Stephanie Vaquer Called Out Liv Morgan
Stephanie Vaquer called out Liv Morgan and told her to bring
her title. Liv Morgan and the women of Judgment Day came out
to respond. From the aisle way, Morgan addressed Becky
Lynch’s accusation that Liv holding the title cheapens it
for the women who held it before her, and said she doesn’t
care if it does, because she’s only a champion for herself.
As long as Morgan is in WWE, Vaquer will never be WWE
Women’s champion again, because Liv is on her way to being
the longest reigning of all time.
Vaquer dared Morgan to get in the ring with her, and she did
with her partners in Judgment Day. Initially, 3-on-1 didn’t
do the Judgment Day any good. Vaquer dumped Raquel Rodriguez
and Roxanne Perez to the floor and got some shots in on Liv
before the numbers overwhelmed her.
Becky Lynch ran in for the save and pulled Morgan out of the
ring. Lynch and Vaquer cleared the ring of the Judgment Day,
then got in each other’s faces because Vaquer caught a stray
elbow from Lynch. Morgan pulled Lynch out of the ring and
sent her into the ring post. Morgan hit Vaquer with a
Codebreaker, then Perez hit her with the Pop Rocks. The
women of the Judgment Day stood tall to end the segment.
— The Usos were celebrating bringing Solo Sikoa back into
the fold. Solo doesn’t look happy about any of this. They
ran across LA Knight, who also looked unhappy about this
development.
Je’Von Evans v. JD Mcdonagh (w/ Dominik Mysterio)
This impromptu match started during the commercial break
because Evans was calling out Big Cass and Mysterio was
complaining about not being in the tournament to job to
Roman Reigns. That was seriously the explanation Cole gave
and I have no idea how those two things led to this match.
Evans injured his ankle when he did his dive into the
timekeeper’s area. McDonagh worked on Evan’s ankle through a
split-screen commercial break.
After the break, Evans connected with the Red Dot and a kick
to the back of the neck. Evans hit a springboard clothesline
for a near fall. McDonagh avoided the OG Cutter and hit a
brainbuster for a near fall. McDonagh climbed the ropes for
a moonsault, but Evans cut him off, climb up with him to
tease something crazy, but McDonagh escaped.
McDonagh went for the moonsault again, but Evans avoided it,
then bounded off the top to hit the OG Cutter and got the
pinfall.
Match Result: Je’Von Evans pinned JD McDonagh (9:16).
After the match, Big Cass punked Evans out for the third
week in a row. Cass left, and Evans got on the house mic and
called Cass back for more. Evans hit a dive on Cass, but
Mysterio sent Evans into the ring post and left. Cass tossed
Evans into the barricade a couple of times. Back in the
ring, Big Cass hit Evans with a big boot.
So this time, Cass left Evans laying TWICE.
— Next week, Raw from Ottawa starts at 6pm EST.
— On AAA this past Saturday, La Parka defeated Psycho Clown
to advance in the tournament to lose to Roman Reigns in
Mexico City. La Parka v. Penta is the first semi-final match
in the tournament.
Rey Fenix v. El Fiscal in a #1 Contender’s Tournament First
Round Match
Rey Fenix is also a world champion, but it’s an AAA belt for
cruiserweights so it doesn’t matter as much as Roman’s belt,
obviously.
Fenix hit a springboard cutter for a near fall. Fiscal
caught Fenix up on the ropes and teased superplexing Fenix
to the floor, but Fenix head butted his way free. Fenix ran
along the top rope and punted Fiscal in the head, then hit a
double jump crossbody to the floor.
After a break, Fiscal pressed Fenix and dropped him throat
first on the top rope. Fiscal hit a discus lariat for a near
fall. Fenix hit an enziguri, then followed up with a
springboard moonsault for a near fall. Fiscal teased a
tombstone (which is banned in Mexico but legal in WWE), but
Fenix countered with a cradle for a near fall.
Fenix pulled Fiscal out of the corner with the Mexican
Muscle Buster and got the pinfall.
Match Result: Rey Fenix pinned El Fiscal to advance to the
semi-finals (9:04).
— Cathy Kelley interviewed Stephanie Vaquer about her return
match next week against Roxanne Perez, the woman who “took
her out” after WrestleMania. Becky Lynch interrupted to
chastise Vaquer.
