not to worry because
he knows a guy who’s been in AEW and in United Empire for a
minute now, so don’t worry about it. Ospreay said he thought
everyone was standing there, but Newman said trust him.
Henare knocked on the door behind them, and Andrade El Ídolo
walked out!
“How you know?”
Andrade exchanged pleasantries with the rest of the group,
as he’s part of United Empire in Japan, and then offered
congrats to Ospreay, who offered the same back to Andrade
for winning the Casino Gauntlet. Ospreay rallied the group
and stormed off to prepare for the main event!
TNT Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) def. Don Callis
Family's Mark Davis
Allin was out first and skateboarded down the ramp, much
like he did to enter the Casino Gauntlet at All In, Davis
came out of nowhere to clobber Allin at the bottom of the
ramp instead of making a normal entrance! The crowd booed
the attack, and we heard the voice of Don Callis on
commentary. Davis slammed Allin on the apron and trapped him
in the ring skirt to brutalize him with chops! The bell
still hadn’t rung, as Davis dragged Allin on the floor and
flung him into the barricade. Davis ran Allin to the
timekeeper’s area and threw him clear over the barricade for
a dangerous crash landing!
Davis brought Allin into the crowd for more punishment, as
the match still hadn’t officially begun! Davis tried to
powerbomb Allin on the concrete floor, so Allin escaped with
a headbutt and started to work his way up the stairs. He
pulled Davis’ arm through the rail to smash him into it and
let go so he could continue to scale the stairs to the top
of the floor entrance in the crowd. Allin came down on Davis
with a Coffin Drop! The crowd chanted “Holy shit!” He just
did the same things days ago up the stage truss at All In!
Allin clotheslined Davis back over the barricade into the
ringside area and then grabbed his skateboard. He cracked
Davis with the skateboard, so Davis came right back with a
vicious elbow strike to the side of Allin’s head! Davis
tried to pull Allin up to the apron, but Allin pulled Davis
down into the ring skirt. Davis shook off some strikes from
Allin and shoved him into the bottom of the commentary desk!
Davis threw Allin in the ring, and the match finally began!
Davis choked Allin with his boot in the corner and then
tossed Allin with reckless abandon into the opposite corner.
Davis was dominating Allin, as he tossed him across the ring
again and followed with a release German suplex. Allin threw
some weak up-kicks as he tried to pull himself up, but Davis
cut that off with three mean chops and then a release
vertical suplex from the apron back in the ring. Davis came
down on Allin with a brutal elbow strike and covered him,
but Allin kicked out. The crowd tried to get Allin back into
it, but Davis absolutely crushed him with a clothesline.
Once again, Allin kicked out, although he was in dire
straits!
Allin took more and more punishment until he found an
opening in the corner and tied Davis’ right hand to the tag
rope! Allin threw a barrage of uninterrupted strikes and a
dropkick as he begged Davis to come back at him, which Davis
did with an elbow that knocked Allin to the mat. Davis
picked Allin up with one hand and powerbombed him while
still tied to the corner! Davis is a monster! Davis crushed
Allin with a running forearm in the corner, but Allin kicked
out again, and the chants for him got louder! Allin threw
wild strikes, but Davis knocked him into the ropes and
rebounded him for a clothesline, only for Allin to duck it
and try for a Coffin Drop, which Davis caught! He rolled
Allin down in a choke, but Allin flipped over him to get a
near-fall.
Davis missed an enziugiri, so Allin tried a Code Red, which
Davis countered with a back bodydrop that folded Allin in
half. Davis picked him back up, yet somehow Allin flipped
over him for a Code Red! Allin covered, but Davis kicked
out, and both men remained down while the crowd chanted for
Darby! Davis went to the floor, so Allin followed out with a
torpedo dive to the back of Davis’ head! Allin went to the
top rope and came down with a dropkick to Davis on the
floor! That hurt both men! The referee counted both men down
on the outside until they both got back to nine. However,
Davis rolled in and stayed down, while Allin instead scaled
the ropes and came down with a Coffin Drop on Davis’ back!
