SUMMERSLAM MINNEAPOLIS: Aldis reinstated as Smackdown GM, Triple H talks entrance music and praise for British star

Nick Aldis was “reinstated” as Smackdown General Manager by
Triple H in a backstage segment following SummerSlam.

Aldis handed over his resignation to the WWE COO after his
loss to Gunther, but his letter was ripped apart by Triple
H. Aldis surrendered his reigns over to Adam Pearce while he
was preparing for his SummerSlam match.

The British star received a standing ovation from the
Minneapolis crowd after his match and was met in the ring by
his son and wife, Mickie James. This was Aldis’ first match
in a WWE ring ever.

In the post-show press conference, Triple H said “never say
never” about Aldis maybe lacing up his wrestling boots once
again. He said that Aldis took this on “short notice” and
looked like a million bucks.

“I was pretty emotional watching it happen for him, and I
was really excited for him,” he said. “Incredibly proud of
him and what he accomplished tonight and Gunther as well.”

Triple H also talked about the song that Aldis came out to,
recounting a funny story about asking Aldis what would be
his dream entrance song, and Aldis replied by picking a song
from the band Oasis.

“A couple weeks ago we were talking about music and I said
give me your fantasy what’s the biggest fantasy?” Triple H
said. “He was like ‘what about Oasis?’ I said, ‘maybe no,
but let’s see and meanwhile let’s work on something else.’”

But the powers that be worked on getting Oasis on board for
it and it worked out in the end.

“I was thrilled a few days ago to tell him ‘Oasis is in
dude, we’re doing it,'” Triple H continued.