— Lyra Valkyria is weird now. She did a pre-taped interview
and said she can do everything that Sol Ruca does, but she
doesn’t because she’s smart. Flying around just because you
can isn’t smart, and tonight Valkyria will beat her on the
way to winning her Intercontinental title back.
Sol Ruca v. Lyra Valkyria
This is not officially a #1 Contenders match for the Women’s
Intercontinental Title, but the winner probably gets the
next shot.
They did some mat work to start, exchanging headlocks and
counters. Valkyria focused on Ruca’s arm with a hammerlock
and an armbar. Ruca avoided a charge in the corner by
backflipping over Valkyria, then hitting a shotgun dropkick.
The fight went to the floor, and Ruca hit the moonsault off
the middle turnbuckle to the floor.
Back in the ring, Ruca tried for another springboard, but
Lyra kicked the ropes out from under her and Ruca crashed to
the mat.
After a commercial, Lyra snapped Ruca’s neck on the top
rope. Lyra went to the top and dove into a knee from Ruca.
Ruca dumped Valkyria with a German suplex, then hit a
shotgun dropkick off the middle rope. Ruca hit a running
knee for a near fall. Ruca yanked Valkyria off the mat into
another German suplex.
Ruca went for a flying space tiger drop, but Valkyria jumped
up and snapped her back across the top rope with a hangman’s
neckbreaker. Lyra came off the top with a scissors kick for
a near fall.
Ruca escaped Nightwing, then hit a tornado DDT. Ruca then
hit the Sol Snatcher and got the pinfall.
Match Result: Ruca pinned Valkyria after a Sol Snatcher
(10:51).
— In the back, The Usos want Jacob Fatu to be happier about
being in the Bloodline, since they could do something that
Fatu couldn’t do: bring Solo Sikoa back to the Bloodline.
— Cathy Kelley interviewed The Vision. Logan Paul said
anyone would step up to the Vision. Bron Breakker is still
staring off into space while the Vision geeks act like
geeks. Cathy Kelly asked Bron if he had anything to say to
Oba Femi, and Breakker went out to the ring to say it.
Bron Breakker Called Out Oba Femi
Bron Breakker went out to the ring (the rest of the Vision
stayed in the back) and called out Femi. “If you want to be
the future of this place, come and take it from me!”
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Paul Heyman came out and rattled off
all of his nicknames: oracle, advocate, and wise man. And as
someone who knows what is wise to do, Heyman wants to know
the answer to the question, “Who is the future of WWE?”
Breakker got into Heyman’s face and asked him who he thought
the future of WWE is.
Before Paul could answer, Oba Femi’s music signaled his
entrance into the arena. Oba said Breakker was asking
“stupid questions,” because everyone knows the future is Oba
Femi. And if Breakker has a problem with the answer, he can
take it up with him any place, any time.
Breakker is ready to fight right now, but Paul Heyman puts a
stop to that. WWE is a publicly traded company, they can’t
just give away a match between two main eventers in an
impromptu match in Buffalo. This match needs to be promoted!
Heyman has already set up the match for Sunday Night’s Main
Event in Breakker’s hometown of Atlanta. Then we will find
out who is the future of WWE.
Heyman shook Breakker’s hand as Breakker left… then shook
Oba Femi’s hand as he left.
Dragon Lee v. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a #1 Contender’s
Tournament First Round Match
The winner here faces Rey Fenix in the semi-final round.
Wagner is a pretty big dude for a luchador. Wagner hit a
knee in the corner and a death valley driver for a near
fall. Wagner hit a pair of tilt-a-whirl backbreakers, then
sent Lee to the floor. Wagner followed Lee to the floor with
a flip dive off the apron.
Back in the ring, Lee tripped up Wagner in the corner and
hit a dropkick. Wagner hit a superkick for a near fall.
After a break, Wagner charged into a boot from Lee, who
followed up with a German suplex. Lee hit a tornado DDT, and
Wagner dropped to the floor. Lee followed him out with a
tope con hilo, which got the crowd going.
Back in the ring, Wagner hit Lee with a chop. Lee came back
with a chop of his own. Lee hit another chop and boot.
Wagner came back with his own boot for a near fall. Lee hung
Wagner up in the ropes for a double-stomp to the chest for a
near fall.
Lee tried for a step up rana to the floor, but Wagner caught
him, then powerbombed him into the ring. Wagner came off the
top with a frog splash. Lee caught Wagner with a boot.
Wagner caught Lee with an enziguri as he was climbing the
ropes, then hit a superplex off the top. Lee escaped an
attempt at the Wagner Driver, then hit the Operation Dragon
(Destino) and got the pinfall.