Allin went back up top and hit another to Davis’ chest! He
covered Davis and got the pinfall victory!
Allin didn’t even have a chance to get off the mat before
Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta hit the ring to attack Allin.
Steven Borden came in to save Allin by taking out RPG Vice,
punctuated by a dropkick from the heavens on Beretta! Davis
got back on the apron, so Borden told him to come in. Davis
slowly started to enter, but a returning Josh Alexander
attacked Borden from behind! Davis and Alexander put the
boots to Borden until Allin came back in to defend him, but
Alexander stopped that with a chop block. Alexander put
Allin in an ankle lock while Davis spiked Borden with Close
Your Eyes and Count to Three! The Callis Family posed over
the fallen Allin and Borden.
MJF Promises Payback on AEW World Champion Will Ospreay
After taking a look at how Andrade El Ídolo won the Casino
Gauntlet match, we heard comments from MJF after the match
on Sunday. He said his knee was killing him. He lost a match
he wasn’t supposed to be in. He entered a Casino Gauntlet
match at Wembley Stadium because he had to prove to everyone
what he already knows. He had to win the contract and
wrestle the “fake champion” to prove that he’s the
undisputed one, the one true champion. He’s in this spot
because of one name and one name only: Will Ospreay. MJF
repeated the name with a few more expletives thrown in as he
grew increasingly loud and angry. MJF said if anyone else
got screwed the way he did at Beach Break against Kenny
Omega in the most important professional wrestling
television matchup of all time when Ospreay blatantly got
involved, the match would have been thrown out. But not MJF,
because no one likes him. He knows why. It’s because MJF is
a cold dose of reality no one wants to deal with. When you
think of MJF, you have to think of all your favorites
growing up and know he’s better than all of them. He said
there is no star in this company more important than MJF,
including Ospreay. He promised Ospreay that payback is
coming and payback is a bitch. And no one will see it
coming. It could happen anywhere. By the time MJF hands off
some payback, you’ll be begging for it.
Divine Dominion's Megan Bayne def. AEW Women's World Tag
Team Champion Alex Windsor of The Brawling Birds
Bayne had Lena Kross with her while Windsor had the other
half of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, Jamie
Hayter, in her corner to fully represent The Brawling Birds.
Bayne used her power to take Windsor down with repeated
shoulder tackles followed by shoulder thrusts to the gut in
the corner. Bayne chopped Windsor down the mat and picked
her up to continue the punishment. Windsor turned things
around with strikes of her own and tried to whip Bayne to
the ropes, but Bayne stopped her,r so Windsor headbutted
her. Bayne came back to drop Windsor with another shoulder
tackle, but missed a charge in the corner, and Windsor took
advantage with a barrage of strikes. Bayne intercepted
Windsor off the ropes with a fallaway slam. Bayne charged at
Windsor near the ropes, but was sent to the floor on a low
bridge. Windsor ran down the apron with a cannonball and
took Bayne out on the outside!
Back in the ring, the two continued to slug it out, with
Windsor finding a flurry of energy to unload on Bayne in the
ropes before connecting on a dropkick followed by a DDT!
Bayne kicked out of the pin attempt, so Windsor stayed on
her with a boot out of the corner and a second-rope
clothesline for a two-count. Bayne and Windsor slugged it
out again until Bayne hit a pair of German suplexes and a
diving lariat to get a near-fall. Bayne picked up Windsor
for a Falcon Arrow, but Windsor rolled into an inside cradle
for a near-fall! Windsor kicked Bayne to the mat and then in
the face. She tried to pick up Bayne, but Bayne turned the
table and hit a Falcon Arrow! Windsor kicked out at two!
Bayne charged at Windsor right into a Blue Thunder Bomb!
Bayne kicked out!
Windsor and Bayne traded forearms on the apron until Bayne
booted Windsor to the floor. Bayne tried to kick Windsor, so
Windsor caught the leg and sent Bayne face-first onto the
unforgiving apron! Windsor charged at Bayne, but Bayne was
ready with a clothesline, and both women were down! Kross
grabbed one of the titles, so Hayter came over to stop her
,and they brawled around ringside. The referee was
distracted by Kross and Hayter, so he didn’t see Bayne hit
Windsor in the head with one of the title belts! She threw
Windsor back in and stuck her with a Mega Bomb to get the
pinfall victory!
