First off, WWE.com announced yesterday afternoon that WWE head booker Stephanie McMahon-Levesque and her husband, Paul (Triple H) Levesque are expecting their first child.

PWBTS would like to congratulate Ms. McMahon-Levesque and Mr. Levesque; as well as Vince and Linda McMahon, who will now be grandparents for the third time with this birth and the recently announced second child for Shane McMahon and his wife.

Moving on to this week's column...

Philadelphia starts its wrestling year this Saturday with a wrestling doubleheader that will likely be an improvement over the Smackdown taping that will take place tomorrow at the Wachovia Center in South Philadelphia.

First, CZW returns to the ECW Arena on Saturday, January 14, with an special 3:30 pm belltime for the first half of the CZW/Ring of Honor Philadelphia doubleheader.

Lineup

  • CZW was just recently sent a video via email of Ring of Honor's Champion “American Dragon” Brian Danielson. He said he accepts Chris Hero’s challenge from Cage of Death 7 and that he will be at the next show on the 14th.

He also made a harsh comment about the company saying, “CZW is beneath me.” We tried to reach Chris Hero and anyone from the CZW office for comment but no one could be reached. Will Danielson show up on the 14th? Will this match happen in the ECW Arena?

    For New York fans:

Option 1: Take Lincoln Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike via Exits 7B or 10B. Take the New Jersey Turnpike southbound to Exit 6 (Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276). After crossing the Delaware River on I-95, take Turnpike Exit 351 (US 1 Expressway) which becomes US 1/Roosevelt Boulevard. The Armory is on Roosevelt Boulevard and Southampton Road as shown in the above map.

Option 2: Take Verranzano Narrows Bridge and continue on I-278 through Staten Island to New Jersey and Exit 13 of New Jersey Turnpike. Take the New Jersey Turnpike southbound to Exit 6 (Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276). After crossing the Delaware River on I-95, take Turnpike Exit 351 (US 1 Expressway) which becomes US 1/Roosevelt Boulevard. For Central/North Jersey fans:

Take New Jersey Turnpike southbound to Exit 6 (Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276). After crossing Delaware River, take Turnpike Exit 351 (US 1 Expressway) which becomes US 1/Roosevelt Boulevard. The Armory is on Roosevelt Boulevard and Southampton Road as shown in the above map.

    For South Jersey fans:

Take Route 73 until you reach the exit for Route 90 (the approach road for the Betsy Ross Bridge). Take the Betsy Ross Bridge to Philadelphia and take the first exit immediately off of the Betsy Ross Bridge onto I-95 northbound. Take I-95 northbound to the Woodhaven Road exit. Take Woodhaven Road to Roosevelt Boulevard (US 1) and turn right. The Armory will be on your right.

    For fans from Delaware/points south:

The directions are fairly simple. Go to I-95 northbound from wherever you are. Continue on I-95 through Delaware and Pennsylvania, through center city Philadelphia, until you reach northeast Philadelphia and the Woodhaven Road exit. Take Woodhaven Road to Roosevelt Boulevard (US 1) and turn right. The Armory will be on your right about 3/4 mile ahead, set slightly back off the Boulevard.

    For Philadelphia fans using SEPTA:

It should be noted that the Armory IS accessible via SEPTA from center city and south Philadelphia, taking the Frankford El to the Frankford Transportation Center, then transferring to the Route 14 bus (which runs directly out Roosevelt Boulevard). The bus ride takes about 20 minutes from the Frankford Transportation Center. Inbound buses to the Frankford Transportation Center run past midnight, so people will be easily be able to get back into town after the shows.