Match Result: Dragon Lee pinned Wagner to advance to the
semi-finals (11:03).
So the semi-finals are set: Dragon Lee v. Rey Fenix and
Penta v. La Parka.
Rey Mysterio v. Chad Gable for the WWE Intercontinental
Championship
Both men shake hands to start. After a friendly exchange,
they shook hands again and then both cheap-shotted each
other with boots to the stomach. Gable took Rey down with a
double leg takedown, then chopped him in the corner. Gable
then flipped Rey over with a German suplex.
They brawled on the apron, and Rey sent Gable into the ring
post headfirst. Mysterio then hit a rana that sent them both
to the floor.
Gable went to work on Rey’s leg. Rey caught Gable with a
crucifix for a near fall. Rey countered a powerbomb attempt
with a cradle for another near fall. Gable hit a backdrop
suplex for a near fall.
The fight went to the floor, and Rey hit an Asai Moonsault
for a near fall. Back in the ring, Gable charged into the
ring post, and Rey caught him with a tornado DDT for a near
fall. Gable put Rey in position for a Razor’s Edge, then
flipped him into a DDT. Gable then came off the top with a
headbutt for a near fall.
Rey flipped out of a back suplex but injured his leg on the
landing. Gable went for the Angle Slam, but Rey turned that
into a hiptoss. Rey set up for the 619, but Gable escaped.
Rey hit a senton and another spinning DDT for a near fall.
Gable hit the Angle Slam for another near fall. Gable hit
Rey with an avalanche Angle Slam for another near fall.
Rey went for another 619, but Gable turned that into an
ankle lock. Rey flipped Gable into the middle buckles, then
hit a 619 in the corner. Rey hit another proper 619 and the
crowd was going nuts for Rey.
Rey went to the top for a frog splash, but Gable got his
knees up. Gable got the ankle lock. Rey tried to kick out
twice, but Gable held onto the move. Rey tried to turn it
into a cradle, but Gable reversed the cradle into one of his
own, and got the pinfall.
Match Result: Chad Gable pinned Rey Mysterio to retain the
Intercontinental Title (13:14).
The last few minutes of this were really great.
After the match, Rey put the belt around Gable’s waist.

Oba Femi and Bron Breakker Contract Signing
Jey Uso Delivered Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns
The crowd did all the chants for Roman, who stood in the
ring with Jacob Fatu over his shoulder. The Usos brought out
Solo Sikoa, who looked annoyed to be there. Roman said the
sight of Solo Sikoa makes him sick. Roman said he beat Solo
in tribal combat “three years ago” (huh?), and then Roman
showed a video package of Solo/Bloodline highlights.
After the video, the crowd chanted for Solo. Roman didn’t
understand why the crowd was so entertained by Sikoa.
Roman started to pick apart Solo’s outfit, and broke his
sunglasses. Roman wanted Solo on his knees begging, and Fatu
hit Sikoa with a superkick then gave him the Tongan Death
Grip until Roman called Fatu off.
Roman announced The Usos are “made men,” his captains, and
if you disrespect them, you disrespect Roman. Roman had some
black Ula Falas to give the Usos.
LA Knight finally came out to interrupt this nonsense.
Knight tossed The Usos to the floor. Fatu jumped Knight once
he got in the ring. Roman stopped Fatu from finishing off
Knight. Roman gave Knight the Superman punch.
The crowd finally started booing Roman when he went to beat
on Knight. Roman pulled up Sikoa and demanded that Sikoa
finish off Knight. The Usos held Knight in place for a shot
from Sikoa. Sikoa apologized to Knight, and then turned
around and gave the Samoan Spike to Roman!
The crowd popped huge for that.
Sikoa dumped Jey Uso to the floor, and Knight gave Jimmy the
BFT. Sikoa spiked Jey on the floor.
Fatu and Knight stood face-to-face. Roman recovered and went
to give Knight the Superman Punch, but Knight caught him
with the BFT.
The crowd chanted for LA Knight. Roman was down, and Jacob
Fatu just stood in the corner and watched.
Knight and Sikoa stood tall against the Bloodline and left
together, with Fatu just kind of watching in the corner. If
Fatu had gone with Knight and Sikoa, the crowd would have
popped huge. But they’re clearly saving that turn for a bit
later.
I’m not sure, but I think the fans have finally figured out
the Bloodline are heels.