Jericho Gets Into a Fight with Nick Wayne
Lexy Nair was backstage with Jericho to ask about coming up
short at All In in the Casino Gauntlet. He said he didn’t
win, but he didn’t lose either because Nick Wayne got
pinned. Wayne showed up and got in Jericho’s face. He said
that at 21 years old with 10 years of experience, he stood
in Wembley Stadium and owned the ring. He was the one who
took Jericho out of the match. So what does that say for
Jericho? Jericho said he had 15 years of experience before
Wayne was born, but Wayne is one of the best 21-year-old
wrestlers he’s ever seen and better than Jericho at 21. But
he’s still only 21, so he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know;
Wayne asked what he didn’t know, so Jericho made fun of his
puka shell necklace, and Wayne responded with a slap across
the face! They started brawling, and Jericho threw Wayne
into the loading dock door, so Wayne responded with a low
blow and pushed Jericho to the ground.
Thekla Brings Her Toxicity to Mercedes Moné’s Championship
Celebration
With the ring adorned in flowers, balloons and images of
Moné’s victory, Moné said she hasn’t stopped smiling since
All In and thanked the fans. She needed to be here so the
women’s revolution could be globalized. And now she’s
standing here as the new AEW Women’s World Champion! She
took a bet on herself, and this is what happens when you
stop asking permission to be great. She traveled around the
world winning championship after championship, and now has
done something no woman or man has ever done: win a world
championship in four major companies. The crowd broke out in
a huge “C-E-O” chant. But to get to all this, she had to
leave one thing behind, and that was Willow Nightingale. At
All In, Moné said she showed the world who Willow truly is:
a self-centered, narcissistic, egomaniac bitch!
Moné chastised the crowd for chanting for Willow because of
what she did to Moné’s face, which was heavily bruised under
both eyes due to a broken nose. Moné thought Nightingale was
stopping her from destiny, when in reality, Nightingale was
pushing her towards it, so she thanked Willow.
“Thank you…because look who’s smiling now!”
Moné said she did everything she said she was going to do.
She took the title and Willow’s “stupid smile,” and now
everyone is standing in the kingdom of The C.E.O.
This is her moment, but what she wants for this division
doesn’t even exist yet. Now that she holds this title, it
will. Moné raised a glass to toast herself only to be
interrupted by Thekla from the crowd, who was holding a
drink of her own. Thekla said that speech was great and
she’s here to celebrate, not interrupt! She even brought her
own tequila! Thekla said she really likes Moné because she’s
legendary and iconic, but for all the accolades, she’s never
been toxic! Thekla thanked Moné for what she did to Willow
because she deserved to be humiliated. Thekla noticed Moné
likes to swing the title between her legs.
“But just so you know, nobody swings it bigger than Thekla!”
Thekla also heard that while she’s been gone, Moné has been
calling people “dumb bitch.”
“Now if there’s one thing I hate more than a dumb bitch,
it’s a dumb bitch calling other people dumb bitch, ya dumb
bitch! You may be the C.E.O., but I don’t work for you! So
here’s to our new AEW Women’s World Champion! Just let me
know when you’re ready to give me my title back!”
TBS Champion Persephone & Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Lay Out
Their Partnership
Baker said she didn’t come back after two years for a
gamble. She came back for a guarantee. She said the new TBS
Champion has a killer instinct that can’t be taught and they
are a perfect duo. Britt has already gone where the majority
of the division will never go: championships, making history
in main events, college and so much more.
“But Perse here, she’s gonna take it somewhere it’s never
been before.”
Persephone said Baker laid the foundation and she is the
future. They didn’t need each other, but together, they will
be eternal, and they have no Achilles heel. Not only did she
make Maya’s world stop spinning, but she also did everyone a
favor and brought back The Doctor. Like the fighting
champion she’s always been, on Collision, she’ll give Vert
Vixen a chance at her new TBS Title.
AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley
def. AR Fox
Moxley tried to ground Fox in the early going, so Fox tried
to stay a step ahead of Mox by escaping him on the mat and
striking quickly. He staggered Mox with an enziguri and sent
him to the floor. Fox kicked Mox from the apron and ran up
the turnbuckle connectors for a moonsault to the floor! Fox
threw Mox back in and tried a 450 splash, but Mox moved so
Fox rolled through only to eat a shotgun dropkick from
Moxley!
Moxley continue the assault out of the ring and back in,
where he mounted Fox in the corner for punches. Moxley
followed with clotheslines until Fox got a boot up and
rolled Moxley out of the corner into a cutter! Fox tried to
shake off the pain and take Moxley down with a clothesline,
to no avail. Fox avoided Moxley’s lariat and kicked him down
to his knees before a short-range cutter put Moxley back
down. Fox went for a diving senton, but Mox got his knees up
and dropped Fox with a King Kong lariat. Fox reversed Moxley
into a spinning suplex and quickly went up top for a 450
splash that connected! Moxley kicked out in time!
Fox tried to pull Moxley up into a cutter, but Mox was ready
for it and pulled Fox into a choke. He spun Fox around for a
Death Rider and got the three count! Moxley is now AEW’s
all-time win leader!
Don Callis Puts Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight Together on
Collision!
Lexy Nair was backstage with Don Callis, “The Protostar”
Kyle Fletcher and “The Jet” Kevin Knight, both of whom lost
their respective championships at All In. Nair called it a
tough night, so Knight cut her off and said she’s not going
to demean him on national television. Did she not see Sting
and his whole family get involved?
“Meanwhile, this flamingo over here had a whole other Family
member in the match and still lost!”
Fletcher didn’t take kindly to that and said at least his
title was still in the Family, while Knight lost to Darby
Allin. Callis tried to calm things down and said that while
they had individual setbacks, they were playing the long
game. Callis said his plan was followed by one member of the
Family, and he still has his title. Fletcher didn’t want to
hear about the new AEW International Champion “The
Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada, but Callis had a new plan for
cohesion. He’s going to have Fletcher and Knight tag up to
face Juice Robinson and Ace Austin of Bang Bang Gang on
Collision! Fletcher and Knight protested, with Fletcher
saying he didn’t want to team with Knight.
Okada showed up and said, “Family, Kyle. Family!” He laughed
and walked away with Callis, while Fletcher was left with
Knight.
10-Man Tag Team Match: AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, AEW
National Champion Andrade El Ídolo & United Empire (Henare,
Francesco Akira and Callum Newman) def. The Dogs (Gabe Kidd
and Clark Connors) & The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona and
Bishop Kaun)
It looked like Ospreay and Ricochet would start things off,
but Ricochet didn’t give the fans what they wanted and
tagged in Liona. Ospreay decided to tag in Henare. Liona and
Henare exchanged strikes for what seemed like forever until
Henare uncorked multiple headbutts to the chest. Henare came
off the ropes, but Liona recovered to crush Henare with a
clothesline. Kaun tagged in and he and Liona double-teamed
Henare with a basket slam. They followed with a pair of
sentons, but Henare kicked out at two. Connors tagged in and
ran Henare’s head into the turnbuckle twice, which was a
dumb idea, as Henare ran his own head into the buckle
several times! Henare came out of the corner with a shoulder
block and tagged Akira, but the match quickly devolved into
chaos with United Empire clearing the ring and apron to get
a 5-on-1 advantage on Connors! Connors ate impactful offense
from everyone until Ospreay dropped Akira onto Connors from
his shoulders. Akira covered, but Kidd got in to break up
the pin.
Everyone spilled to the floor except Andrade, who flew over
with a springboard tornillo to take out The Demand! Andrade
went to take a selfie with an admirer, but called over the
rest of United Empire to join! The Demand and The Dogs
quickly attacked to stop the fun! Ricochet stopped Akira on
the turnbuckles and powerbombed him onto UE on the floor!
