SUMMERSLAM MINNEAPOLIS: Randy Orton returns at SummerSlam, attacks Cody Rhodes

There’s a Viper lurking again in WWE.

Former multi-time champion Randy Orton returned to the
company last night at SummerSlam, interfering in the WWE
Championship match attacking Cody Rhodes.

The referee took a bad bump, receiving a Cody Cutter by
mistake after Punk moved out of the way. Punk hit a GTS but
then Cody countered with a Cross Rhodes before a second
attempt at a GTS failed. With the ref and Punk out of the
ring, Orton sneaked in from the crowd and hit an RKO on his
former tag team partner to a big pop from the crowd.

Orton looked straight at the hard cam, winked, and left the
ring as quickly as he came in. That was followed by another
GTS from Punk and a three count from the referee.

The Viper has not been seen on WWE television since
WrestleMania 42 Sunday, where he lost his match against
Rhodes in the main event. Orton brutally attacked Rhodes
following the match but Orton disappeared from TV, due to an
injury, and the attack was never followed up.
