In the latest filings with the United States Securities and
Exchange Commission, TKO revealed that they will be paying
$105 million to settle the WWE shareholder lawsuit after an
agreement was reached in early June to resolve all claims
against all defendants.
The bulk of the settlement, around $75 million, will be
covered by TKO’s insurance while WWE will pay the remaining
$30 million which will be written off as a loss.
It remains unclear if WWE will try to recoup some of these
losses through Vince McMahon, who was also one of the
defendants.
The trial was canceled just days before it was expected to
start, sparing McMahon and other WWE and TKO officials from
testifying in what could have been a messy affair.