That made Akira the isolated target for the next few
minutes, and he was punished until a desperation leaping
cutter from the apron to the ring on Connors gave him a
glimmer of hope!
Newman tagged in and cleared out Connors, followed by Kaun
with high kicks. Kaun came back and knocked Newman into the
corner. However, Newman’s amazing speed allowed him to come
right back at Kaun. Kaun answered with a shot of his own, so
Newman went back to the ropes and dropped Kaun with a high
boot. Newman tagged Henare, who took advantage of a triple-
team to drop Kaun with a spinning Samoan Drop followed by a
senton splash! Henare covered, but Kidd came in to break it
up. Andrade grabbed Kidd and dropped a hammer elbow on him,
only for Kidd to come right back with a lariat. Kidd went
after Henare, who clotheslined him to the floor. Henare got
trapped in the wrong corner and was overwhelmed by The
Demand, with Liona throwing Henare into a cutter from Kaun!
Ricochet hit a springboard splash and covered, but Akira was
there to break it up. He stayed on Ricochet until he was
surrounded by Kaun and Liona. He tried to throw every chop
he could on both men, and the crowd loved his efforts! Kaun
and Liona never moved, and they snatched up Akira, but he
escaped and dove to the floor onto Kidd! Akira celebrated
only to get sandwiched by Liona and Kaun. Newman came over
the top to take out Liona and Kaun! Back in the ring, Henare
kicked Ricochet away and tagged Ospreay!
Ospreay and Ricochet renewed the long-term hostilities by
trading strikes in the middle of the ring! Ospreay and
Ricochet each had their own flurry until Ospreay took
Ricochet down with a corkscrew kick and covered him for a
near-fall. Ospreay waited on the ropes for a springboard, so
Ricochet ducked underneath and came back with a handspring
elbow. Connors tagged in and powerslammed Ospreay. He tried
to get a head of steam, but Ospreay cut him off with a kick.
Kidd laid out Ospreay with a big elbow. Kaun dropped Andrade
with a clothesline. Henare came in and headbutted Kaun.
Henare and Liona exchanged headbutts until Henare used a
leaping headbutt to send Liona to the floor. Ricochet came
off the top with a springboard clothesline to Henare! Akira
charged at Ricochet, who sent him to the apron. Akira
changed targets and came off the turnbuckle connectors with
a moonsault to Liona and Kaun on the floor!
Back in the ring, Newman escaped Ricochet’s grasp and
leveled him with a lariat. Connors cut Newman down with a
spear! He tried to do the same to Ospreay, but Andrade
stopped Connors cold with Dia De Los Muertos! Ospreay
finished Connors with the Hidden Blade to get the pinfall
victory for his team!
United Empire celebrated in the ring, and Andrade showed
Ospreay his guaranteed AEW World Title shot contract as they
shook hands. Kidd pulled Andrade to the floor to brawl
before they meet on Collision! The two teams brawled on the
floor with security trying to keep them apart! Kidd sent
Andrade over the commentary desk, but Ospreay came right
after Kidd! Kidd threw Ospreay in the ring, but Ospreay came
back with a hook kick! Ospreay started to hook up Kidd for a
Tiger Driver, so Kidd dropped down and hit Ospreay low! Kidd
brought a chair in the ring, but the music of the Death
Riders played, and they came through the crowd!
They surrounded the ring as Kidd started to get ready to use
the chair, but Moxley dove in and took it away! He threw the
chair down and tried to reason with Kidd, who wasn’t having
it. Kidd picked up the chair and went to swing at Ospreay,
but Moxley stepped in his way. Kidd paused long enough for
Andrade to tackle him out of the ring! They brawled into the
crowd!
Moxley stood behind Ospreay as the AEW World Champion
struggled to his feet. Moxley picked up the AEW World Title
and put it on Ospreay’s shoulder. He grabbed Ospreay’s head,
and they both looked up to see that Ospreay vs. Moxley for
the AEW World Title will happen on Saturday, September 26 at
All Out! Moxley looked stunned, and Ospreay was guarded.
Moxley looked at the belt and slowly backed away from
Ospreay before leaving the ring as Dynamite came to a close!
