Backstage, AAA Mega Champion Dominick Mysterio and El Grande
Americano discussed strategy for their match tonight.
Americano asked Dom if he was with him, saying he needed to
hear it from hit. Dom said that he and Americano will be the
biggest match in AAA history. So he will protect that. Also,
Dominick was wearing a t-shirt with a picture of him as a
child with his real dad Eddie Guerrero, which was pretty
great.
AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship Match: Lola Vice & Mr.
Iguana (c) vs La Hiedra & Laredo Kid
So, follow me here. La Hiedra and Iguana were Mixed Tag
Champs, but lost the titles to Ethan Page and Chelsea Green.
Then Hiedra and Vice had a match to see who would be
Iguana’s partner (and maybe girlfriend?) which Vice won.
Then, Hiedra filled in for an injured Chelsea Green to
defend the mix tag titles with Green’s partner Ethan Page in
a match that Vice and Iguana won to earn the titles. Hiedra
has tried a few partners to win the titles back, Joaquin
Wilde for one, but was unsuccessful. Now, Hiedra has made
fast friends with an increasingly cranky Laredo Kid and the
pair will try and take the straps from Vice and Iguana. And
La Yesca. Why that puppet doesn’t have a tiny belt, I’ll
never know.
Laredo and Iguana kicked off the match with Laredo shoving
Iguana from behind when he went to put La Yesca on the
ringpost. From there they traded pinning combinations until
Laredo simply slapped Iguana in the face. Iguana turned that
into an armbar and then a dropkick.
Hiedra tagged in which brought in Vice. Vice went right to
the open hand chops and put Hiedra in an arm bar off the
ropes. Hiedra couldn’t get any momentum with Vice hitting
her with fists a feet at every turn.
Finally, Hiedra got a scoop slam in, but the comeback was
short lived as Laredo ran in to stop Vice from kicking her.
So she kicked him instead, sent him into the corner and hit
them both with a, ahem, hip attack.
They moved to the outside where Hiedra got the drop on Vice
with a stunner and threw her back into the ring. Hiedra hit
Vice with a dropkick in the corner and then choked her on
the ropes. Hiedra put on a deep chin lock, trying to get
Vice to pass out or tap out.
She clubbed Vice down to the mat then set her up for another
dropkick. Vice came out of the corner with a superkick and a
belly-to-back suplex. The men tagged in and Iguana hit a
springboard head butt followed by a crucifix driver on
Laredo.
Laredo nailed Iguana with a Michinoku driver followed by a
450 splash, but Iguana kicked out at 2.5. Laredo went for a
pumphandle, but Iguana countered it into a DDT. He crawled
over to Vice and got the tag. Vice met Hiedra in the center
of the ring with some kicks, but Hiedra came back with a
flatliner.
Hiedra took a superkick to the head, but Laredo came in a
broke up the pin. Iguana hit him with an Iguanarana to the
outside. Laredo sent Iguana into the stairs and Hiedra hit a
face first slam on Vice to get the 1-2-3 and win the AAA
Mixed Tag Titles.
Match Result: La Hiedra & Laredo Kid defeated Lola Vice &
Mr. Iguana
-Back from break, Rey held a quick press conference because
he forgot to share his big announcement earlier. He said
that he wants to make Luchadores global superstars and
talked about going to Comic Con with Mr Iguana and showed
off the first wave of AAA action figures. He then took off
to rejoin Corey Graves and JBL on commentary for the Main
Event.
AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano vs.
Los Perros del Mal (Daga & Angel Garza)
Americano and Mysterio are set to square off for the AAA
Mega Championship at Triplemania, but for now they are
uneasy allies as Perros Del Mal has been causing havoc all
across AAA. The whole thing begs the eternal question: CAN
THEY CO-EXIST?! F4W’s spatial and temporal experts are on
the case and we will determine by the end of this match if
Americano and Mysterio can exist together in the same space
and time.
Daga entered with his chosen mystery partner: Angel Garza.
Mysterio and Daga started the match with Mysterio getting
the drop on Daga with some right hands. Dage came back and
knocked Mysterio to the canvas before delivering some stiff
shots and a slam. He sent Mysterio to the corner and threw
some chops and back elbows.
Mysterio came back with a dropkick and tagged in Americano.
They double teamed Daga for a moment, until Daga connected
with a punch on Americano. That seemed to set him off and
Americano pummelled him in the corner.
Daga kicked out of a cover at two and then Americano went up
top. Garza shook the ropes though and Americano lost his
balance and fell to the mat. Garza tagged in and took down
Americano with a toe hold. He threw kicks and punches and
whipped Americano into the corner.
They traded blows in the corner until Americano dodged a
charge and got a tag to Mysterio. Mysterio took Garza down
until Garza tricked him and raked the eyes. Daga grabbed a
blind tag and dropkicked Mysterio, but could only get a two
count.
Daga threw another dropkick off the ropes ad cut Mysterio
off from making a tag. Garza tagged in and they stomped
Mysterio in the corner. Garza fishhooked Mysterio and Daga
punched him from the outside.
Mysterio fought back with a tornado DDT and crawled towards
Americano. Double hot tags were made and Americano cleared
the ring of Daga and Garza. Americano nailed them with a
double blockbuster and went for a cover on Daga, but could
only get a two count.
Mysterio tagged in and went for a suplex on Daga, who
countered it with an attempt of his own. Mysterio finally
got one in, then introduced Daga to his two other friends,
Americano joining for the third Amigo. Americano then set
Daga up on the top turnbuckle and superplexed him. Mysterio
followed with a frog splash, but Garzo picked up Americano
and slammed him into the pile to break the pin.
Mysterio hit a dropkick on Daga and sent him to the ropes
for a 619. Before he could get there though, Daga
clotheslined him. Garza and Americano tagged in and Garza
went right for the eyes. Americano came back with a
backfist. He sent Garza into the official who flew to the
outside.
In the chaos, Mysterio hit that 619 and Americano followed
with a diving headbutt, but there was no no official to make
the count. Bronco Nima and Berto Garza ran down and Nima
slammed Mysterio into the ringpost.
In the ring, Angel hit a lights out suplex as the official
got back in, but Americano kicked out. Los Americanos came
down with Kendo Sticks to take out Nima and Berto. Los
Perros were about to get the drop on them though when Bravo
climbed about 20 feet in the air on the lighting rig and
dropped right down onto them.
In the ring Americano hit a side slam on Angel, but he
kicked out a two. Karmen Petrovic appeared at ringside and
Nima double chokeslammed Los Americanos through the announce
desk. Americano (singular) dove onto Nima and took him out
with a headbutt.
Americano got back in the ring and was caught by a high knee
and sit-out powerbomb from Angel. Daga came back in and held
Americano for a dropkick-Gernam suplex combo, but somehow
Americano kicked out at two.
Americano started hulking up and took out Angel and Daga
with a double clothesline. Mysterio climbed back up on the
apron and called for a tag. However, he pulled it back when
Americano reached for him!
Mysterio then started walking up the entrance ramp, leaving
Americano to the mercy of Los Perros. Garza and Daga beat up
Americano 2-on-1. Daga hit a dage double stomp from the top
rope and pinned Americano to get the win for Los Perros del
Mal.
Match Result: Los Perros del Mal defeated Dominik Mysterio &
El Grande Americano
Mysterio walked up the ramp and was joined by Omos and
Dorian Roldan! The trio stood at the entrance, sending the
message that they have joined forces in AAA!
